Chapter 114: Departure

{November 20, 239 2E}

The soft glow of the living room’s ambient lights bathed Lianna and Enverna in a warm, intimate atmosphere.

Zura had ventured out for a meal, which allowed Lianna to put forth the suggestion that she and Enverna... enjoy themselves for a bit.

That was how they ended up in this present situation.

"Oh..." Enverna let out breathy moans as Lianna ate her out on the couch.

Enverna’s fingers were buried in Lianna’s hair. As Lianna looked up at the girl whose pussy she was licking right now, she noted the change in Enverna’s expression.

As she grew more comfortable with this sort of thing, a bit of that noble, refined demeanor of hers had begun to slip back into place. Eyes narrowed and her hands greedily pulling Lianna deeper in, she still looked like a million thoughts were going through her head, but she was definitely far less embarrassed.

Lianna preferred this. Suddenly, it was like some of those fantasies she’d envisioned late at night when she first joined the Watchful with Enverna were coming to life. She could hardly believe it.

The air buzzed with magnetic energy. Just as it looked like Enverna was about to cum, she purposely stopped Lianna from making that happen and instead pulled Lianna up, engaging her in a fiery, passionate kiss.

Each desperate tug and pull of their lips was a testament to how much the two of them had needed this. Giggles escaped between their lips, the joy of the moment evident in the twinkle of their eyes.

"Open your mouth," Lianna instructed and as Enverna did what she asked, the kiss became even deeper.

Their tongues danced. Enverna’s hands roamed down to the hips she stared at so often. Lianna’s teeth pinched Enverna’s bottom lip and tugged at it as the crimson-haired girl grinned.

Things looked like they were going to progress elsewhere, with Lianna thinking of pulling Enverna away from this couch.

Only for them to be interrupted, as per usual, by a knock on the door, prompting Enverna to break off.

"Ah... Crap," Lianna muttered with a sigh.

Lianna nearly wanted to disregard the sound entirely as she noticed the look in Enverna’s eyes.

Raw lust showed in them as Lianna saw herself in the reflection of Enverna’s pupils.

"I’ll make this quick," Lianna promised, wanting to get back to this as quickly as possible.

Naked, Enverna went straight to the bedroom. Lianna, wearing only a baggy white shirt and some shorts, went to answer the door.

Opening it revealed the unexpected presence of Miss Taylor.

"Good..." She began to speak but trailed off.

The administrator’s eyes flickered over Lianna’s slightly disheveled appearance.

Miss Taylor’s keen gaze swept over Lianna’s face and body, catching, Lianna assumed, the many subtle clues that hinted at the moments shared between her and Enverna.

Lianna’s hair was in complete disarray. A rosy blush lingered on Lianna’s cheeks. Lianna didn’t even want to check, hoping it wasn’t the case, but she was also partially certain her shorts were about to fall to the ground.

Cynthia just blinked.

Her expression remained composed, though her eyes did reveal some amusement.

Lianna, aware of Miss Taylor’s perceptive gaze, straightened her clothes with a self-conscious, slightly awkward smile.

There was a momentary pause.

Then, Cynthia continued.

"Good evening, Lianna. I hope I’m not interrupting anything."

Lianna chuckled nervously.

"Oh, uh, not at all! Just, uh, having some fun."

Cynthia’s brows shot up.

"BY MYSELF!" Lianna declared loudly. "UH, j-just me. No one, uh, no one else is here."

"Right..." Cynthia nodded slowly.

It didn’t seem like Lianna helped the situation at all.

"A-Anyway, what brings you here?"

Just like that, Cynthia crossed her arms, pushing past the brief awkwardness.

"I’ve arranged transportation for you and your friends to Garriden. Whenever you decide to go, it’ll be ready for you."

Lianna’s eyes widened in surprise.

"Oh, wow! Thank you, Miss Taylor. That’s... very thoughtful of you," Lianna responded, genuine warmth infusing her words.

Cynthia, with her trademark composed demeanor, acknowledged Lianna’s gratitude with a warm smile.

"Of course. I want to ensure you have everything you need for your journey. I hope it proves beneficial."

"The transportation is appreciated, but, will there be any Fiends we need to watch out for on the way?"

Miss Taylor, ever calm and collected, considered Lianna’s question thoughtfully before responding.

"It would be a good thing if there were, no? More opportunities for you to experiment with your artifact. I’ve informed the driver already to listen to you, should you say you want to stop near any encounter zones specifically for that reason."

"Thank you for considering that," Lianna said.

Cynthia’s eyes, empathetic and understanding, reflected a depth of comprehension beyond the surface.

"It is the least I could do. I would like to support you in any way I can," Cynthia stated. "I can only imagine the weight of the responsibilities you bear."

"I appreciate that, Miss Taylor. Truly. It helps knowing I’m not navigating this alone..."

The word "anymore" lay in the air, even though it hadn’t been said.

With a final exchange of pleasantries, Miss Taylor prepared to leave, her parting words carrying a sense of genuine goodwill.

"Have a nice day, Lianna."

As the door closed behind the administrator, Lianna stood in the quiet living room, a mix of emotions swirling within her.

She sighed.

[... I only just found out about her, and now I’m about to leave Telvan for a bit. It feels unfair.]

As she closed the door, Lianna turned to walk over to the bedroom.

[Oh well. Where were we?]

Lianna made her way back to her fiance, finding Enverna leaning against the wall, a mischievous gleam in her eyes.

"So," Lianna smiled, "wanna..."

Enverna approached with a hungry glint in her eyes. Before Lianna could utter any further words, Enverna swiftly pinned her against the wall, catching her off guard.

A soft gasp escaped Lianna’s lips, her eyes widening in surprise. Enverna leaned in, their faces inches apart.

"I need this," Enverna muttered. "Open your mouth," she ordered.

With a grin, Lianna did as she asked before Enverna closed the gap, picking up right where they’d left off.

The brisk morning air greeted Lianna, Enverna, and Zura as they prepared to leave Telvan.

As the trio gathered their belongings, Cynthia Taylor joined them in person, overseeing their departure. They packed enough clothes for only a couple of weeks at most, and yet, this still felt like a huge moment to Lianna.

So much had changed in such little time. Over the course of a few months, Lianna had a duty to uphold, friends to talk to, and, well, a wife.

[... If it wasn’t for the fact that the literal end of the world is coming I would probably feel a lot happier about all this. Oh well.]

A moment she couldn’t have even imagined back when she’d been on her own, in the house Cynthia had bought for her, before all this began.

The driver, in a rugged yet luxurious vehicle suited for challenging terrains, arrived promptly. The sturdy vehicle exuded an air of reliability. The girls boarded the vehicle, making themselves comfortable in the spacious interior.

Cynthia, maintaining her composed demeanor, addressed the group.

"I’ve ensured that the driver is experienced and well-equipped for the journey. If you encounter any issues, do not hesitate to contact me."

Lianna nodded appreciatively.

"Thank you, Miss Taylor. We’ll keep that in mind."

On that note, Miss Taylor walked away, and Lianna felt a bit of a sting as she watched her turn and leave.

The journey commenced, the vehicle smoothly maneuvering through the urban landscape before transitioning to the outskirts of Telvan. The hum of the engine resonated within the car, creating a backdrop for the trio’s shared anticipation and purpose.

Lianna, sitting comfortably, initiated the conversation.

"So, we’re heading to Garriden. What are we gonna do?"

Enverna, her gaze focused on the passing scenery, responded thoughtfully.

"First, we need to meet Mel. According to A’has, she seems to have information about the artifact. We should probably do that first."

Lianna nodded in agreement.

"Right, right. What else?"

"The Monk’s follower," Enverna continued. "We should meet with him and find out more about the threat to Garriden. I cannot imagine what he means by that, but it sounded rather ominous."

"True," Zura added. "We need to know what’s coming our way, especially if it’s something that could harm Garriden. But what about you, Envy? This is your hometown. Any personal trip you’re gonna take?"

Enverna hesitated, her expression a mixture of contemplation and uncertainty.

"I... I don’t know if I want to see my family or not. It’s been a while, and things are complicated."

Lianna placed a supportive hand on Enverna’s shoulder.

"Whatever you decide, we’re here for you, Envy. Just let us know."

As the vehicle steadily left the urban landscape behind, the scenery transitioned to open roads and sprawling landscapes.

The sense of adventure hung in the air. Lianna looked back at Telvan, slowly shrinking as the vehicle moved away.

[I’m actually leaving the city,] Lianna thought. [Crazy.]
