Cartel Experience-Chapter 55: Summon.
While César made his way to the address Clara had given him, a small garage on the outskirts of the city and the perfect place to summon the three people who will become the pillars of the family, a very different kind of energy was unfolding somewhere else.
"We need to pop champagne right now!"
"Sir, it would be better if you calmed down a little."
"Calm down?" He asked back. "I come back to my little wellness and the first thing I hear is that two Secret Service contractors got killed?" He smiled. "This is the best day of my life. I like this mystery guy even more now." He laughed again, loud and careless, but the younger man was not enjoying it at all, and he noticed it. "What’s wrong, Eric? Be happy."
"Well, up until now, I thought it was a good thing." Eric said as he finally sat down on the chair. "But now everyone is involved, from the NSA to the Secret Service, and on top of that the SIB too." He sighed. "They will want to drag us into this as well, and in the end it could lead to a government shutdown, maybe even a—"
"You’re thinking too far into the future." The Director began. "What they are doing right now is pulling each other deeper into this political mess, and the situation is too perfect for it. All the agencies are against each other. One wants more influence in the political sector, while the other wants control over selected ministers and high-ranking officials." He shook his head slowly. "Even the SIB was sent here, probably by one of the ministers or the prime minister, who knows, but their orders are clear. They want to get our mystery man, and at the same time push their political agenda." He leaned back in the chair and sighed
"That exactly leads to a coup, sir." Erik said as he was still worried about it. "If the truth comes out that Hoffa and his drugs are connected all the way to the government, there will be mass protests against the government, no doubt about it."
"Well, at least in that situation we benefit even more." The Director laughed. "Chaos is the best place for darkness. It is the best place for people like us. That’s probably why the mystery man did it, to cause chaos, to push the agencies against each other, to make the political sides fire up, all so he can move in the shadows. But who cares?" He leaned forward, looking directly at Erik. "We are making billions while these people are killing each other for political moves and influence. We just need to sit back, relax."
The very thing Sirina explained was that the DCA exists for the money and for controlling the criminal underworld, not for political power, because they don’t need it, but Eric was right too, and he still held onto his point as he began to speak.
"What if the mystery man starts his business here? Then we will have to act, but if we act, we will be dragged straight into this mess."
For a full minute, the Director said nothing. He just sat there, staring at the ceiling as if he was counting something invisible, and only then did he speak. "Every mess can be solved," he said calmly, "by bullets, by money, or by blackmail." He lowered his gaze and looked straight at Erik. "We have the largest amount of blackmail material on almost everyone in the government, so like I said, we sit back and relax until the moment we need to move. But when we move..." the same foolish and manic smile César had worn before. "We will be the definition of chaos."
Silence filled the room once again as the two of them stared at each other, but from Erik’s side, none of it made sense.
"But all of our agents are stationed at the border regions. The only people we have here are technicians, communication specialists, and coordinators. We have no agents in the capital sir."
It was the truth, not a single field agent was present, and pulling them back from their missions would mean complete failure, though Erik realized too late that he had forgotten one important detail.
"Erik, we are both agents, aren’t we?"
The moment he asked it, Erik knew... his entire body knew it as goosebumps raced over his skin, because this was the worst possible situation. The only time the Director would step away from his big chair and leave his high-rise office is when DCA agents have died.
And when that happens, people die... a lot of them and now he was telling him that they would both act as agents.
"But of course, something truly enormous would have to happen for us to act." the director continued with a faint smile on his face. "But I doubt it will. So relax, Eric."
Well... there was somebody who was about to do something enormous that will change the capital city for sure.
"Activate it."

"I want to summon Matteo Santorini, Hugo Bauer, and Arlo Grant." He was certain in them after reading the stats that the System provided for him while he was walking.
The three of them were loyal, loyal to death, and even beyond that and each of them had their own specialty in his past lives.
Matteo’s field was cartel infrastructure. From the hierarchy down to the production lines, warehouses, and trafficking routes, he knew everything, the mind of the family.
Hugo was César’s right-hand man, he was almost like him, but more controlled, more of a tinkerer than a reckless fighter.
Lastly Arlo... well, he was the butcher of the family.
And now all three of them will come back to their roles and be under César.
