Chapter 82: Who Are You?

The Elvira Empire was filled with colors and happiness.

When the Vivere Kingdom’s carriage moved through the Imperial Palace’s door, the rose petals spread on the path.

"Princess, we have reached." The guard said in a low tone. The Vivere Kingdom’s Princess walked down from the carriage with a smile on her face.

She looked around the huge structure that stood in front of her with a smile on her face.

"Brother." The Princess moved forward towards her brother the Crown Prince of the Vivere Kingdom who was standing in the front.

Both the siblings looked at each other as she smiled. Their mission was written in their eyes.

"Teimei, stick to the plan and do not try to do your own thing." The Vivere Kingdom’s Crown Prince Carl said in a soft voice that only the two could hear.

"Don’t worry brother. We are here for only one thing. I hope our cousin does not disappoint us." Princess Teimei said with a smirk on her face.

"He will not. After all, he is one of us." Prince Carl said as they walked towards the entrance of the palace.

---------

A guard entered the main hall as he announced the entrance of the much-awaited people.

"The Vivere Kingdom’s Crown Prince and Princess are entering." The soldier announced as he moved away, opening the door for the guest.

The Prince and Princess entered into the main hall looking at the Emperor and Empress sitting there in all glory.

A smile spread on Prince Carl’s face as he and his sister bowed in respect. "Greeting to the Emperor and Empress."

The Emperor smiled. "Welcome to the Elvira Empire. I hope your road did not consist of difficulties."

Prince Carl looked up at the Emperor as he smiled. "No, the route was comfortable."

The Emperor nodded as he indicated the Vivere Kingdom’s Crown Prince and his sister to sit.

Princess Teimei sat down as she looked around. All the Duke’s sat at a side, looking respectively at them. Princess Teimei’s lips curled up as she looked at all the four Duke’s, observing them closely.

"Don’t stress Teimei. You will make people misunderstand." Prince Carl said softly as he hit Princess Teimei with his elbow.

"But we need to know our enemies well." Princess Teimei smiled as she murmured.

Prince Carl shook his head. It was difficult handling his younger sister. Princess Teimei had always done whatever she wanted to. A Princess who could not be restrained at all.

Prince Carl looked at the side of the Emperor. All the Princes sat at one side while the Princess sat on the other.

There was a seat that was empty near the Empress. One of the Princesses was not attending.

Prince Carl’s eyes did not stay on the place for long as he moved forward till the very end.

The Princess at the end was sitting there silently as her gaze moved from one place to another. Her existence was minimal as if no matter if she was present or not, it would not make any significant difference. A smile formed on Prince Carl’s face as he looked at her with intensity.

Prince Carl’s eyes were narrowed as he waited till the Princess looked at him. And once their eyes collided, Prince Carl smiled.

But before the Princess’s gaze could move to others, Prince Carl thought.

[How are you?]

[Fifth Princess of Elvira Empire?]

-------------

Princess Cassandra’s eyes widened as she swallowed hard. When the Vivere Kingdom’s people came in, there was no change in the surrounding. People were talking and thinking about why their Crown Prince was here. But she could not hear any of the Vivere Kingdom’s people’s thoughts.

Princess Cassandra did not find it odd anymore. Maybe it was because she was constantly with Ed, who did not think, and Duke Salvador who she could not hear. Princess Cassandra was used to the silence now.

She was sitting quietly moving her eyes through people randomly, avoiding Duke Salvador’s gaze that was fixed on her.

’Maybe Ed told it to Duke Salvador.’

’Does Duke Salvador have a lot of questions about last night?’

’Maybe that is why he is staring at me.’

’Will he come by to have a talk?’

Princess Cassandra shivered. ’I hope Ed comes by with Duke Salvador’s message. I would be comfortable if it was Ed.’

As Cassandra was thinking in such a direction her eyes swept through the Crown Prince of Vivere Kingdom. But she did not think much when their gaze collided. As she was about to move the prominent voice came into her brain making Cassandra confused.

’How?’ Cassandra thought. Her breathing increased as an uncomfortable feeling filled her heart. It was the Crown Prince of the Vivere Kingdom who knew about her power and was using it to communicate with her.

Seeing the reaction on the fifth Princess’s face, Prince Carl smiled.

[Is the Princess asking how I know it? Well it should not be a concern right now.]

Prince Carl folded his hand as he continued the conversation in his thoughts. [How had the fifth Princess’s life been in the Elvira Empire?]

Princess Cassandra did not reply. She could not even think anymore. It was as if her thoughts were blocked and her mind was numb.

[The Princess does not have to worry. I cannot hear your thoughts but I know you can.]

[I would appreciate it if the fifth Princess spared some time for this Prince. I would like to have some private talk with you.]

[The fifth Princess of Elvira Empire would not disregard my humble request. Right?]

Prince Carl smiled as his eyes turned sharp. [Nod if the fifth Princess agrees.]

[I do not take no for an answer.]

Princess Cassandra nodded her head. She did not know how to react anymore.

It was the first time someone knew about her power and that too someone of the Vivere Kingdom. A man she had not seen before.

Prince Carl smiled as he looked at the fifth Princess before he removed his eyes, looking at the Emperor.

The interaction between the two did not escape the eyes of a man. His red gaze narrowed.

’Something happened.’

’Princess Cassandra’s gaze tells it all.’

’Did the Vivere Kingdom Crown Prince think something weird?’

’Something that would affect the fifth Princess’s mood.’

’I have to ask her.’

’I need to know.’

Duke Salvador’s hand formed a fist as his rage was increasing. He could not say anything else at the moment.

"Why is your face so ugly?" Achard Bentham said as he moved towards the Duke.

"I feel like this Crown Prince is annoying." Duke Salvador said unconsciously. He looked at his friend as his eyes narrowed in annoyance.

"You cannot say something like this." Lord Bentham said in a sharp tone. "What if someone hears you say something like that in the open."

"Can anyone control me?" Aiden raised his lips.

"Of course not." Lord Bentham laughed. "Who would even dare?"

Duke Salvador smiled but did not refuse. He ignored Lord Bentham and looked at the fifth Princess again who was now looking down.

’Is Princess Cassandra fiddling with her hand now?’

’She usually does it when she is nervous.’

’What is making the fifth Princess so nervous and anxious.’

’Is it because of the Vivere Kingdom’s Prince?’

’Should I kill him?’

’It won’t matter a lot if no one knows who killed him.’

From the time the Vivere Kingdom’s Crown Prince had entered, he was behaving oddly. Duke Salvador’s patience was disappearing.

"If the Duke doesn’t mind me asking, I heard an odd rumor going around the palace recently." Lord Bentham continued to say, ignoring the dark aura coming out from Duke Salvador’s side.

Aiden did not pay attention to Achard. It was as if his words were insignificant to him.

Lord Bentham did not take Duke Salvador’s silence to heart. He continued in a low tone. "Everyone is asking me when I will be breaking off with the fifth Princess."

"Hmm .." Aiden hummed as his eyes narrowed at Prince Carl.

"Recently many Princesses are also coming towards me asking me to reconsider them as a marriage partner."

Duke Salvador looked at Lord Bentham with a smile on his face. "Isn’t it something to be proud of? Lord Bentham is famous among the ladies."

"I have always been famous among the ladies, Duke." Lord Bentham chuckled. "But I don’t understand why Duke Salvador is so interested in my personal matters."

"When did I interfere?" Aiden raised his eyebrows.

"Oh, Does the Duke think only his network within the Imperial Palace is strong?" Lord Bentham raised his lips. "I know from where the rumors have been generated."

Duke Salvador’s eyes turned sharp but his lips curled into a smile. "So what does Lord Bentham have to say now? Yes, I have spread rumors, but it is a fact. I want you to marry someone else."

Lord Bentham smiled as he moved a little closer towards Duke Salvador. "No matter what Duke Salvador wants, I will marry the fifth Princess. And that is a fact. And as for your interests, I hope you keep your curiosity to yourself and look at Princesses that do not belong to anyone else. We don’t want rumors to spread that Duke Salvador is coveting people."

Aiden’s face stiffened but before he could say anything else, a sharp voice filled the hall.
