CASSANDRA: The Unfavored Princess-Chapter 127: Red hands
Princess Cassandra walked towards the table where Amy was sitting with many books scattered beside her.
"Princess," Amy said in a soft tone as she looked up at the fifth Princess but soon she saw that a man was walking beside her. Amy’s voice shook as she saw that Princess Cassandra and Duke Salvadors were holding hands.
Amy could not say any other words. But Amy could sense that the fifth Princess’s mood was not good. Amy looked up at the Duke in question.
Duke Salvador smiled as he explained. "She met the Grand Duke here."
Amy nodded as she looked at the fifth Princess. But what surprised her was that the fifth Princess was looking carefully at the book in her hand. Amy looked at the Duke again who shook his head.
Aiden sat down besides Princess Cassandra as he moved closer to her. "What has gotten you so interested?"
Princess Cassandra was scared but soon her heart settled. Her hand on the book tightened. "Ed," Cassandra whispered as she moved her eyes back on the books. "Let me concentrate."
Aiden tilted his head as he looked at the book. He could not find anything unusual in it but he remembered suddenly that there was one book just like this in the Elvira Empire.
"Is it .." before Duke Salvador could complete the question he heard Princess Cassandra’s words.
"Yes, the second part of the diary."
Duke Salvador nodded his head as he kept quiet. He knew that if the first part of the book made the fifth Princess able to handle the elements then the second part would also be of great importance.
Princess Cassandra moved her gaze at the diary again. Her eyes narrowed as she started turning the pages.
The initial information was something that she had already known but soon something caught her attention.
Amy and Duke Salvador could see the change in the Princess’s facial expression as they understood that something had caught her attention.
Duke Salvador wanted to ask what it was but he kept his mouth shut. Aiden knew that it was useless to talk about anything now. There were many eyes and ears in the library.
Amy on the other hand could not understand why the fifth Princess was so engrossed in the book. She wanted to open her mouth but Duke Salvador’s gaze made her quiet. If the Duke did not want her to say anything, Amy knew that it was best to keep her mouth shut.
Princess Cassandra’s eyes shook as her hands trembled after a long time. She closed the book in a hurry. Her eyes were looking at the two as she said. "Let’s go."
Duke Salvador and Amy did not understand what was happening but soon they both stood up not making the fifth Princess repeat herself again.
Princess Cassandra moved back to keep the book in its original position. Her eyes looked around as she could sense some presence. Aiden took the book from her hand as he moved forward to keep it, but soon Cassandra’s soft voice like a whisper entered his ears.
"They are all looking at us but I need this book," Cassandra said as she moved back, making sure that her actions were doubted.
Aiden’s gaze stayed on the fifth Princess before he nodded. He kept the book in its original position and remembered it in his heart.
"Princess, let’s go." Duke Salvador said as he escorted the fifth Princess outside.

Princess Cassandra entered the room as she closed the door, sealing it with her powers after pulling Amy and Aiden inside.
Duke Salvador looked at the fifth Princess who walked towards the table without wasting any time. He could tell that Princess Cassandra was in a panicked condition.
Duke Salvador looked at Amy as they both walked towards Princess Cassandra taking a seat.
Princess Cassandra did not waste any time as she summoned the elements out. Her eyes were red as she tried to control her overflowing emotions.
Soon the elements came out in the form of cats. They refused to look at the fifth Princess and chose to walk towards the Duke.
[Keep her emotions in control.] The water element suggested to the Duke as the fire element nodded his head.
[She needs your support.] The fire element added as its tail moved around.
"I am talking with you." Princess Cassandra was losing her patience. Her breathing increased significantly as she closed her eyes to control herself.
The elements looked back but did not take the fifth Princess’s condition into consideration. Their whole focus was on how to avoid Princess Cassandra.
Princess Cassandra’s eyes widened as she gritted her teeth. "When I ask, you need to reply," Cassandra said as she held the water element in her hand. The cat was struggling to get free.
[I told you not to allow her to absorb some darkness from the King. Look now she can hold us.] The fire element said as it tried to remove the water element from the fifth Princess’s hand.
"So you made me absorb the darkness to stabilize yourself?" Princess Cassandra’s hold on the water element tightened. "I want to know the truth if you want to live. You are no different than the others who are trying to use me for their benefit."
"I should have never trusted you." Princess Cassandra left the cat as the water element hit the table. It was breathing heavily as it tried to stabilize itself.
[We did not cheat you.] The fire element said in a soft tone. The blame could be easily seen in his eyes.
"You did not?" Princess Cassandra laughed in frustration. "Then what were you trying to do? Save me? From who?"
[We cannot tell you that now. Time will solve all of your problems.] The fire element took some steps towards the fifth Princess. [All you have to do is trust us.]
"Trust you?" Princess Cassandra ran her hand over her hair as her eyes sharpened. "You have done nothing to make me trust you."
Duke Salvador could sense that something wasn’t right. He did not want the situation to escalate so he stood up as he walked towards the fifth Princess. His hands rubbed on her shoulders trying to calm Cassandra down.
Princess Cassandra looked up at the Duke who shook his head slightly telling her to control her rage.
Cassandra sighed as she closed her eyes as one hand touched the Duke telling him without words that she was okay now.
Aiden shifted his chair towards the fifth Princess when he was sure that Princess Cassandra’s mood was in control. He held the fifth Princess’s hand below the table as he turned his narrowed gaze to the elements on the table.
"You better start talking soon."
The elements looked at the Duke and the fifth Princess before looking at each other.
The water element sat down as if depressed over something before it looked up. [I will tell you but you have to listen to everything quietly without asking any questions.]
Princess Cassandra’s body tightened as she said sarcastically. "You still have the courage to negotiate with us now? Are you in a position to demand?"
[We will do what we find fit at the moment.] The fire element defended as he looked at all three of them. [We will only tell you everything if you listen and do not ask anything.]
Duke Salvador could sense that the fifth Princess was about to lose it again so he nodded his head first. His hold on Cassandra tightened as he said to the elements. "We will listen, so you can start now."

Princess Valeria moved towards the Empress’s palace with a smile. There was a smile on her face.
"Valeria?" The Empress said as she looked at her daughter. "You look happy."
Princess Valeria nodded her head as she sat down. "The Vivere Kingdom allowed us to travel to their Kingdom. I didn’t know they would be this cooperative."
The Empress’s eyes darkened. The news of Princess Valeria, Prince Cedric, and Duke Salvador going to the Vivere Kingdom had spread.
The Empress sighed as she advised. "Nothing comes easy in life, Valeria. You should always remember to consider all the possibilities."
Princess Valeria raised her eyebrows. "What does that mean?"
The Empress could not help but shake her head. "You are talking a lot with the secretary nowadays."
"Are you observing me now? Do you too have your guards inspecting me like Cedric?" Princess Valeria’s eyes turned sharp. She leaned her body forward with a smirk. "Let me tell you, Empress, I am doing everything that I want to withhold my position, and no matter what you or Cedric say I will not lose my position to anyone."
The Empress looked at her laughter before she smiled. "You think power earned easily will help you keep the position? I am the Empress but it was never easy for me. I had to plan and strategize. I had to commit a crime to gain my position and the struggle to retain it is still going on."
"So, I will do it too." Princess Valeria smiled. "Just like you, I will not mind staining my hands red to retain my position."
