Chapter 375: Chapter 183: The Thunder and Flame Hammer! The Truth about the Magic Box! Dudor the Third Seeks Recognition.
"Boom——"
The dome-shaped building was violently breached from the inside, and a huge human-shaped hole was smashed through the thick metal wall, as a colossal and burly silhouette strode out from the darkness.
This was a metal puppet towering at dozens of meters tall, headless, with signs of rust and fracture at its neck, grasping in its hands a massive black hammer nearly as gigantic as its body.
Clearly, it was in pursuit of Dudor the Third, and without hesitation, it locked onto his position and swung its hammer directly at Ronan’s head.
"Whoosh——crackle!"
The terrifying hammer compressed the layers of air, emitting a series of frighteningly fine explosive sounds.
As the hammer swung, numerous rune light paths suddenly appeared on the colossal headless puppet’s body. Before the hammer even fully descended, a dim yellow halo radiated from the face of the hammer, quickly enveloping Ronan and the Dudor the Third cradled between his knees.
Ronan instantly felt a heaviness in his body, as if he had suddenly sunk several inches down, and the exceedingly firm metal floor beneath his feet creaked as if it could not bear the weight.
"Gravity field?!"
"Boom! Bang!"
The fearsome hammer with a near eight-meter diameter smashed onto the ground, bursting a large section of the metal floor open, raising a huge dust cloud mixed with countless metal fragments. The street was peeled layer by layer, the ground shook violently, as if experiencing a miniature earthquake.
Clad entirely in armor, Ronan’s figure appeared at another location not far away, with Dudor the Third at his feet, following suit.
Beneath a mask with intricate, mysterious silver patterns flowing across it, Ronan’s eyes flickered faintly with light.
The strength of this metal puppet, judged solely by the power of that single hammer strike, was already comparable to the magical potency released by an average Late Second Level Stage Wizard.
Paired with the hammer’s innate gravity field halo, and the straightforward, not overly complex hammer swing attack, an average Late Second Level Stage Wizard would indeed struggle to handle such a move.
This was the result produced even though the puppet had been eroded and damaged over a long period of time within the remnants of the Mechanical Heart, with the rune formation within it weakened. If it were at its peak, this metal puppet’s strength may rival that of a Level 3 Wizard, or even higher.
"No wonder Kosti said that all the Metal Attribute Magic Puppets from the Southern region were derived from the heritage of the Mechanical Heart... The dwarves’ research into metal puppetry is truly profound, coupled with their impressive Forging skills, it’s like adding wings to a tiger...
I wonder if they received guidance from Schiper..."
"And such a powerful mechanical civilization has fallen; what other mighty presence once in the South could have caused even the Mechanical Heart to fear?"
Ronan’s mind wandered again to the relocated Ancient Mirror Court, speculating whether the disappearance of these two major powers was for the same reason.
These thoughts were fleeting in Ronan’s mind, for after that fruitless strike, the colossal metal puppet was already gripping the hammer and turning its direction to charge at him again.
The spot that had just been hit by its hammer now sported a massive crater riddled with cracks.
Ronan, faced with the oncoming giant metal puppet, had no intention of tangling with it and met it head-on.
The small and the large, silver and black, two metal figures approached rapidly. Just as the latter raised its massive hammer again, the silver figure vanished abruptly.
The next instant, it appeared behind the colossal black form, and without a pause, rushed straight into the dome-shaped metal building that had been broken open.
"Swish——"
Ronan rushed inside the building, and the first thing he caught sight of was a tremendously large blacksmith’s Forging platform, covered in dust, but one spot appeared clean, likely where the hammer was placed—the same massive black hammer held by the metal puppet outside.
A Dwarf’s home could lack a washroom, but it could never be without a forge...
Ronan’s mind flicked through the information he had read in the Wizard Book, surveying the entire room, quickly locating a dark spherical object amidst the scattered debris, and then, ahead of the sharp whistling sound that was closing in from behind, he blinked away from the spot.
Wrapped in living silver, Ronan carried Dudor the Third with one hand and clutched in the other the object he had just found in the abandoned building, moving like a ghost rapidly between buildings.
When the sound of those heavy footsteps had completely vanished, he finally stopped.
Setting down Dudor the Third, Ronan casually tossed the spherical object he was holding onto the ground.
"Clang——"
This black spherical object, its surface almost unrecognizable due to extensive rust, was presumably the head that had fallen off the headless metal puppet.
Looking at the metallic puppet’s head in front of him, a glint flickered in Ronan’s eyes, and he murmured, swiftly uttering one arcane and difficult syllable after another, accompanied by several specific hand gestures. A torrent of spiritual power surged from his mind, releasing intense waves of magic, as large swaths of Metal Attribute Free Energy Particles from the surroundings converged...
"#¥!!@...!"
Following the last syllable of the spell spouted from Ronan’s mouth, a mass of Metal Attribute Energy Particles gathered around swarmed towards the metal head on the ground, forming a dense black vortex, swiftly encompassing it.
Moments later, as the vortex receded like dissipating smoke, a towering black humanoid figure emerged.
