Mira woke up with a smile. It was a great day to be alive and pregnant. She yawned, stretching.

Hye Yang’s face should be covered with insect bite marks already and she would be losing her mind. Hye Yang was always obsessed with her beauty so one thing for sure was, she would not dare step a foot in the land that ruined that.

The life growing in her belly was proof. Both of their lives. "Did it have something to do with last night?" He said. His head was now resting on her thighs. Mira let him lie on her. She used a hand to arrange the hair falling down his face while patting him. She was way too excited.

"Yes." She muttered. "Bonding with the cubs was way more exciting than I anticipated. I hope to do it again." She chorused. While she had the most fun sabotaging, she could not deny that what happened later was nice.

They surrounded her for their reward. She served them pieces of it. Then they went rogue and decided to swim their adrenaline in a pond close to the pride homes. After then, she read them a folklore and took their already exhausted and sleepy selves home.

Although she made them swear something. To keep what they did to the foxes’ property secret and she would cook them more meat and as far as blackmail went, that worked way easier than she expected.

As long as there is a line of consumers, there will always be a supply and she was using her goods to the fullest. She should open a meat store in the pride. As far as beast world riches go, she would be rich!

Jia Hao cleared his throat. This made Mira snap back into reality.

"Yes, my king?" She whispered.

Jia Hao’s ears moved. It was fun to witness, no matter how many times she referred to him that way, he always loved it. And it always earned her system points.

By long while, he meant since she got pregnant. Mira had been something else since she got pregnant, she put the word ’grumpy’ to shame.

Mira kept stroking his head. "A lot. Most of which I would tell you later." She wanted to leave the confinement of the room and check up on Hye Yang herself. She just had to see her sister’s misery first hand. It would be rewarding.

"But I need to check on the wellbeing of my sister." Mira added. Her voice was laced with fake concern. Jia Hao bought the act.

"Before freshening up, or after?" He asked.

Mira grinned so hard she thought her no would burst out her cheeks to the sides of her face. Her heart made a back flip. "Right now."

By now, Hye Yang should be losing her mind. She should be yelling and destroying the mental health of her companions for packing flea infested fur clothing. Little would Hye Yang suspect that it was me. The miscreants who planted bugs on their property were furry lion cubs under my jurisdiction. Just the thought made Mira chirpier.

Jia Hao raised his head up her thighs, a slow begrudging movement. He did not want Mira to go. He was enjoying her scent and her warmth. It was rare having her peaceful but the last thing he wanted was to ruin the peace and be back to square one.

A happy Mira meant a happy life, he said to himself.

Jia Hao got up the bed and walked to Mira’s side. With a hand at her back and the other holding her from the front, he helped her stand while she used his body as a pillar. "I will take you to your sister." He said. "See? Maybe it was a good thing letting her stay the night."

Ha! The only good about that was chaos she was about to witness. Mira smiled widely and giggled. "I guess so." She responded.

Jia Hao took a different turn from the path she knew. It was a different road entirely.

Mira’s brows narrowed but she stayed quiet, following him. He was the ruler of the pride, of course he knew several routes to every home within his domain.

Jia Hao began taking strange turns that did not look familiar. Not even once. Now Mira was worried. Whose quarters did she raid with pests? She gulped. She hoped it was not one of the lions. That would be terrible.

Jia Hao looked at her. "To meet your sister."

Mira gulped. "This route looks different from the one I remember."

"I thought it fitting to give the sister of my wife a better place to reside in during her short visit. Especially since she came all the way for your good."
