"Well..." Laylania held her breath, unwilling to upset her guest. "It’s one more Fatt-neck we don’t have to worry about, I guess?"

Sensing that she wasn’t satisfied, Jimmy got a little bit irritated. He potentially had the worst experience of his life back there, in regards to taming dinosaurs, that is, and other than that, he had warned her that the Fatt-neck would most likely deplete all of his mana in a snap, and yet Laylania didn’t seem to be satisfied with his risky work.

She wasn’t satisfied that he got a one-hundred ton dinosaur to change its course, and avoid the lake for years, if not forever.

Jimmy didn’t care to seek her approval, he didn’t know her enough to care how she pictured his work as, but then again, he was used to being treasured, boasted about, and loved by the people he usually had around him, his tribe usually, so it somehow was quite easy for him to get irritated when someone silently criticized his work. Ever since he transmigrated here, he never had an experience quite like this one.

It made him think, ’Darn... I got an Argentinosaurus to piss off, and she looks pissed? What did she expect me to do? Tame a fucking monster with just thirty percent mana? Ridiculous!’

Furthermore, as his eyebrows knitted together, his mood tense, he thought, ’Can’t imagine what the guy before me went through when no one gave a shit, or understood what his magic was about. His life must’ve been hell... God damn, Nechi is sweeter than I thought. She basically loved, and fucked a guy that no one else wanted to hear about, or have nothing to do with.’

Jimmy then sighed, looked at the lady, and said, "I wish I could help more, Laylania, but I told you, I didn’t have a lot of mana to begin with. Now I wouldn’t mind helping you shoo other dinosaurs off, but I think I’m done for the day, so how about you get your friends to get us back to the top world?"

"What’s the rush?" She pulled her head back, and tried to muster a smile, so as to be more receptive to her guest.

She could sense that Jimmy wasn’t happy, so she added, "Stick around and have lunch with us, Jimmy. You must be hungry, and our cook is a master at his craft."

"Almara told me something about that," He sighed, "Alright, sure. We’ll stay for lunch, but only because my girlfriend is hungry. Our tribe is at war, so we can’t risk staying here all day."

"Understood," She nodded.

Laylania was now aware that Jimmy was offended, and wanted to get out of here as fast as possible, but she didn’t give up on her goals, her agenda. She had her own tribe to protect, after all, her own people which she loved and cared for, so she did not want him to leave anytime soon.

For that matter, she then added, "I know for a fact that a good lunch can help bump up mana, so maybe you can stick around after lunch as well? I hate to put you on the spot, but you saw what we’re dealing with, Jimmy. We could use your help."

"Arlight then," He nodded. "But my girlfriend is eating for two, so make sure to serve her a few extra fish. She might refuse, calling fish disgusting, but trust me, she’ll eat anything at this point."

"Oh, you’re expecting a baby?" She exclaimed, and got quite excited. "That’s sweet! We’ve been hiding our children on the other side of the lake... It’s too dangerous to keep them close to the land right now, but nevermind, it’s sweet that you two are expecting."

Laylania then led him towards the lake, since they were done here anyway, but the conversation wasn’t over.

Jimmy rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment, and added, "Well, I’ve been trying to get her pregnant today, if we’re being honest, but what I meant was that she eats like two people. She really likes food."

"Oh," She looked away, albeit embarrassed on his behalf. "That’s okay, we’ll keep her happy, don’t worry."

After that embarrassing conversation, some of the tension between the two of them melted away. Jimmy picked up on the fact that Laylania was trying to keep him, the Dinosaur Tamer, here for as long as possible, but she was also putting in good work to make them comfortable here, which he appreciated a lot more than her ungrateful attitude from earlier. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

It was a lot better in comparison, so he was prompted to stick around for a little while longer. He figured that this tribe of shapeshifters would feel more relaxed if he managed to make another dinosaur piss off, maybe an hour from now.

’Hope my mana bounces up as fast as she expects it to,’ He thought.

Anyway, the food that was promised to them took a while to prepare. Nearly an hour, specifically, and Jimmy figured that this was a ruse to keep them here for as long as possible, but that was not the case.

Jimmy got a good look at this tribe’s Cook, and as he heard him yelling at his assistants, he understood two things as a fact. The Cook was very particular about how he prepared his food on the bonfire, and other than that, he was cooking for the entire tribe, so it was normal that it took some time for the food to arrive.

Eni was not a fan. She wanted to behave, but she silently cussed them out multiple times, usually close to Jimmy’s ear, or proximity, because she wanted at least one person to know that she was upset.

She whispered, "These fucking fish munchers are so slow... goodness... how hard is it to fry a damn fish? I would’ve fried up an entire dinosaur by now!"

"No you couldn’t," He chuckled, though he knew that this only served to piss her off more. "Fish are small, so they’re cooking many of them at a time. It would be easier to throw a dino leg in the fire, sure, but as you know, it wouldn’t be as tasty."

"Meat is meat!" She exclaimed, spooking the shapeshifters a little bit, but the Cook didn’t care. "Darn... I’m hungry."

Jimmy could only smile as he saw her crash out. He found it adorable, and started to understand why she cared about being fed, or why she cared about him specifically feeding her. The reason was simple; she loved food. He aimed to cook her a nice, dinosaur leg as soon as they got home.
