CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 2012 - 2020: Making Trouble by Going In
Jillian Carter never expected that the first person to stop her from visiting her grandparents would be her brother, James Carter.
No matter how persuasive James Carter’s reasons sounded, they wouldn’t change the fact that James Carter was preventing her from entering the ward.
Jillian Carter was in a daze for a long time, standing there, staring blankly at James Carter, as if she finally regained her voice after a while.
"Brother~" Jillian Carter called James Carter softly, feeling a bit hurt, "I just want to see our grandparents."
"I told you, our grandparents are already resting." James Carter turned his head away, avoiding Jillian’s eyes.
"I just want to see them, just look." Jillian’s eyes reddened, "Brother, what are you guarding against? Could it be that I would harm grandma?"
"Your brother said your grandparents are resting." Father Carter explained for James Carter, "Jane hasn’t come back yet. Your grandparents are angry and refused to see your mom and me. All afternoon, your brother accompanied them, and it took a lot to finally get them to rest. Don’t go in and complicate things now."
"Complicate things? Daddy, you think me visiting our grandparents is complicating things?" Jillian took a step back clutching the bouquet in her arms.
"Your grandparents are already resting; if you insist on going in, aren’t you complicating things?" Father Carter didn’t understand what was going on in Jillian’s brain, watching her looking so hurt. Under normal circumstances, Father Carter would have taken the time to comfort his daughter.
But right now, Father Carter couldn’t find the heart to guess what Jillian was thinking, nor did he have the mindset to understand why she was upset.
"There’s one more thing." Father Carter’s eyes cooled slightly, "Back then, Jane agreed to give you three days, and now those three days have passed, yet neither you nor Joseph Shaw have provided evidence that the photo incident wasn’t your doing. Although Jane’s situation is unresolved now, her words still stand."
Father Carter looked toward Jillian, if Jillian was indeed responsible for that incident, Father Carter would never forgive her, whether Jane was present or not.
He wouldn’t pander to another daughter just because he lost one.
"Remind Joseph Shaw to hurry; once Jane returns, if you still can’t provide evidence, you’ll have to act according to what Jane said." Father Carter then looked at Jillian, "Jillian, your mother and I have raised you for over 20 years, hosted a grand wedding for you, we’ve fulfilled our duties to you. So, I hope you can understand our deep-rooted desire to make up to Jane, for the more than 20 years we owe her."
"In this house, if you can’t coexist peacefully with Jane, then in the future, we’ll only ask you to concede." Father Carter said this, then turned to support his wife, saying, "I’ll send you back to rest first, then gather news."
Mother Carter was physically and mentally exhausted, yet still shook her head, unwilling to leave.
On one hand, she was concerned about her parents-in-law, on the other, she was anxious waiting for news of Jane Sampson.
"I’ll just wait at the hospital; even if I went back, I’d be restless. Might as well stay with you or with James." Mother Carter pushed away her husband’s hand, "I’m not going anywhere, just staying here, waiting."
