Chapter 174: Mission+

Inside the camp, Thunder Emperor and Achara were waiting for him. Root and Sathyamoorthi seemed to have left a while ago.

Oliver walked straight into Thunder Emperor’s office.

*Clack*

He didn’t even bother asking before entering the room.

"I am back, master." Oliver swaggered into the room with an aura of ’we have a lot to talk ’.

There were only two people inside the room: Achara and Thunder Emperor. They looked at him simultaneously.

The older gentleman, Thunder Emperor, with a smile, asked.

"I heard your pet was injured. How is it?"

"Fine."

Oliver showed the fish bowl and the little koi swimming inside.

"I presume it’s a mana beast. Is it tamed?"

"Yeah. This little guy won’t leave me."

Oliver pulled up a chair and sat in front of Thunder Emperor. Achara was sitting right next to him on another chair.

"She spoke to you about what happened to me, right?" He asked while eying Achara.

"Yes. The demons are truly terrible. We need to tighten our security."

Oliver had spoken about his suspicion that demons are targeting the new generation with the help of an oracle or a seer, someone with the ability to see the future.

"The demos are killing them in their cradle, before they could become a problem for them. You need to find a way to stop that. The demon testing method we developed wouldn’t be enough."

As long as people are people, a demon would find a way to infiltrate society. Even with a test, they couldn’t be stopped.

After all, there are always ways to fake the test.

One of the easiest ways to do so was by using the corrupt ones in the military and government. The demons already have a relationship of interest with certain people. So, they will find a way to survive.

"How sure are you that a seer is working with the demons?"

"I am not. But I can’t explain it any other way."

"I believe you." Thunder Emperor sighed.

"Trust, but verify," Oliver added.

Thunder Emperor and Achara nodded.

In their war against demons, they had seen many unexplainable things. Adding one more to the list didn’t matter.

"Anyway, there is only one way to fight against a seer. We need to have one on our side, too. I hope you can get in touch with Luminaries of the Sol." Oliver said.

The Luminaries were a group of oracles working for the Sol Empire. They can vaguely predict the future and could see important events that would occur.

The reason the Sol Empire survived well against the onslaught of demons for a long time was because of the Luminaries.

No other nation has a team of Oracles like Sol Empire, so it would be great if Thunder Emperor could contact them and ask for help.

Of course, they wouldn’t help for free.

But paying a price to secure the life of the future generation was worth it.

"Luminaries can, with the right conditions, detect the presence of others with similar ability. We need their help."

"The only nation in the world which was in a position to ally with all others is the Federation. Humanity has to work together to defeat demons." Oliver added.

He was slowly revealing his ideas to sway the Thunder Emperor.

From what he had seen until now, Thunder Emperor was a scheming person like himself, capable of understanding the intricacies of the world. Even without further explanation, he could understand what Oliver meant.

"I agree. We need their help." Thunder Emperor nodded. "I lit the fuse, so I need to act quickly. I hope you can help me, Oliver."

"Why do you want the help of a nobody like me?"

"A nobody won’t be able to escape from an S-rank demon."

"He he he..." Oliver laughed.

Finally, he was beginning to understand why the old man declared that he was his disciple.

"As long as you protect Dragon City and my family, we should have no trouble working together." Oliver smiled and replied.

Behind his pleasant smile, he hid sharp blades.

As long as his family is protected by the military, he will do as they say. At least until he becomes an S ranker.

"That’s great to hear."

After that, Oliver and Thunder Emperor talked for a while about the specifics of their plan.

They decided to track and monitor all persons of interest that the demon tried to kill.

After that, they talked about his mission of joining the Hero Academy.

Now, Oliver was also tasked with protecting the newer generation.

Thunder Emperor believed the demons might attack Hero Academy in retaliation. He feared it would cause a lot of casualties and asked Oliver to protect them.

’If the demons are targeting the younger generation, what better way to cripple the strength of humanity than by attacking Hero Academy?’

It was the thought process behind the request.

Oliver smiled, hearing that.

As expected, Thunder Emperor was a visionary. He predicted what was about to happen five years later, now.

There really was an attack like that in the future Oliver came from. But it was supposed to happen five years later.

Oliver knew about it. He didn’t plan to speak about that because he didn’t know how his actions would affect the future.

As someone who experienced the future, Oliver was better than any seer or oracle. While the future changed, he was still able to predict the important events and prepare for them.

The attack on the Hero Academy was something he was preparing for.

But it was supposed to happen five years later.

He really doesn’t need to worry about that now.

Or so he thought.

Meanwhile, in a far-away military quarters, Park Sanghyun slammed his fist against the table.

This time, the table exploded and disintegrated into small pieces.

"THAT BRAT... AND HIS MASTER..." Rage burned like a fire in his heart.

He turned to look at his subordinates.

"Go and break both his legs for me." He ordered and kicked the rest of the table away.
