Cartel Experience-Chapter 34: Priorities.
One thing about César was that he never understood just how reckless he truly was. He never stopped to consider the danger of the situations he threw himself into, and yet, time and again, he repeated the same mistakes. Walking straight into the police station was already a terrible decision, but he did it without hesitation, unaware that the System would demand he kill Hoffa, and unaware that Sirina herself would be there at that exact moment.
On top of that, he couldn’t know that she had never truly left... she had stayed close enough to witness César jumping over the fence and sprinting somewhere stained in blood.
Yeah Sirina saw all of it, not just her, but her chauffeur as well, and the other agents who were in the car. Every one of them witnessed it.
"How did you know it, miss?" The chauffeur asked as she ordered him to park near the parking lot there. "I mean, the chance that he was going to do something was low, wasn’t it?"
"No, actually, it was high, far more than high." Sirina began. "He is young, charismatic, intelligent, but in the same way reckless, not careless or stupid, but reckless in the sense that he believes he can face anything placed in front of him and come out on top, the kind of man who goes head-on into obstacles, problems, and threats without stopping to consider another path, because stepping back is something he simply does not know how to do."She shook her hand slightly, letting out a quiet sigh. "A typical DCA agent."
Well, the misunderstanding was truly spiraling out of control, but the thing was, César was exactly like a DCA agent, because they’re a fucking mystery. They don’t show up in suits or with badges, but in plain clothes, doing whatever they need. They don’t follow protocol, court orders, warrants, or anything, they act however they have to to get what they want. And the fact that they’re backed by the fucking government, by high-ranking motherfuckers, just makes it all worse.
Though Sirina said something that got the agent’s attention.
"Oh... so he went head-on against you?"
"Yes. No matter what I did, whether I pushed him, tried to control the situation, pressured him, acted calm and distant, or even threatened him, he never backed down."
That had been her biggest takeaway from the entire conversation with César. The fact that he dared to threaten her at all had been enough.
"But what do you mean by more than a DCA agent, miss?" The chauffeur asked again, clearly confused by that part.
He could not understand how someone could be something bigger than that.
"Everyone knows DCA agents are the worst." She sighed. "They do whatever it takes to get the money they need." She paused again and a faint smile spread on her face. "But this man was part of Group Four and that is why I already knew he would act."
The silence that followed was the silence where everybody in the car started putting all the pieces together.
"So." one of the agents began. "He came to Hoffa for the same reason we did, but I assume the deal went wrong so he killed him. Which also means the gangs Hoffa gathered under his control are now going to be under the DCA."
"The opposite." The chauffeur joined in again. "A war... the DCA always wants war, to see who comes out on top and get their hands on them. Why would they do anything while these gangs are busy killing each other off? No, they just wait to see who’s still alive and then move against them."
"Then why wouldn’t we just... kidnap him and torture him a bit?" Another agent spoke, and what followed was everybody eyeing him in silence. "Why not?"
"You remember what happened to the IDS Director when they killed two DCA agents?" Sirina asked, eyeing him. "How crazy is that? Two agents died, two agents, not even higher-ranking ones, just simple agents." She let out a laugh. "I do not want that to happen to me, so we will make sure to let every agent know we do not touch him, nor are we getting involved in this. We will monitor it, but not take action."
The silence was understandable, as were Sirina’s reasons... if you fuck with the DCA, you fuck with your own life and it’s not even just about Sirina, it’s about the whole agency. They could destroy everything, the amount of power they the DCA has is simply too much.
"But he still killed Hoffa though, the police are going to go after him." The chauffeur said.
"Yeah, only the police and nobody else. Once the DCA is involved, it is not going to go up to any other agency, so they are on their own, and I am sure César has people inside the police, which also means not even one single piece of evidence will be presented." She sighed again. "Beautiful and peaceful city... it is always the government that fucks up its own people... always."
What a truth that is. It’s always the government that ends up fucking over its own people... the very people who elected them. They raise taxes, push healthcare into the private sector, and now they’re sending the DCA to disrupt a capital city that has never known war... though it is a complete misunderstanding at least... the DCA part of it.
But at least, for now, it would help César succeed... until the DCA sent their real agents and he got fucked. Until then, he could finally build up the Sierra Cartel... with none other than the Red Rarity Special card.
And oh man, he was ready to summon the three most psychopathic, manic motherfuckers to help him, though for a second he thought about something else.
"Should I summon Jessica, that big, soft ass, that pale skin... and the way she sucked w— 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
[System: First, Jessica was a prostitute and if you use the card on her, I will deactivate myself forever. Second, you are covered in blood after killing the chief of police, and you’re now on the run. Don’t you think it’s odd to be thinking about a prostitute and the sexual conduct you had with her instead of finding a place to stay, maybe even getting yourself clean?]
"Don’t worry, there is a clothing store at the end of the alleyway. I can change there and then head to the hotel." silence for a bit. "Though... Jessica was one of a kind. Her technique was just crazy."
[System: She was the one who bit off the tip of your penis, which then required you to use the Heal card.]
"Yeah." César laughed, remembering that moment. "Maybe I shouldn’t have fucked her sister..."
He had done insane things, and insane things had happened to him in his past lives... but now it was getting even wilder with the card, and with the power it promised.
Maybe this time, he could finally reach the top.
