Cheat Cultivator's Ascension-Chapter 543: A Dangerous Individual
Lilith has her own plan.
While it might be true that she is a part of the group that has the guts to call themselves the Great Ones, with the sole reason for said title being the assumption that they are going to be the rulers of the next generation, she's also well aware that there will always be mountains beyond mountains and skies beyond the skies.
No, it wasn't the dragon prince who is hailed as the strongest genius of their generation nor this dark horse of a vampire earl who appears out of nowhere and dominates everyone of the same generation that she is thinking of, she always expects that somewhere, in a place she doesn't have any idea of, a monster of terrifying talent and prowess lives, probably just waiting for an idiot poking their habitat to come out from this state of being unknown.
That man falls exactly into that category.
It was instinct that tells her those words, instinct that she trusts with all her life given how it was honed through her years of living in the brutal south where survival, not of the fittest, but the strongest, prevails the most, instinct the brought her out of situations where she danced with death time and time again.
Hence why she offers her own True Soul Contract, something that a dream demon can only create once in their life, practically their path to the future beyond the limits of mana tempering, to the lady this young man is supporting, the plan she has being influencing the vampire earl to eventually offer said contract to the young man backing her, and once that happen, for her to take the chance to enter a mutualism contract with the immortal-like existence.
Well, her plan works, way too well and way faster than she had initially expected, her contract already on that immortal-like figure's hands, yet there's no joy of accomplishing her initial goal at all, the emotions swelling inside her being overwhelmed by the anxiety of this man doing something that she can never see coming.
'There's this thing about this sort of people being completely unpredictable after all…' she thought to herself as she waits for what fate has in store for her, this anxious waiting making her feel all too antsy as the immortal-like young man just stores it in his spatial storage after inspecting it for a while.
While she waits for her fate with heavy heart, the remaining members of the Great One's front row seats starts giving their own payment, each of them something that appears to be beneficial for Liliana one way or another.
"Try as I might, I don't think I have anything in me that can rival that dream demon's payment, but I think this should suffice for the price of my own life" as she approaches Liliana, a blonde, pointy eared beauty with a verdant emerald pupil said with a smile on her face as she hands an amber-like substance with a tree-sap smell wrapped around carefully carved wood, within this amber a verdant leaf of the same shade this lady's eyes.
Taking a good look at the owner of this calm, gentle voice, Su Xiaotian was greeted with a familiar name again, one among the people he had taken note of previously.
[Name: Alfia Evergreen] 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
[Age: 35]
[Affiliation: Great Forest High Table (Priestess-in-Training)]
[Connection: Falling Leaf Faction (Elven Royal Faction)]
[Greatest Backing: Olfreya Evergreen (Elven High Priestess)]
It appears like any normal ornament an elven race person can wear, but for those who already made their own trip to the great forest where the elven kingdom lies, the object is anything but normal, no, even special undermines the importance that this object holds.
"You can move unhindered to almost anything in our lands with that, Lady Liliana, and it might not be a complete life and death bond but our elven race will do its utmost to grant three requests from the holder of this insignia"
She spoke as she also took a glance at the person standing behind this vampire earl, a backing who appears just as young as them, making her wonder what sort of monsters, what sort of organization is capable of nurturing a prodigy like this.
Of course, there's also the thought and assumption in her mind that all he has to offer was already revealed to them in their previous exchanges, after all, an ability as transcendent as this, shaping one's own will to form a mental world, not to mention the fact that this mental world previously solely owned by Liliana seems to be stabilized from collapse through the sheer power of this young man alone, is already something way beyond the scope of their understanding, and anything, any sort of talent beyond this just wouldn't make any sense.
"I will make great use of it, Priestess Alfia" Liliana said as she bowed with grace, receiving yet another extremely useful item again, this time a plan already forming in her mind on how to utilize this, especially to deter the threats on her land, particularly the ones coming from bordering elven nobles.
Two among the front row seats already yielded and gave theirs, making the last two feel more compelled to just comply with the offer, and the one who stand up the next was as expected, the one bearing the scent of the beast along with them, an innately fierce gaze bending somehow as they stand in front of the great power that they won't even dare to think of as an equal now.
"Hmm? Interesting, the so-called front row seats are all female except that dragon prince?" with his eyes glowing of white and gold, Su Xiaotian mutters, his words being heard by the horned lady now just calmly standing beside him, a frown appearing on her face as it darkened as if clouds was cast upon it, her expression that of someone who wants to tell something, but doesn't have the courage to.
"Should I listen to your stories after Liliana dealt with her things?" snapping her out of this gloomy air, she heard a sonorous voice floating to her ears, this one, albeit being barely recognizable to her, sounds all too familiar, as if it was something she wouldn't forget.
Not forgetting is reasonable though as at the moment she felt like she's about to suffer the most miserable death, drowning in a pool of pungent blood gradually flooding her entire system without any means to resist, it was this very voice that pacified that raging torrent of blood.
Staring at the owner of the voice, she met those eyes, staring directly at her yet seemingly peering through every façade, she couldn't help but shiver as she felt completely exposed, not in a physically naked way but rather as if he's easily torn through each of her masks revealing to him her truest self.
'This guy is dangerous…' she thought to herself as she froze on her spot, the odd sense of comfort and relief as she felt none of the need to pretend as someone else in front of him making her extremely wary of him, yet at the same time, her feet refuses to budge and take a step backwards as if she also doesn't want this feeling to go away.
