Chapter 1342: Chapter 378: Foreign Ent_3

Elder Cruyff paced with hands behind his back, curiously gazing at a massive oil painting hanging on the north wall of the city hall’s main hall.

The painting depicted a sea of begonia flowers, red as blazing fire, with buds plump and about to drip, showcasing a beauty asleep amongst the flowers; the brushwork was commendable, and the use of colors was peerlessly elegant.

Flanking the oil painting were two hanging giant silk scroll screens, inscribed with two lines of solemn, bold, and vigorous ancient script:

Does the tender chill lock away the orcs’ dreams, because spring is too cold?

Does the intoxicating scent of flowers assault the sturdy dwarves, perhaps wishing to transform into the aroma of malt wine?

Elder Andulan saw Elder of the Shepherd-Tree People smiling appreciatively at the poem and painting, nodding his head and seeming rather emotional. He eagerly introduced: This painting was done by a Giant from the Emerald Dream, and the poem was just something that good-for-nothing Richard wrote for fun, flamboyant verses with radiant prose, giving Elder Cruyff a laugh.

"This painting is exquisite, with a noble style, and though the poem has a whiff of cosmetics, it retains genuineness," Elder Cruyff chuckled, holding a gigantic teacup. Noticing an ancient-looking jade table beneath the painting, on which rested a brightly polished Glass Treasure Mirror, he bent down to take a gander and saw two lantern-like eyes, a wheel-sized nose, and a faceful of tree-roots for a beard.

Ning Yu, holding a golden basin brimming with freshly washed fragrant melons, extended a warm invitation for the Ent Elder to taste them, while the other madams curiously observed the towering Shepherd-Tree Person, clothed in leaves and skin patterned with woody rings.

Liu Zhenhan strode into the main hall, his laughter reverberating before he even arrived.

"Iskosmi! My dear Elder, welcome!" Though nearly a year had passed, Liu Zhenhan still hadn’t forgotten the dialect of Ents, the Shepherd of the Trees, and greeted the tall Elder warmly and affectionately.

"Long time no see, my dear boy!" The Shepherd-Tree Elder turned around and smiled as he fixed his gaze on Liu Zhenhan: "The dawn’s rosy hues are red, signaling another night of slaughter has passed."

"Hehe..." While Liu Zhenhan’s face showed a smile, he couldn’t help but inwardly chuckle, thinking these cliché words might have fooled him a year ago, but now, it was better not to bother.

"I was shocked to receive Ibrahim’s message. I truly did not expect the Donau Wasteland to soon face such a great ordeal! I will offer you a bit of my modest strength; I hope you won’t disdain it!" The Shepherd-Tree Elder chuckled: "There is only me in the Ent Race, not much help really, and my magical capabilities are quite limited."

"You’re being too modest," Liu Zhenhan truly admired the humbleness of the Ent.

"I’m delighted to find the land of the Emerald Dream so vibrant with life. On my way here, I could hear the Thousand-leaf Nymphaea and Slat Banana singing from afar." The Shepherd-Tree Elder’s hearty laughter boomed through the main hall, causing several madams to cover their ears and quickly retreat: "Richard, this time I’ve brought you a lot of wine brewed by the ancient monkeys in the mountains!"

"Ha! I’ve prepared many rare plants for you, many, many indeed." Liu Zhenhan spread his arms wide, wishing to embrace the warmhearted Elder, though regretfully it was not possible: "I’ve always kept an eye out for you! As for the wine, the Emerald Dream has plenty!"

"Ah! I’ve heard you took a trip to the Desert! It’s thoughtful of you," Elder Cruyff squatted down in front of Liu Zhenhan: "On my way here, I already heard the wildflowers of the wasteland spreading your name, haha, I didn’t expect you to become the lord of a thousand blooms. In this sense, we could be considered kin—Shepherd-tree People are those who communicate with plants!"

"Really? A foreign Ent?" Liu Zhenhan expressed surprise.

"My homeland of Atlantis Continent has vanished, and on the entire Aegean Continent, you are the only one who can be considered my kin, as you can talk to the flowers and command them. I am envious of that." Elder Cruyff smiled amiably and softly chanted a short, obscure tune, waving his hand lightly, casting a verdant, lush ray over Liu Zhenhan.

As the green ray washed over him, the face of the Shepherd-Tree Elder quickly faded from a vibrant green.

"Nature’s Wrath—a magic blessing!" Elder Andulan whistled disrespectfully from the side, clicking his tongue in amazement.

Unexpectedly, this Shepherd-Tree Elder seemed to hit it off with Richard right away, granting a permanent spell even though they had just met and despite it being a rather useless life-draining magic. But this was the Ents’ once-in-a-lifetime "magic blessing" comparable to the Fairy Dragon’s "Emerald Dream"! Elder Cruyff was being exceedingly generous with Richard, wasn’t he?

"From now on, the forest is your home. Whoever harms you will invoke the wrath of the green nature," Elder Cruyff spoke while uncapping a gigantic wooden flask on his waist, dipping his finger in a sparkling element from the Spring of Elements and grazing it across his tongue. This recent magical enchantment had drained all the magic power of the Shepherd-Tree Elder.

"It’s a pity I can’t bestow upon you a flower magic." Liu Zhenhan felt quite sorry.

"Ah..." The Shepherd-Tree Elder hastily waved his hands: "Each plant has its own temperament; one cannot force it! Flowers are the most delicate and also the proudest; no one else has the right to command or direct them, except for you!"
