Chasing You Like a Tenacious Falcon-Chapter 4: Brother, Borrow your meal card.
Chapter 4
Since I can't understand it anyway, Quan Zhisui decided to observe her classmates. Apart from Kong Mingze, who seemed particularly enthusiastic, the others didn't seem interested in the new transfer student. Most of them were focused on studying, after all, it was a prestigious high school and time was pressing.
Then, Quan Zhisui saw Wei Shixu sitting in the golden seat by the window in the first row, first column.
He was a person with superior looks and a terrifying gaze.
His position in the first row indicated that he had the best grades in the class, but he didn't seem like a traditional good student.
Quan Zhisui had good eyesight and could clearly see Wei Shixu playing with his phone from the diagonal distance across the classroom.
And it was obvious, without any attempt to conceal it, he placed his phone on the desk, propped up by a few books.
He was watching a movie, a bloody horror film.
Perhaps because their eyes met so directly, Wei Shixu turned back with a sense of awareness and locked eyes with Quan Zhisui accurately.
Quan Zhisui didn't look away but blinked her eyes. She didn't show any expression and remained calm.
Wei Shixu suddenly smiled, found it somewhat interesting, but that was it. After looking back briefly, he ignored her and continued watching the movie.
She didn't observe this person with a strong sense of disconnection any further. She adjusted her posture and looked back at her own textbook. She still had to self-study the content of the second year, or else she wouldn't be able to catch up with the lessons.
Finally, the morning classes came to an end, and Quan Zhisui was exhausted.
Kong Mingze woke up on time and went out of the classroom, chatting up with the other students in the last row. She had no idea where they were going.
The other students flocked to the cafeteria.
Quan Zhisui followed the crowd without knowing what to do.
The cafeteria was in another building, and a massive number of students rushed in, forming long queues at different windows.
Quan Zhisui also joined the queue. She was extremely hungry, but halfway through the line, she suddenly realized something.
It was serious!
The cafeteria here had a different operating model from the martial arts school she attended on the mountain. At the martial arts school, the meals for the three daily meals were arranged by the cafeteria, and everyone ate the same thing, with only differences in portion sizes. The students' tuition fees included the meals, so they didn't need to spend extra money for food.
But it was different at Liang Secondary School. Each student had a card in their hand, and the cafeteria had a wide variety of dishes to choose from, and they had to place their orders.
Quan Zhisui didn't have a meal card.
Wei Shixu was standing at the end of the line next to her, seemingly uninterested in the act of eating compared to the starving ghosts in the other line.
Standing there bored, he glanced around and noticed a person walking out from the gap between the two lines, with an extremely pale face.
Wei Shixu: "..."
This transfer student was indeed quite interesting.
Quan Zhisui didn't notice Wei Shixu in the crowd. At this moment, she felt hopeless and only thought about going around to the cafeteria office to get a meal card before coming back. Would there still be food left?
You see, at the martial arts school, if you missed the mealtime, you wouldn't have any food to eat!
But as she walked, a leg stretched out in front of her, as if intentionally trying to trip her, accompanied by stifled laughter around.
Without raising her head, she stepped over it, too lazy to bother with whoever had such boring antics.
She didn't seek trouble, yet trouble found her.
"Quan Zhisui, stop right there!" a voice rang out from above, filled with ill intentions.
Quan Zhisui maintained her expression of indifference, her eyes hollow as she looked up.
Oh, it was Zuo Zichen.
Behind him stood several unruly students, the type who didn't bother to wear their school uniforms properly.
Seeing her expression, Zuo Zichen's already pent-up emotions erupted, and he shouted, "Who are you making that dead face for?!"
He was fierce, his eyes filled with hatred.
The accompanying students burst into loud laughter.
The commotion attracted the curiosity of the students lining up for food, and they began to whisper and discuss.
"Isn't that Zuo Zichen from the first year?"
"Yes... Don't mess with him."
"Zuo Zichen is notorious for being a second-generation rich kid. He declared himself the boss as soon as he entered Liang Secondary School."
"Who is this girl? Is Zuo Zichen even bullying girls now?"
"Look, they've surrounded that girl."
"..."
However, Zuo Zichen's outburst snapped Quan Zhisui back to reality. Her eyes instantly brightened, and her voice became lively and crisp. "Little brother, can I borrow your meal card?"
Zuo Zichen: "?"
He couldn't help but laugh.
He insults you, and you ask to borrow his meal card?
The accompanying students laughed even louder, mocking her with their words.
"Hey, Zuo bro, is she crazy? She actually called you 'little brother'!"
"Where did this village girl come from? Why is she randomly claiming relations?"
"Who does she think she is?"
"..."
Wei Shixu also stood among the crowd, fully engaged.
Due to their proximity, he heard their entire conversation.
Little brother? Borrowing a meal card?
Wei Shixu's eyes flickered with interest as he stared intently at Quan Zhisui without moving.
High school life had been stagnant and unchanging, but this transfer student seemed to be a variable, tearing open a rift.
Of course, Zuo Zichen would never lend his meal card to Quan Zhisui out of kindness. The phrase 'little brother' touched upon the thing he least wanted to face.
He wished she would starve to death!
He sneered and leaned in closer, whispering, "You don't even have money for meals, why don't you become a beggar? Oh, right, in my house, you're nothing but a beggar. Since you're a beggar, if you kneel down and polish my shoes, I might reluctantly give you a meal."
Quan Zhisui glanced down at his shoes, showing no reaction.
Zuo Zichen's insults grew even more vulgar. "Damn parasite, why didn't you die with your short-lived ghost of a mother?"
Quan Zhisui's gaze changed, and suddenly she looked up, locking eyes with him.
In that instant, her aura transformed as well!
Quan Zhisui had been practicing internal martial arts since childhood. After more than a decade of training, she had already reached the stage of internal energy cultivation. Normally, her presence was concealed, unassuming like an ordinary person.
But now, provoked, her aggressive nature burst forth like a fierce carnivorous animal, ready to tear Zuo Zichen apart!
Zuo Zichen abruptly took a step back, with a voice inside him constantly warning:
Don't mess with her! Don't mess with her!
However, Zuo Zichen was accustomed to the life of a crown prince. His first reaction to the dangerous aura was not fear, but anger—an anger provoked by the challenge.
"You mountain trash! How dare you look at me with such eyes?!"
He shouted loudly, consumed by rage, and without any hesitation, he swung his fist towards Quan Zhisui's head.
The people around were startled, and cries of alarm filled the air.
Some tried to rush forward to intervene, but they were too far away. By the time they reached, Zuo Zichen's punch had landed solidly on Quan Zhisui's face.
How could such a slender girl withstand a punch from a 1.8-meter-tall muscular man?
Many people cursed in anger.
Quan Zhisui stood still without evading. She quickly clenched her fist and raised her forearm, simultaneously tightening her muscles and exerting force—a basic defensive move.
Crack!
A distinct sound of bones breaking.
It was Zuo Zichen's bones.
