77 -6: The Army Presses the Border_2
Liu Zhenhan stood at the bow of the ship, his back as straight and motionless as a spear embedded into the deck.
The dark clouds grew heavier, with flashes of lightning appearing and disappearing.
The wind was strong, whipping up a mist over the sea surface.
The wailing wind blew Liu Zhenhan’s hair into his eyes, which he forcefully shook away.
The comforting melody of spirit communication rose above the roar of the angry sea, sounding poignantly.
Liu Zhenhan’s eyes mirrored the crisscrossing lights of swords in a long room, casting a cold light.
Behind him stood a row of rugged Panta Warriors, the deadly forks in their hands shimmering with an intimidating glow.
Ferguson Xu sighed, retracting his “head” that had been exposed outside his “shell”.
Black and murky waves made loud noises, spraying across the sky.
Seagulls hunting in the distance squawked desolately amid flashes of lightning, flying increasingly lower.
Approaching the Penglai ship’s bow was an advancing formation of the Sea Clan army.
Flags woven from multicolored seaweeds, displaying clear patterns, flapped fearlessly in the stormy wind.
Striking were the conspicuous emblems of crowned tridents piercing through the waves.
Four or five majestic whale warriors, each appearing divine, rode atop their orcas, patrolling back and forth, yelling wildly, orchestrating the formation.
Their iron anchors caught special attention in the lightning flashes.
Dozens of burly figures donned with red helmets and long whiskers on their heads were positioned at the four corners of the formation.
Chanting continuously, their incantations intensified the speed of the rolling black clouds and the frequency of the lightning.
Amid the low but exceptionally loud sound of a conch horn, Liu Zhenhan commanded Gude to drop the anchor.
“I need to borrow something from you,” Liu Zhenhan yanked Ferguson Xu out of his shell.
Not long after, a white flag – fashioned from a high-quality white robe – was raised on the mast of the Penglai ship.
Through the urgent sea waves, numerous silver dorsal fins swiftly swam past the ship before returning to the formation.
A golden carriage, made from coral and pulled by four sea dragons of considerable size, emerged from the sea clan’s formation.
The firm bone loops on the sea dragons’ bodies occasionally appeared above the water as they spurted enormous streams of water vapor into the sky.
Atop the carriage stood a tall and imposing figure in golden armor, clutching a golden trident.
His intense eyes pierced through the tiny gap in his helmet, staring fixedly at Liu Zhenhan standing at the ship’s bow.
With a loud cry from the sea dragons, the armored figure reined them in, waved his trident and the silver fins once again emerged, approaching the Penglai ship with astonishing speed.
In the blink of an eye, countless silver-scaled creatures catapulted out of the water.
Their grey fish bodies were spindle-shaped, nearly three knives long.
The lances that protruded from their upper jaws were strikingly noticeable.
Their large fins on their backs, after leaving the water, fluttered in the air like wings, propelling the bodies of these creatures.
Like arrows released from a bow, they sped toward Liu Zhenhan standing at the bow of the Penglai ship.
They were even faster than lightning, their spear-like jaws emanating a deadly shadow beneath the black clouds.
“Arrowfish!” Gude cried out in shock, rushing forward to protect Liu Zhenhan.
In front of the arrowfish’s speed, all movements seemed slow.
Gude had barely managed to step forward when the arrowfish arrived.
Each fish adjusted the angle of their fins in mid-air, plunging back into the black, churning waters after piercing the sky above the bow.
It was an open provocation!
The sky had turned altogether gloomy, as if it had suddenly plunged into profound darkness.
Small drops of rain were falling, only to be whisked away by the violent wind.
Gude and the Panta Warriors behind him lit torches and lanterns.
These lanterns were strange, square-shaped, appearing to be paper-mache, but they floated up into the sky.
Despite the heavy rain and wind, they stubbornly and slowly reached out to the cloud-covered sky.
The lights were a little fuzzy, but a brilliant strip of light could still be seen against the dark sea.
The Panta warriors stood in the wind, their torches sizzling and flickering in the gusts.
The golden-armoured officer in the chariot pulled by seahorses got his robust seahorses to draw close to the ship, within an arrow’s reach.
The violent waves became tame as they reached him, like a gentle stream, parting to form a path, allowing him to calmly move on.
“The merfolk of the royal Sea Clan are all experts in manipulating the Water Element.” Gude’s earnest face betrayed a hint of worry.
The golden-armoured officer stood up from the chariot made from golden coral.
Instead of a fish tail, Ferguson saw a pair of strong legs, clad in a decorated armoured skirt.
The officer looked at Ferguson with playful eyes, and Ferguson studied him closely in return.
The golden-armoured officer waved his trident, a golden shimmering scale light flashed, and a gigantic Goldlance Fish leaped out of the water, aiming straight at the white flag atop the mast.
A splendid arc flashed through the air.
The massive rudder-like tail of the Goldlance Fish whipped fiercely in the air, incredibly hitting the high-hanging white flag.
The fish elegantly hoisted the robe while floating slowly before diving into the black sea.
With a sudden explosive sound, Ferguson snatched a torch and swished it towards the Goldlance Fish in the sky.
A cluster of sparkles scattered across the night, illuminating the dark mast with a fireworks-like glow at that instant.
“Teach them what is called respect!” Ferguson roared.
A fishing fork, unstoppable in its power, made a hollow sound as its sharp triangular tip went through the eye of the Goldlance Fish and dug deep into the mast.
The spruce handle of the fork vibrated in the air.
Blood gushed out from the newly opened channel along the wooden handle.
Some of the bloods spray landed on the sail, and some fell into the sea.
The Goldlance Fish twitched its body a few times in pain and futility before stopping, its tail drooping.
In the wind, a white robe curled up alone, fluttering from the sharp and towering snout of the Goldlance Fish.
Gude was left empty-handed.
The fishing fork that was thrust into the eye of the fish was his just a moment ago.
“Damn you!” Gude roared at the army in the sea.

Thanks to Redbeard for reminding me that pandas should speak with a Sichuan dialect.
I like this book, brothers, and adding it to the list doesn’t represent my thoughts, but encourages everyone to discuss with me.
This book is majorly based on a western background, which is a certainty.
I’ve been updating like crazy these past few days, haha.
Over twenty thousand words in just two days, at this rate, I won’t even need to wait to add VIP.
So, from now on, I’ll only post one chapter a day.
It’ll be out at 9 in the morning, and I’ll be replying to the book review at 5 in the afternoon. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
