Captured By The Cold Detective (BL)-Chapter 31: No One Will See

"What did you just say?" Mu Yuze’s lips moved, his dense lashes tickling the surface of He Juan’s palm like the scritch of a kitten’s claw, very ticklish and numbing.

He Juan could not move his gaze away from Mu Yuze’s light colored lips. He had just tasted it before and as expected, it was oh so soft and so addictive... Just one taste was enough for it to be engraved into the depth of He Juan’s mind. He subconsciously licked his lips as ravenous desire surged up his chest again.

Mu Yuze had always been so defenseless in front of him. Even now, with He Juan’s palm blocking his vision, he did not even try to do anything about that.

It was like... Mu Yuze trusted him with his all... that no matter what, He Juan would not hurt him.

The revelation struck him right on the gut and knocked the air out of his lungs. He Juan huffed out a brief chuckle. Oh God, how could this man be so gullible, so naive and adorable to boot?

The feeling of being trusted so wholeheartedly by a stranger he had only met for a day, not to mention after all of the atrocious deeds he had committed yesterday, was so heady that it made He Juan a little dizzy. He could not help but wonder, if he were to lean in and kiss Mu Yuze again, would he finally react? If he were to trail his lips along the elegant line of Mu Yuze’s jaw down to his neck, lapping at his scent gland that was covered by the patch, would Mu Yuze finally push him away?

"Juan-gege...?"

Mu Yuze’s voice snapped him out of his reverie and he sucked in a sharp breath. For God’s sake, He Juan, what were you thinking?!

He had just said that he would court this omega properly and as an Alpha, he definitely had to keep his words! As such, He Juan curbed all of his maddening desire to the graveyard of his mind and finally lowered his hand. Mu Yuze’s striking dark eyes once again fluttered open to peer at him in inquiry.

By then, He Juan’s countenance had returned to normal and a teasing smile curled on the corner of his lips. "So, it’s ’Juan-gege’ again?"

Earlier, he had been disheartened by Mu Yuze’s cold alienation as well as his formal address. But now, upon hearing the sweet ’Juan-gege’ coming out of his alluring lips once again, He Juan could not help the surge of joy and delight that permeated his chest. It was truly unbelievable how one gesture from Mu Yuze was enough to stir up his emotions like no other. And the worst thing was, the omega did not even realize what he had done!

Mu Yuze froze, seemingly just realizing that he had made a mistake. He pursed his lips tight and said, "Public space."

"Hmm?"

"Earlier... we are in the public." Mu Yuze’s expression twisted as though it pained him physically to say even one more word. The tip of his ears became even redder as he fixed his glare on He Juan’s collar. "In public, we have to remain formal."

"Ah..." He Juan exclaimed softly in realization. "You’re right."

Outside, they were practically strangers. Mu Yuze was a police officer on duty while He Juan was a crucial suspect to the case he was investigating. Acting so intimately would not do him any good. Who knew what kind of repercussions Mu Yuze would receive once his higher-ups caught wind of it? They would think that Mu Yuze had given him preferential treatment! Only now did He Juan realize how careless he was. His mindless act could have cost Mu Yuze his job!

Once realization dawned on him, He Juan immediately wilted like a wet puppy. "It’s my fault... I should have thought about this sooner. I’m sorry, Officer Mu. I will keep it in mind next time."

Just as He Juan was wallowing in self-depreciation, Mu Yuze suddenly added, the words sounded as though it was forced out through gritted teeth "...Xiao Ze is fine. There’s no one but the two of us now."

He Juan whipped his head up in time to see Mu Yuze turning his face away to roll up the window. A beautiful hue of pink crawled up the fair skin on his neck and made him look like a ripe peach.

"Xiao Ze..." He Juan’s heart soared and his smile widened in giddy happiness. "En, I will listen to you."

Mu Yuze was right. Outside, they had to keep their relationship strictly formal. But when it was the two of them... they were free to act however they wanted because no one would judge them. After all, they were human beings, an Alpha and Omega, before their status as the prime suspect and police officer.

Now that He Juan knew he was wrong, cold sweat broke out on his back as he scanned the area outside, especially the hospital that was right in front of them. "I’ve just kissed you just now... No one has caught it, right?"

Mu Yuze cooly responded. "My windows are tinted black so no one can peer inside."

"Good... that’s good." He Juan released a huge sigh of relief. His mind had already gotten ahead of him as he conjured up the scenario where someone had snapped a photo of them kissing and spread it on the internet. Mu Yuze would be questioned by the higher-ups and then get fired due to developing an inappropriate relationship which ended up getting in the way of the investigation. Just thinking about it was enough to give He Juan goosebumps. Fortunately, it did not happen. He let out a soft laugh at his wild imagination. "Xiao Ze’s car is still better. Nobody will see us this way."

"...Mn," came Mu Yuze’s quiet response.

All of a sudden, the atmosphere in the car became a little strange. It took He Juan two full seconds to realize how ambiguous his sentence sounded. His smile froze and he hastily corrected, flustered. "No, it’s not like that, Xiao Ze!" He Juan palmed his forehead, an exasperated look on his face. "It’s not like I will do something to you just because no one can see us—"

"You won’t?" Mu Yuze raised his brow, his expression was saying, ’so what about that kiss earlier?’

He Juan almost choked on his breath. He coughed lightly, his face warming up. "Xiao Ze, just now, it was..."

Mu Yuze’s dark eyes seemed to twinkle like a ray of light that spilled to the depth of the ocean, so mesmerizing that they stole the words out of He Juan’s lips. "I am telling you so that you know. No need to be afraid because..." His lashes shook as he lowered his gaze, murmuring in a voice so quiet that only both of them could hear. "...no one will see us."
