Bleach : I Need To Rizz To Become Stronger ?!-Chapter 87: Sister Yachiru
Chapter 87 - Sister Yachiru
So fast?!
The surrounding crowd, who had watched the match from beginning to end, were left in disbelief. Most had never witnessed Shin's Zanpakutō in action, and even among the seated officers who had, they realized—this time, he was even faster than during the initial evaluation!
Shingyōji Ōgi heard Shin's words and grit his teeth, continuing to focus on his healing.
Several minutes later, he finally withdrew his hands, wiped the sweat from his brow, and sealed his Zanpakutō.
"I'm done as well."
The courtyard was silent, so still you could hear a needle drop.
Kotetsu Isane stepped forward with several seated officers and inspected the reconstructed artificial soul body healed by Shingyōji.
"All injuries treated. A full recovery expected within three days. Well done, Shingyōji-senpai," she said softly.
But Shingyōji's gaze drifted to Shin's side.
While he had still been healing, the inspection on Shin's side had already concluded. Judging by the faces of those who had seen it... he could guess the result.
He exhaled, silent for a moment—then suddenly smiled, relieved.
"If I did my part well, that's enough."
As the head of the 1st Advanced Emergency Unit, Shingyōji had treated everyone from commoners to nobles, captains to children. In Isane's eyes, he was in many ways more capable than herself.
Finally, Isane announced the outcome.
"Both soul bodies have been healed. Tachikawa Shin's healing was complete and accomplished in less time. The winner of the Emergency Healing trial: Tachikawa Shin."
Surprisingly, the courtyard remained silent.
Unohana Retsu stepped forward, her voice calm and clear.
"From this day forward, Tachikawa Shin shall serve as the Third Seat of the 4th Division and Assistant to the Vice-Captain. Further adjustments beneath the third seat will be posted tomorrow."
Her words triggered a wave of bowed heads and affirmations.
But no loud cheers followed—perhaps everyone was still in shock from Shin's performance, or quietly reflecting on the passing of one era into the next.
Shingyōji stepped before Unohana, bowing deeply.
"Captain. I will return to arrange matters for the handover."
Unohana nodded gently.
With that, the crowd began to disperse, returning to their duties.
Shin followed Isane into the squad headquarters behind Unohana.
"Congratulations, Third Seat Tachikawa," Unohana said with a faint, composed smile as the door closed.
"Your performance today was... unexpected. I thought it might take longer, but you won cleanly and decisively."
Shin replied modestly,
"Shingyōji-senpai didn't make it difficult for me."
Unohana seated herself, then gestured for Isane to take her leave.
Once the door closed, Isane stood in the corridor, emotions tangled.
Shin won...
She had gone out of her way to bring Yamada Seinosuke here—yet none of it had been needed. From the moment Shin declared his challenge, he had seemed perfectly at ease. And now she saw why.
She'd always believed she understood Shin's level of Kaidō. Back at Shin'ō Academy, he hadn't outshone others in that field. And since then, she had been his main instructor in Kaidō.
But that heart—that reishi heart inside the Reishi Reconstruction Sphere—was something she wouldn't even dare imagine attempting herself.
Isane had seen many geniuses: the vice-captains of the 5th and 13th Divisions, and the newly graduated Hitsugaya Tōshirō.
But now she realized—Shin was more terrifying than any of them. Harder to understand, harder to define.
Inside the office—
Unohana asked softly,
"That reishi heart. Was it a product of your Zanpakutō?"
Shin smiled innocently.
"Captain doesn't believe I created it using just my Kaidō skills?"
Unohana chuckled,
"Then I suppose your Kaidō far surpasses mine."
"I wouldn't dare," Shin quickly replied.
She gazed at him quietly. His face—clean and serene—betrayed no sharpness or madness. Such a pure appearance... it was difficult to believe he had been raised in the savage, anarchic 79th district of Rukongai—Zaraki.
She would have expected someone from that district to be more like him—
Zaraki Kenpachi, Captain of the 11th Division.
And yet...
Recalling Shin's words from a week ago, Unohana's curiosity grew.
"Was my assumption wrong?" she asked again. "Is your Zanpakutō not a reversal-type? Or is it not just that?"
Shin paused, then grinned slyly.
"Do you truly want to know, Captain?"
Unohana's smile faded slightly.
Shin continued,
"If you really want to know, I'd be happy to tell you."
Unohana didn't answer. But she understood his implication.
She had allowed him to exist as he was in her presence. She had been waiting—hoping he would surprise her someday.
If she knew all his secrets now, that surprise... would lose its spark.
Her smile returned.
"The First Advanced Emergency Unit will remain under Shingyōji. But since you're now Third Seat, you'll no longer serve under him. The Seventh Unit head has requested transfer to the Pharmacology Corps—you'll take his place."
Outside of the First Unit, the other units weren't ranked by importance, so Shin didn't mind.
"Also..." she added with a shift in tone.
"The Third Seat is... busier than you might think."
In the Gotei 13, the Captain held the 1st seat, the Vice-Captain the 2nd. The 3rd seat was their direct aide.
The 4th Division was hardly a leisurely post—the 3rd seat had as many responsibilities as a Vice-Captain.
But Shin? He was the kind of man who excelled at slacking off while looking busy.
Before leaving, he glanced at his internal affection list: freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
[Unohana Retsu]
[Affection: 5]
Waiting outside, Kotetsu Isane stood patiently.
"Vice-Captain Kotetsu."
"Congratulations, Shin-kun," she said with a smile.
"Honestly, I didn't expect it to end this way. I thought you might..."
She trailed off, looking slightly embarrassed.
Shin grinned.
"Today was a bit of a fluke. I didn't expect to win that cleanly either. Thank you for everything you've done for me."
Isane wanted to protest—she hadn't helped that much—but kept it to herself.
"Regardless, it's a good ending for you."
Shin looked at her seriously, then asked,
"What will happen to Shingyōji-senpai?"
[Affection: 66]
A small bump upward.
Isane's smile grew softer, more genuine.
"He'll temporarily serve as co-Fourth Seat alongside Naitō. And we'll take this chance to reshuffle several other seated positions beneath Third Seat."
She added,
"Technically, Third Seat should be involved in these decisions, but considering you've just been promoted—and just joined the Division a month ago—the Captain and I will handle it."
Shin nodded.
"That's only proper."
He looked at the silver-haired woman before him and smiled again.
"Thank you, Yachiru-neesan."
Isane froze.
"W-What... did you call me?"
Shin beamed.
"We're close enough, aren't we? Is it alright if I call you that?"
Isane bit her lip lightly.
"...I don't mind."
"Then you can just call me Shin. No honorifics. Feels weird."
"...Shin."
The tall girl suddenly looked flustered—a reaction that clashed adorably with her height and rank.
Shin grinned broadly.
"Well then, I'm off. See you later, Yachiru-neesan."
