Born To Rise In Konoha-Chapter 104
Chapter 104: Chapter 104
Naturally, the other two noticed the stone in Saitama’s hand. Their expressions turned serious.
"This must be how we were discovered," Saitama said, examining the stone carefully. "I’m not sure how it works, but we’d better make sure to avoid these things from now on."
He glanced toward Hyuga Dun.
"Understood," Hyuga Dun replied, activating his Byakugan. "There’s chakra inside the stone, but it’s faint. It doesn’t emit like a normal chakra source. No wonder it slipped past us."
"I’ll take the lead," Dun said, nodding.
"Keep moving," said Aburame Ruifeng, adjusting his sunglasses, which caught a glint of sunlight. "My kikaichū left at the rear are returning pheromone signals. Someone’s following us."
"Alright, Dun, you take point," Saitama ordered calmly.
"...Hn." Saitama’s ears twitched. He could faintly hear a whistling sound in the air—distant, but growing closer. Not an immediate threat yet, but definitely danger approaching.
"Let’s move!" Saitama urged.
The three pressed on. This time, Hyuga Dun deliberately guided them around chakra-laced stones, his Byakugan scanning the terrain with precision. Their pace slowed, but Ruifeng’s kikaichū stopped signaling pursuit.
"Haa..." Hyuga Dun wiped the sweat from his brow as the woods thinned ahead.
"I think we’ve shaken them," he said, finally allowing himself to deactivate his Byakugan. Keeping it active for so long had drained him.
"Stay alert. Keep the pace steady," Saitama warned. He, too, sensed no chakra signatures behind them now—proof that they’d lost their trackers. Or so it seemed.
"Huh?" Just as Saitama began to relax, his body stiffened. In the distance, his chakra perception picked up faint signals—several of them.
"Get ready for combat," he warned sharply, gesturing to his teammates.
"What is it?" Hyuga Dun asked, confused.
"Enemies ahead," Saitama replied, squinting into the woods.
"That’s impossible. I should’ve seen them!" Dun reactivated his Byakugan.
"Damn it..." His face darkened. "There are seven ahead. Two are jōnin."
"It’s too late to circle around. More may be behind us. We’ll break through," Saitama said calmly.
"There are seven of them!" Dun’s voice rose slightly, tense.
"I’ll take the jōnin. The other five are yours. Can you handle it?" Saitama asked, turning to his teammates.
"Two jōnin? Are you sure?" Hyuga Dun asked, remembering how Saitama had defeated him in the past—but two elite ninja were a different matter.
"You just need to handle the others. Quickly," Saitama said, already forming a plan.
"Alright." Ruifeng spoke softly but confidently. His kikaichū had long warned him of Saitama’s strength. As long as they took out the lower-ranked shinobi swiftly, they could back him up.
"...Okay!" Dun gritted his teeth. He had no choice but to trust Saitama now.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
The three dropped all stealth and raced toward the wooded area. The enemy emerged into view.
"Well, look who finally showed up," one of the enemy ninja sneered. "No more hiding, little mice!"
These shinobi had been tracking the Konoha team using an unknown method. When the trail went cold, they had blocked the woods—knowing their targets would pass through here eventually. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
"Hmph." Hyuga Dun narrowed his eyes, his Byakugan already scanning.
"Make it quick," Saitama said sharply—and with no further words, lunged.
One of the enemy jōnin was caught off guard as Saitama charged.
"Trying to die, kid?!" he shouted.
But Saitama’s speed was lightning-fast. Electricity crackled along his limbs, and his Sharingan activated—one tomoe in each eye spinning rapidly.
"Kill them!" the enemy shouted. The group charged forward.
Ten meters from the enemy, Saitama’s right leg tensed—then launched him forward like a bolt of lightning.
The sword in his hand surged with Lightning Release chakra, crackling menacingly.
He locked eyes on the enemy jōnin who had spoken. With a burst of speed, Saitama closed the ten-meter gap in under a second.
"Dead," he said coldly.
The jōnin’s eyes widened—but it was too late. Saitama’s blade slashed cleanly across his throat.
Splat! The jōnin’s head hit the ground with a dull clang of metal.
Seconds into the battle, one jōnin was dead.
Without pausing, Saitama turned to the second jōnin. His blade clashed with a kunai—clang!—but the shock on the enemy’s face was clear.
"Who are you?!" he gasped.
"Konoha shinobi," Saitama replied. His Sharingan glowed red, deadly calm.
The enemy lost all fighting spirit after witnessing his comrade’s instant death. He raised his hands in surrender.
"W-wait! I—" he began.
Saitama gave him no chance. One clean slash severed the kunai, then the enemy’s throat.
Meanwhile, Hyuga Dun surged forward.
"Eight Trigrams: Thirty-Six Palms!"
His hands struck with lightning speed, closing the chakra points of three enemy genin in seconds.
Thud! Thud! Thud! Their bodies dropped as Dun struck them once more, finishing them off with deadly precision.
"Haagh!" Another enemy screamed, his body consumed by Ruifeng’s kikaichū.
His teammates could only watch in horror as the insects devoured him alive, muffling his cries.
The last enemy, seeing his entire team fall in moments, turned to flee.
"No—don’t kill me!"
He took only a few steps before Ruifeng’s bugs swarmed him too, encasing him in a buzzing, writhing cocoon.
Hyuga Dun stared at Saitama, shocked. The fight had ended in under a minute. Saitama, calm and quiet, had felled two jōnin with terrifying ease.
"So strong..." Dun muttered, looking at the genin he had faced—and how much effort they’d taken.
"I was arrogant to ever challenge him," he admitted to himself, fists clenched.
"If you’re finished, let’s keep moving," Saitama said, sliding his sword back into its sheath. "There could still be pursuers behind us."
"Understood," Dun replied, adjusting his posture.
"My insects are depleted," said Ruifeng. "They need to rest." Though it looked effortless, he knew how much chakra he’d spent directing his bugs to overwhelm two chunin.
