Chapter 908 Chapter 908 A Transaction

"CRACK!" Aveus Griffins left without waiting for any rebuttal from Leland. He too disapparated from the place and followed his master's tracks.

"..." Leland pondered for a few breaths and also left the scene thereafter.

Star Club, Saturday, 8 o'clock on the dot.

"He's not coming." The Demon Lord said at a woman dressed in fiery red. She had arrived in the place an hour early and since then she could not help but feel a dark foreboding in the air.

Nevertheless, the woman continued to wait there as she insisted to hold on to hope no matter how big the odds were against her at the moment.

Alas, it did not help that someone came to bother her at this time.

"You are too early for Halloween, Mister." The woman in red replied clearly in ridicule at the Demon Lord's strange garb.

Her annoyance clearly diminished the moment she got to look at her unwanted visitor's face. She did not need to like the guy to appreciate a handsome person in the flesh.

And one should know by now that the Demon Lord was an extremely attractive man by every standard. 𝑏𝑒𝑑𝘯𝑜𝘷𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝘮

"I've never been too early in anything. I arrive exactly at the right time." The Demon Lord shrugged and called for the bartender's attention.

He ordered for the hardest drink in the club and took the glass in one drag.

"More." He said to the shocked server behind the counter. It was obvious that the kind of drink he just emptied was not intended for one gulp at all.

Nonetheless, the bartender was wise since he followed the Demon Lord's command to a tee. The glass was refilled and his life was spared in the aftermath.

"..." The woman on the other hand said nothing more since he did not like the arrogant behavior of the weirdly attired yet striking man beside her.

Time continued unimpeded until the clock arrived at 9 o'clock on the dot. Her date was already 1 hour late and she could feel a sinking feeling on her stomach.

She wanted to deny her fears and doubts but they were like a cancer in her mind that kept on spreading no matter what she did. Still, the woman persevered.

She looked by the entrance once more and her eyes stayed there for a few minutes but the man in her heart remained nowhere to be seen.

"He's not coming... Agent Robinson." The Demon Lord said once again but this time his words struck further credence into the woman.

She wanted to retort in anger but she was stopped by a finger on her lips.

"If you want to see him again then you better come to me alone." With these words, the Demon Lord stood up and left the place thereafter.

A commotion broke out when the bar counter slowly turned into gold. The Demon Lord may be many things but no one could say that he was not a great tipper after this event.

"Wait!" Meg Robinson shouted late as if she was put under a spell of some sort. She rushed outside and found not even the shadow of that handsome man.

A whole week later and more than a dozen covert soldiers tried to infiltrate a newly bought mansion in New York City. Its owner was filthy rich but of unknown origin.

For all intents and purposes, they just appeared out of nowhere. It was unfortunate that this simple snatch and grab job would ultimately turn fatal for a number of those who came.

"Poison Rain!"

"Binding Hex!" Leland and Aveus Griffins said one after another. Half died while the other half survived in that engagement. But not before acquiring an unforgettable gift in consequence.

"You never change, Griffins. Let me show you how it's done. Soul Burn!"

Leland had his fun on the living 6 and forced unto them a nightmarish experience that would haunt them for a long long time. This torture went on for hours.

The Demon Lord did not even have to lift one finger in that skirmish. This was the sole reason why he brought his slaves in the first place.

"It's out of my hands. Someone high above is keeping a tight lid on this operation. Those three cannot be touched." Colonel Stephen Murray announced.

He had become a whole lot older in just a few days. The stress that he might be feeling from his superiors was quite considerable indeed for him to appear in that state.

"I'll do what i can, Meg." Adam Smith said.

"I understand, Adam." Meg Robinson could not look at the two men. If not for her then 6 men should not have to die and the other 6 turn into empty men with shattered psyches in their heads.

Twelve lives were ruined and they got no gain to show for it.

More than a month later and one woman could be seen walking into the biggest and grandest mansion in New York City.

"Welcome, Miss Robinson. My master is waiting for you upstairs." An old man in a long purple cloak greeted the beautiful woman into the abode.

This was of course none other than Meg Robinson herself. She was here to change destiny for all of them.

"It appears that you're in mourning rather than someone who is about to have an enjoyable tryst with me. But such minor distinctions make no difference at all.

I shall take what you have to offer. Nothing more." The Demon Lord commented. He met his guest inside his private sanctum and the place looked like a whole arena with how big it was.

To call this a mere room would be a great understatement.

"Show me Miles Walker and you will get everything you want from me." Meg Robinson replied directly. She was not a fool to not know what this dangerous man wanted out of her.

She had been bugged by men like this for the entirely of her adult life. So it was not something alien to her at all.
