[BL] Mr. Romano Contracted Husband-Chapter 63: Suddenly Become Parents
Julian slid relentlessly across the slippery ice. He was so panicked that he couldn’t stop himself. Added to that was the appearance of a little girl standing in front of him.
"Move! Move out of the way!" he shouted, not wanting to hit her.
The girl turned and froze in place, shocked by Julian sliding towards her. Arcane, who saw this from a distance, immediately tried to chase after Julian and grab him.
However, it was too late. He crashed into the girl. But Julian hugged her tightly, protecting her from the impact of the ice with his own body. The girl lay in his arms while his back hit the ice.
"Julian!" Arcane immediately stopped near him to check on him. "Hey, are you okay?!" 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
Julian was still lying still with the girl slowly pulling away and sitting next to him.
"Are you okay, sir?" she asked innocently and looked guilty.
"Huh... I’m fine. Just my back hurts," he replied, then turned to her. "Are you hurt? I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to bump into you."
The little girl shook her head, saying she was fine because Julian had protected her. He felt so relieved after hearing that, then lay back down to rest for a moment because his body still hurt.
"You worry about others but you don’t worry about yourself. Do you want me to take you to the doctor?" Arcane asked worriedly.
"No need. Besides, my head didn’t hit the ice, so I think I’m fine. I just need a little time to adjust after falling," he replied.
Slowly, the green haired man sat down, rubbing his face. He turned back to the little girl with beautiful purple hair and a cute face.
"Why are you alone? Where are your parents?"
The girl didn’t know what to do, even looking around the ice skating rink, and couldn’t find her parents anywhere. Arcane realized that the girl must be lost, or separated from her parents.
But what kind of parents wouldn’t notice that their daughter was missing? Especially since the girl’s name was Luciana, and she was only 5 years old.
She also wasn’t wearing ice skates, which made Arcane completely certain that she was lost.
"Where were you last with your parents? Maybe we can take you there," Julian asked, holding Luciana’s hands.
The 5-year old girl shook her head. She couldn’t remember where she had last seen her parents.
"At that time, I was taking a photo with Santa. Then suddenly my dad and mommy were no longer near me. I tried to look for them, but I couldn’t find them anywhere!" she replied, her voice filled with fear and on the verge of tears.
Julian, feeling sorry for her, immediately hugged her and asked Arcane to help find her parents.
Of course, Arcane agreed, and they left the ice skating rink to look for Luciana’s parents.
While searching around the city park, Julian held her hand tightly, as if he was afraid of losing sight of the little girl.
While they were searching, Luciana’s stomach suddenly growled because she was hungry.
"Are you hungry? Haven’t you had dinner yet?"
She shook her head. "I haven’t had dinner. My mommy and daddy suddenly took me here and said we were going to take a picture with Santa. But now they’re gone."
The two men exchanged glances, and Arcane went to buy something for Luciana to eat. Julian invited her to sit on a nearby park bench, with Luciana sitting next to him.
She looked so small and fragile that Julian couldn’t bear to leave her alone without her parents. If they had lost their daughter, surely they would be looking for her now, right?
His yellow eyes scanned the park. He tried to find a couple who looked like they were searching for something. But among all the people there, he couldn’t find a single couple who looked panicked because they had lost their child.
Not long after, Arcane returned with three warm loaves of bread. Since she couldn’t hold it because they were still quite hot, Julian took off his gloves and fed her.
"Open your mouth. You have to fill your stomach or you’ll get sick. It’s very cold outside, so we can wait for your parents here while eating this bread," he said.
"Aaaaa-"
Luciana opened her mouth and ate the bread that was fed to her. She smiled, a sweet smile that melted Julian’s heart when he saw it. She even giggled, and he laughed along with her.
Like any 5 year old girl, she was very active in talking, especially about when she took a photo with Santa a few minutes ago before her parents disappeared.
"You really enjoyed it, didn’t you? Taking a photo with Santa must have been so much fun!" said Julian, interacting with her, showing a happy face so she wouldn’t feel sad anymore.
Arcane, sitting next to them, watched how his husband interacted with the little girl. A smile appeared on his face, feeling as if the girl were their own child chatting with Julian.
’If we really had a child, I’d be worried he’d be confused about having two fathers,’ he thought.
But he immediately dismissed the thought, because it was impossible for them to have a child. It could happen if they wanted to adopt, but Julian might not agree to it, and the requirements for adopting a child would be very difficult.
The man then went over to one of the drink vendors and bought three cups of hot tea. He gave the tea to Julian and Luciana. They both smiled together, looking so sweet, and Arcane felt his heart swell with happiness.
"Boop, I’m taking your nose," Julian teased her.
"Ah! Ehehe..." Luciana giggled and tried to grab his hand as if she wanted to get her nose back.
Julian reflexively hugged the girl, laughing with her.
"You two have been busy together and ignoring me. Can’t I play with you?" he asked, pretending to be angry.
The two exchanged glances, then nodded their heads. The two grown men then listened to Luciana’s story about everything she liked. Julian commented as if he was very interested in the story.
Meanwhile, Arcane treated her like his own daughter, gently stroking and patting her head.
In the midst of their lively conversation, Arcane’s eyes fell on something beneath Luciana’s clothes. More precisely, there seemed to be a red mark on her collar. This made him both suspicious and worried about something that was now on his mind.
He turned to Julian, looking at him seriously, which made the smile on Julian’s face fade.
Luciana was confused by the two of them suddenly no longer smiling at her. She looked at them alternately, trying to figure out what was going on until Arcane spoke again.
"We’re leaving now. Take her to the police station."
