Chapter 170: Things have changed

Jing Lihua slid the card. The door to the room opened with a 'clang'.

Jing Lihua was already very tired. After a day of the flight, she just wanted to throw herself on the bed and fall into a deep slumber.

So after getting in, she immediately took off her blazer and threw it over the couch. Only once she had turned on the light, did she notice a figure sitting over the bed.

"Huh...?" Jing Lihua was confused. Then her thoughts shifted.

'That receptionist gave me the key to Su Liwei's room? Wait... Since we are a couple that's what she was ought to do. I had made a note to ask her for a separate room... Damn it, because of that Su Lanfan I actually forgot to ask her for a separate room.'

Jing Lihua was about to speak when she noticed the wound on his hand. She frowned. "What happened to your hand, Mr. Su?"

Just now, they were in private.

There was no one else around them.

The way she addressed her right now... was actually the way the things were between them...

Estrangement.

After her reincarnation, Jing Lihua had been ruthless to those who had stepped into her way.

However, to those who had willingly stepped back, she didn't care to bother with.

It was just like this in Su Liwei's case...

He had stepped back against her.

There was no need to bother with him.

True, Jing Lihua had been obsessed with him in her last life. But after her reincarnation, she was just disappointed.

In her heart, there were no feelings of revenge.

Thinking about him, she could just feel like he was a stranger to her...

A complete stranger.

Hearing her words 'Mr. Su' the man sitting over the bed gave a cold laugh. "What happened to the affectionate way of your addressing me?" He asked suddenly then looked up. His fierce eyes met Jing Lihua.

Jing Lihua was slightly taken aback. "That was all a show for the reporters. I assume Mr. Su already knows that. Must I repeat it?" She felt like Su Liwei was acting a little strange.

He chuckled. "Of course, a show. How could I forget..." Trailing off, his eyes became hazed.

A silence ensued. Jing Lihua was unsure what to do. "I should leave. Sorry for the inconvenience."

When she started to walk away, the man sitting on the bed looked up.

The look in his eyes was totally changed.

Jing Lihua had just opened the door slightly when from her back, a hand reached out and slammed the door shut. Shocked, she jumped back. "What are you—" When she saw the look in his eyes, she was speechless. "Are you... drunk?"

"Why are you leaving? We are a husband and wife. Isn't it proper if we share a room?"

Jing Lihua was at a loss to what to say. Prio

r to Li Zhiqiang, she wouldn't have much reservation about sharing a room with him. After all, she knew he wouldn't touch her...

He never had in her previous life...

The single exception was at that time in her family's place...

That was because of that drug...

But since she had made a promise to Li Zhiqiang, how could she share a room with another man?

If that 'Devil' came to knew that she shared a room with Su Liwei, he would surely not let her off easily.

After all, he was always looking for excuses to 'punish' her in his own wicked ways. No way, Jing Lihua would give him an opportunity!

"That would be inconvenient... In any case, there are a lot of empty rooms in the Hotel. Mr. Su, please step back." Jing Lihua was polite.

"Is it because of the inconvenience..." Su Liwei leaned in. "Or are you scared that I would do something to you?"

Jing Lihua immediately stepped back to create a distance from him. She stared at him for a while. "Mr. Su, are you really drunk?"

The way that man was behaving it was difficult to tell whether he was drunk or not. A drunk person should be stumbling or unsteady. But, he, on the other hand, showed no such reactions.

But his words... were a little strange.

Su Liwei laughed. There was a strange craziness in his eyes. "So what if I am?"

Jing Lihua's eyes immediately changed. "Please restraint yourself." She didn't know what else to say. The only other time she had seen him drunk was that day he had asked her not to marry him. This Su Liwei was someone who barely took in alcohol. "I will call the kitchen staff to cook some soup for you. Now please step aside and let me leave."

However, Su Liwei kept his hand firmly over the door. He didn't budge.

Jing Lihua was starting to get a headache.

"Is it because of him?" He suddenly asked.

"Huh?" Jing Lihua looked up.

A second later she felt fingers grabbing her chin and lifting her face up. "I asked Is. It. because. of. him?"

Snapping out of it, she immediately pushed his hand away. "Mr. Su, you decided to get drunk at your own discretion. I did not ask you to. I don't want to deal with your nonsense. Please don't force me to take harsh steps."

However, her words had no effect on the man before her. He leisurely raised his hand that was still bleeding. "At that time... In the garden... Do you remember?"

He said only a few words.

But there were strong memories associated with them.

Jing Lihua immediately recalled what he was referring to.

Eight years ago, after they both got to know each other, they would frequently meet each other in the garden. That place was like their personal dating spot.

At one time, Su Liwei had wounded his hand,

just like today...

Jing Lihua, being a teenager naively in love, couldn't endure seeing her sweetheart in pain. She had panicked and immediately forsaken everything and personally bandaged his hand.

Those were the times before Su Liwei suddenly changed and started ignoring her...

Now, strangely, thinking back to them, Jing Lihua didn't feel any heartache.

It was just emptiness.

An emptiness that could easily be filled with a single thought of Li Zhiqiang.

Suddenly, her lips curled up into a smile.

"Mr. Su... things have changed."
