Born Into Villain's Family: I Have a 200\% Rebate System-Chapter 105: Alex’s Whereabout
Chapter 105: Chapter 105: Alex’s Whereabout
Aurora chuckled inwardly; however, on the surface, she showed a troubled expression and said,
"But brother....Olivia is telling the truth."
Theodore: "..." How uncute.
"Okay, don’t crowd around her. She needs rest." Lucas reminded; however, his red eyes indicated how happy he was.
Adam nodded, but his eyes brimmed with tears, too.
Aurora nodded; she felt a strange kind of happiness.
Finally, she has returned to her original world.
"Aurora, can you now answer some of my questions?" Olivia asked.
Aurora blinked before nodding,
"Alright."
"How did you know you would fall into a coma? Could you hear us during the coma? And most importantly, what did you see during your coma?" Olivia asked with curiosity.
"I... had a feeling something was going to happen to me before I fell into the coma," she admitted slowly.
"It was just a strange premonition, like a voice in my head telling me to be prepared."
Olivia frowned. "A premonition? So, you knew you’d be asleep for three years?"
Aurora nodded,
"Also, I can hear your voice and everyone else’s voice, however...I only have a memory of what had been said in the first 6 months."
Suddenly, she thought of Alex and asked,
"Um...mother...during my coma I heard...my half brother’s voice too...where is he?"
At her word, the atmosphere stilled.
Mary’s expression darkened slightly, and she hesitated before answering.
The rest of the family exchanged uncertain glances, and Aurora immediately sensed that something was off.
Olivia pursed her lips before sighing. "Alex... he’s gone."
Aurora’s heart skipped a beat.
"Gone? What do you mean, gone? Did something happen to him?"
Mary took a deep breath, her fingers clutching the fabric of her sleeve.
"After you fell into a coma, he disappeared after 6 months. We don’t know where he went. At first, we thought he was just staying away because of everything that happened, but as time passed, there was no trace of him anywhere."
Aurora frowned.
"No trace at all? Didn’t anyone look for him?"
Lucas nodded.
"We did for months. But it was like he vanished into thin air. No financial activity, no sightings... nothing."
Aurora’s grip on the blanket tightened. Alex had spoken to her during her coma.
"Did he say anything before he disappeared?" she asked.
Adriana hesitated before answering,
"He only left a short note. It said... ’I’ll not harm you all.’ And then he was gone."
Aurora’s brows knitted together.
A strange feeling settled in her chest. She couldn’t shake off the idea that Alex’s disappearance wasn’t as simple as it seemed.
She looked at Mary, who was unusually quiet. Her mother seemed conflicted, as if she wanted to say something but held herself back.
"Mother," Aurora pressed gently. "Is there something else I should know?"
Mary’s eyes flickered with emotion, but she shook her head. "No... Just rest for now. We can talk about all this later."
Aurora exhaled slowly. She knew when her mother was hiding something, but for now, she let it go.
"Alright," she murmured.
The next day, the doctor came back with the reports and announced a shocking news,
"The Wilms tumor...is it gone?"
It was a pleasant surprise, and everyone cheered, except Aurora.
She waiting for the chance to be alone and have a proper conversation with Emily.
Emily seemed to have wanted to report Aurora of a lot of things, too.
When Aurora was discharged the next day, she, along with Adam and Mary, went to the place where they were living apartment.
It was an 8-bedroom apartment.
Aurora’s eyes widened as she stepped into her room.
The soft glow of warm fairy lights lined the walls, casting a gentle, golden hue over everything.
The walls, once plain, were now painted in a soft lavender shade, blending perfectly with the delicate floral patterns on the curtains.
A large bed sat in the center, covered in a plush white duvet with lilac and silver embroidery.
Neatly arranged on the pillows were stuffed animals—some she recognized as her childhood favorites, while others seemed to be new additions.
A cozy reading nook had been set up by the window, complete with a cushioned bench and shelves filled with books she had loved before the coma, along with newer ones that had been carefully chosen for her.
"Aurora?" Mary’s voice was gentle. "Do you like it?"
Aurora turned, her throat tight with emotion. "I love it," she whispered.
"Good," Mary said and then settled her on the bed.
After chatting for a while, she left.
Soon, Emily entered the room and closed the door behind her.
The woman who had changed the most for Aurora was Emily.
Just a few years ago, Emily still looked like a normal housewife, but now, she looked as if she was some professional businesswoman.
"How are you now?" Emily asked softly.
Aurora smiled and answered,
"Great."
Then her eyes fell on Emily’s stomach, and she asked with a smile,
"How about the little one? You didn’t bring her?"
Emily had told her during her coma that the baby was a girl, and Aurora was truly happy.
The smile on Emily’s face froze, and her eyes moistened.
Aurora had an ominous premonition in her heart. Sure enough, the next second, Emily covered her face and sobbed.
"I....I lost...her...I...mis...carried..."
For a moment, Aurora was frozen, unable to process what she had just heard.
Then, without hesitation, she reached forward and pulled Emily into a tight embrace.
"I’m so sorry," Aurora whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "I’m so, so sorry, Emily..."
Emily clutched the fabric of Aurora’s clothes, shaking her head.
"I was so careful... I did everything right... but I still lost her..." Her voice broke, raw and filled with pain. "It...it was all because of that b*stard!"
Aurora gritted her teeth and said,
"Don’t worry. Sophia must have put him in jail, right?"
At her words, Emily cried even more and said,
"No...Sophia...she betrayed us!" fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
