Cheat Cultivator's Ascension-Chapter 537: Liliana’s Will
What was supposed to be nothing but a short source of good entertainment for this group of geniuses of the Western Continent turns into nothing short of a nightmare of an experience to them as they watch the lady who is currently one of the sources of their fear for their lives take out the rapier she previously set aside, raising it above her head seemingly prepared to swing it down on them.
Mere moments passed as she truly carves a path of shimmering crescent with her rapier, bringing it down in such a swift speed that these Great Ones react all too late, trying to move away from her 'attack', only for them to feel embarrassed as they realized that her action is not directed towards any of them.
Cleaving the skies, air from her armament reaches all the way down the ground, leaving a shallow, yet nevertheless noticeable line on the ground, a satisfied smile appearing on her face as she looks at the other mark her attack left behind, a crimson-tainted spirit qi lingering as a line from where she swung her rapier, separating her and her teacher's position from the position of the geniuses of the Western Continent.
"Anyone who thinks they can come out of a fight against me, take a step forward and cross the line, as for those who don't want to cross this line, pay up, pay as much as you think your lives are worth" she said in a confident tone as she scans everyone in front of her, her mind sure of the fact that even the strongest among them will only make her struggle, and even then, she is still confident of coming out victorious from such fight.
'Quite cunning…' Su Xiaotian remarked as he listened to her words, the fact that she even decides to push the decision of the price of their own lives and reputations to her targets, a move that even he finds impressive in this situation, especially taking into account the intimidation that those 'Great Ones' are probably feeling right now.
And almost as if to cement this intimidation, this fear, into the hearts of these geniuses even more, his student, the young vampire earl that is Liliana, decides to go with things the same way she did when dealing with the enforcers these young men and women sent to try and bring her teacher to their lair, this thought of her opponent's audacity further amplifying the pressure that just starts coming out of her being.
With a domineering, forceful momentum expanding from herself, Liliana suppressed these geniuses all in her lonesome, the suffocating feeling of desolation mixed with the disturbingly real scent, no, smell of blood, not only smell, but also sensation, as well as sight, as nothing around them bears any sort of semblance to the previous clear blue skies they were standing on.
"Their wills are really weak as well…" Su Xiaotian mutters as he observes how the things unfold, his eyes sharp as they remain on his student, this lady oozing a clear trace of crimson from her being, but it was neither her blood techniques nor her innate spirit qi, but rather, her intent, her will.
Just like how he and one of his martial sisters, Dao Xuanyuan, is capable of manifesting their own wills, imposing them upon the reality that their target perceives, this lady right here, someone who he's only teaching for a month, seems to be capable of such feat as well, the only difference being the fact that she has yet to truly develop and unfold this realm shaped by will of hers, the greatest proof being the fact that Su Xiaotian himself is incapable of naturally seeing this mental realm.
Sure, the difference between their strength is a gap that cannot be bridged by any sort of external help, but the same can be said on the difference between the immortal-like young man and his scholarly martial sister, and yet even then, he can still see the mental scape, the form of will, of said martial sister without any effort on his part.
Being naturally unaffected by Liliana's mental will doesn't mean that he is completely incapable of taking a look at it, though, as he can just allow himself to be dragged into her mental scape, an attempt that usually will bring the one performing such a trick into quite the danger, and not just any normal danger, but a danger to the soul too.
'Doesn't really concern me though…' he thought to himself in confidence as he is the one most aware of the gap between his own soul and its power, when comparing it to his own student, this discrepancy growing larger as moments pass, even at the tremendous rate of improvement she is having since he started teaching her.
Right now, what Liliana wants to show these geniuses of the Western Continent, he can see as well, a shallow, yet nevertheless repulsive smelling domain of blood that expands as far as the eyes can see, swords, flesh and bones, both decaying and new, strewn across the lands as if a great battle, or rather, massacre finds itself upon these pitiful souls, and right atop this nightmarish landscape, hangs, all alone in a cloudless, starless skies, is a singular full moon of blood, seemingly staring down at anything else in this twistedly developed world.
"Quite the beautiful manifestation of will…" seeing that the young earl is staring down at her will be preys, Su Xiaotian then walks towards the sole place rid of the flooding blood within this crimson domain, standing in this platform that elevates itself just enough to keep the blood off the bottom of her feet, the owner of this domain, a gorgeous smile blooming on her face as she heard a genuine tone of praise, rather than concern or fear from the young man who witnesses the form of her mind.
"Is it? They seem to be scared of it though…" she retorted while pointing her fingers on the group of Great Ones shivering as they act like meek lambs, staring around at the panic inducing landscape, a terror planting itself on their hearts so much to the point that even the strongest among this group of geniuses, their front seats, couldn't help but get concerned with what is happening as well.
"Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, after all," he then witfully answers to her point, a smile appearing on her face as if she fully expects him to answer with something like that.
"So you like twisted things, huh~" she said with the same warm smile on her face before her expression turned into a cheeky one, as if she finally got a one-up on him, this feeling of victory only lasting until she heard his reply.
"I can't deny that," he answered, still smiling as he directed his attention to the people in front of them, and knowing full well that she would lose composure if he continued with his antics, he personally decided to divert the topic as she pointed towards the leader of the group, they, or rather she was previously fighting against.
"Enough chit chat for now, this guy looks like he wants to talk to you about something."
