These were the strange words that affronted the Demon Lord's senses at first. This remained the only one until he was besieged by yet another feeling.
Alas, the second experience was a whole lot more violent than the first.
"BANG!"
"BANG!"
"BANG!" Ruinous bombings came from the heavens in the form of thick lightning pillars that could be seen from any part of the world.
This has invited the curiosity of many and a number of exceptionally gifted people even tried to approach the scene of catastrophe.
Unfortunately for them all, a hair sized lightning touch has slapped them back to whence they came.
"If such a tiny thing could do that to us who prided ourselves because of our powers, how much damage could these lightning pillars the size of skyscrapers inflict on the lands itself?"
This question rang loudly at the thoughts of these clever people. Every single one of them retreated in fear.

There was a different story to be told at the center of this heavenly punishment.
"Deleting target's Astral Perception ability..."

"Ability successfully deleted."

"Deleting target's Power Replication ability..."

"Ability successfully deleted."

The process continued for what seemed like an eternity yet in real time, only several minutes has passed.
Nevertheless, the Demon Lord continued to swim in a never ending ocean of electricity.
He tried to stop the invasion of the alien forces inside his body but he felt a disconnection with his powers. He may have been diminished but he was still alive.
And for him, with life comes infinite chances.

An hour after the global event has started, the same familiar beeps on the Demon Lord's ears has finally started to change.
"Deleting target's Death Immunity..."
.

"CRITICAL ERROR!"

"CRITICAL ERROR!"
"DING!"
"System failed to completely eradicate the virus."
"Initializing soul imprint upon the target."
"Soul Imprint Complete."
"Terminating Defensive Counter Measures." The genderless voice stated and then the entire world was blanketed in a flash of light.

"They are late." The Demon Lord opened his eyes and these were the first words that he spoke.
He had seen the various futures from before and many instances of them ended with him inside a dark cage that devoid of any light whatsoever.
It appeared that he caught a lucky break in reality. Not that it mattered much. He knew that he would end up as the winner either way.
"Come out, you corrupted soul." The Demon Lord whispered.
"DING!" A soft notification was heard then a few magical texts floated before the Demon Lord's eyes thereafter.

"Tell me your name." The Demon Lord tried to communicate with the thing that attached itself to his soul.
"DING!" Another soft beep answered him and the same information appeared for the second time.

"So you are a merely a mindless maggot. I see." The Demon Lord shrugged and ignored the thing completely.
Since he had lost most of his powers, he could not burn this nameless thing out of his body at this time.
Nonetheless, it did not matter much since the thing basically served nothing more than a harmless leech right now.
He instead turned his attention to his surrounding in search for available clothing to cover his body.
The heavenly punishment from before has easily devoured his precious ancient bone armors to dust which had made him stand on his birthday suit once more.
"..." The Demon Lord sharpened his senses to any animal in the distance. He knew there would be many of them lurking around since he was in a dark forest at this time.
It seemed like the final explosion of the heavenly punishment has blasted him out from that chaotic ocean of madness and dropped him into this wilderness.
"TIK!"
"TOK!"
"TIK!" Within minutes, the Demon Lord could already hear something big nearby. An animal this size would be enough to give him at least a decent garb in the aftermath.
The thick darkness showed no hindrance to the inhuman eyes of the Demon Lord. Those twin orbs glowed eerily red in the night. Like blood but with more brilliance in them.
"Another Dark Wizard?" Unfortunately for him, an old voice scared his prey away. The words came out tentative as if in question.
The anticipated guest of the night was a tall thin ancient man, with silver hair and beard. The very long and crooked nose on him looked as if it has been broken at least five times.
The old man wore full sun spectacles and a dignified purple robe that made him appear more like a teacher than anything else.
"So you finally came... Aveus." The Demon Lord said without smiling.
"How do you know my name?" The old man named Aveus asked. His right hand tightened its grip on his wand even more than usual.
Although he could sense no magic in the body of this unknown man and yet he could feel the touch of death in him. Its stench was so strong that Aveus could feel bile rising from his throat.
He tried peering into the mind of this dangerous adversary and all he could see was an infinite dark that was suffocating to the extreme.
Aveus was shocked but the only evidence he had shown for it was a slight upbeat in his breath and nothing more.
It was obvious that this old man Aveus was indeed a true expert in his own right.
