CASSANDRA: The Unfavored Princess-Chapter 126: Book Wizard
Cassandra walked into the library. Her eyes sparkled with excitement.
The rows of books stood in front of her. There was a smile on Princess Cassandra’s face.
’There are so many of these.’
’More than what the Elvira Empire has.’
[Don’t look elsewhere.] The voices in Princess Cassandra’s mind said [We have to find a book]
’A book? Which book?’
Princess Cassandra looked back. Amy was still following her. It was an unusual feeling for Cassandra.
Princess Cassandra remembered her days in the Elvira Empire. None of the ladies in waiting were allowed to enter the library. Princess Cassandra was happy that at least her friend could accompany her.
[Don’t be distracted. Continue walking forward.]
Princess Cassandra smiled playfully. She wanted to tease the elements a little. ’How can you feel the presence of a book? Are you a book wizard?’
[Not at all. We are more precious than that. We are the writing subject.]
Princess Cassandra shook her head. She did not understand what the elements we’re talking about anymore. Princess Cassandra looked at Amy who stopped in her step looking at the Princess pause.
"You want to look at the books Amy?" Princess Cassandra asked as she saw the excitement in Amy’s eyes.
Amy nodded her head but soon her smiling face froze. [But I cannot leave the Princess alone.] Amy’s thoughts were visible on her face.
Princess Cassandra shook her head. "I will be behind that bookshelf. You can look around." Princess Cassandra took a step forward as she said in Amy’s ears. "They will not kill me. They need me, Amy."
Amy’s eyes widened as she heard the fifth Princess Cassandra words. "So don’t worry and look around freely."
Amy nodded her head but her gaze still kept looking at the fifth Princess. She wanted to take a step forward and follow her but her steps paused. ’Princess Cassandra wants to be alone.’
Amy took a deep breath as she moved her sight to the books. Soon she took some books in her hands.
—-----
Princess Cassandra walked towards the direction told by the elements. There were old books kept in that direction. Cassandra could keep the deja vu with the situation she was in now. The diary which only she could read was also found in a place like this in the Elvira Empire.
’Did you bring me here for it?’ Princess Cassandra thought as she touched a few books. Her steps were slow as she walked through the shelf looking at every book.
[We should complete reading, once we start right.] The elements said which made Princess Cassandra’s lips curl up.
’So the other half of the diary is here?’
Princess Cassandra stopped as she took a step back to look at the books. She was worried about how to search for it.
[We can find it. You worry too much.]
’How can you say that? You stay in my soul and do not have to work. I think I have to open each and every book from here just to know which one is it?’
Princess Cassandra sighed as she looked down in disappointment. She could not help but feel distressed.
[What do you mean by that? Take your words back. We are the ones who help you the most.]
’More like creating more problems.’ Princess Cassandra complained. ’Let’s find the book.’
Princess Cassandra shook her head to remove all the negative thoughts from her mind. Her gaze was focused on the huge things in front of her. "Let’s go."
Princess Cassandra took a deep breath as she started removing the books one by one and opening them. Cassandra wanted to see the familiar language she knew. Princess Cassandra closed and kept the book in the place once she knew that it was not the book she was looking for.
Princess Cassandra did not want anyone from the Vivere Kingdom to know what she was truly doing here.
Princess Cassandra did not know how many books she had searched but she did not find the one she was searching for. Princess Cassandra could only sigh.
’Where can the book be?’
’You both knew that the book was somewhere here right?’
’You might know which one of these is the diary that we want to search.’
’Hello?’
’Are you there?’
Princess Cassandra was losing her patience. Whenever she really needs the element’s help they seem to go into meditation. They never reply.
’You both can only order I guess.’ Princess Cassandra shook her head. She did not want to continue. Cassandra was tired and yet less than half of the books were only seen.
’I will come later. Let’s go to Amy.’ Princess Cassandra decided. She did not know when she might come to call her.
Princess Cassandra walked as she started searching for her lady in waiting but something made her halt in her step.
Cassandra looked up as she saw a similar cover. It was way above her hand but Cassandra was sure that it was the book she was searching for. Cassandra had sacrificed her sleep writing the book for the Duke so how can she forget how the book looked.
’There it is.’ Princess Cassandra’s eyes glowed in excitement. She moved towards the bookshelf. Cassandra raised her hands but she could not touch the book. It was way above her height. Even Though Princess Cassandra was standing on her toes she could not reach it.
’Just a little bit more.’ Cassandra thought and yet she could not reach.
Disheartened, Princess Cassandra was about to give it up but soon a shadow covered her body. Cassandra’s heart skipped a beat. She could not move.
Princess Cassandra knew the presence was overbearing. She closed her eyes as Cassandra took deep breaths. She took a step on the side before she turned around and greeted the person who stopped her actions.
"Grand Duke." Princess Cassandra said as she looked up. Her gaze stayed on the man who was looking down at her.
"You are struggling to get a single book." The Grand Duke laughed as he moved to remove the book the fifth Princess wanted but soon his actions were stopped by Cassandra.
"It’s fine. I cannot ask the Grand Duke to do this for me." Princess Cassandra said in a low tone but before the Grand Duke could reply Princess Cassandra saw Duke Salvador disguised as Ed, coming her way.
"Ed." Princess Cassandra smiled as she took a breath of relief. "Get me that book. We cannot trouble the Grand Duke."
Aiden looked between the fifth Princess and the Grand Duke for a second before his eyes narrowed. He could not figure out what had gone wrong between the two but Duke Salvador knew that the fifth Princess needed his help.
Aiden nodded as he cut through and took the book the fifth Princess was pointing at. If he would have known that something like this would happen, Aiden would have refused Lord Bentham’s words.
Princess Cassandra received the book as she smiled at the Grand Duke. "We will leave now."
Princess Cassandra took hold of Aiden’s hand as she walked past the Grand Duke while not giving a single gaze to him.
"Princess," The Grand Duke’s words made Princess Cassandra’s steps pause. She looked back slowly.
"Yes."
Grand Duke’s words made Princess trembled. "Make sure to keep yourself safe, otherwise you yourself will visit the place you made your mother visit."
Princess Cassandra did not know what the Grand Duke was thinking but his words were not at all friendly. Cassandra was losing her patience. There were so many things to handle and she felt like everything was running out of her hold.
Princess Cassandra chuckled. She took a step forward as her eyes sharpened. "Where did I send my mother? The Grand Duke must be kidding me. My mother left me before I could even understand anything. I wasn’t capable enough to send her anywhere."
Aiden’s hold on Cassandra’s hand tightened. He could feel her shaking a little even if her words were filled with confidence.
Duke Salvador stood in front of the fifth Princess and the Grand Duke as he said. "Princess, we should leave."
Princess Cassandra shifted her eyes from the Grand Duke towards Aiden. His gaze was making her heart stable. Cassandra could not help but let go of her anger as she nodded her head.
"Yes, let’s go." Cassandra’s words were small and soft, like a fairy but she didn’t forget to look at the Grand Duke before she left.
The Grand Duke could not help but observe the fifth Princess of Elvira Empire moving away. [You will pay for what you did to her.] was the only thought that the Grand Duke could think of before he left the library.
Princess Cassandra took a deep breath as she felt the presence of the Grand Duke disappear. His words were still revolving in her mind.
’What did I do?’
’Did I kill my mother?’
’How can I? I was a child.’
Cassandra’s hold on the book tightened as her heart pained, thinking about the possibility of Grand Duke’s words being true.
