Closer to Revealing My True Self-Chapter 460 - 316 Release the Wind_2
Chapter 460: Chapter 316 Release the Wind_2
There are people who particularly believe in feng shui and want to buy a piece of land on Xiao Feng Mountain, to build a small room, nothing grand. However, Xiao Feng Mountain is now part of a special management area, and land permits are not granted. Even if the original buildings there are moved away, taking over is not necessarily feasible.
If they can’t buy, then how about renting?
The first place targeted was definitely the location formerly used by the Feng Family of Yang City as a temple hall.
Some relatives wanted to discuss renting a room with Mute Uncle, offering a high price.
Then, they were met with Mute Uncle’s broom.
They couldn’t reach an agreement.
A few days later, the other party brought quite a few people back up Xiao Feng Mountain.
And then they saw a row of burly men standing in front of Mute Uncle’s house.
The forced rental plan was thwarted again.
Left with no choice, the party had to approach other residents living on the mountain.
But aside from Mute Uncle’s house, which is privately owned, the rest of the rentable buildings on the mountain are owned by companies, making the rental process even more troublesome.
Whether those people went to negotiate or not, Feng Yi didn’t know; he only knew that no one went to bother Mute Uncle again.
As many would have thought, Mute Uncle, an old man who can’t speak and has lived alone on the mountain for many years, has remained safe and stable. Even Old Man Feng couldn’t affect him. He is definitely not as easy to bully as he appears...actually, even just by appearance, he doesn’t seem easy to bully.
Mute Uncle’s usual way of doing things was well known to anyone who inquired briefly; he was super famous within ten miles around Xiao Feng Mountain.
Feng Yi had some free time today and decided to visit Xiao Feng Mountain.
He sent a message to Mute Uncle to ask when it would be convenient.
Mute Uncle replied that he had an appointment in the morning and would be available only in the afternoon.
After lunch, Feng Yi rested for a bit before leaving. He brought Jia along.
Before leaving, Feng Yi mentioned it to the butler.
The butler didn’t get along well with Mute Uncle, so Feng Yi would always go alone to Xiao Feng Mountain instead of going with the butler.
Knowing that Feng Yi was visiting Mute Uncle on Xiao Feng Mountain, the butler even suggested that Feng Yi pick some fruit not available on the mountain to take to Mute Uncle.
The butler had just received a gift he was fond of, so nothing could disturb his good mood lately.
Jia went to prepare the car and bumped into Wu, who had just come out to get some afternoon tea.
Seeing this, Wu asked, "Out on another mission?"
Jia shook his head, "Nope. Just going out for some fresh air..."
At this point, Jia hesitated mid-sentence. Suddenly, he realized that this description might be inappropriate?
It was ambiguous and could be considered disrespectful to the boss, especially considering his boss’s surname was Feng.
So Jia added, "Just a trip to Xiao Feng Mountain, to get a feel of the mountain air."
Wu nodded, took a sip of coffee, and said leisurely, "Got it, out to capture the breeze."
Jia: "...Don’t say that in front of the boss."
Wu: "I wasn’t the one who said it."
Jia looked at him silently, a glint of coldness in his eyes.
Wu waved his hand: "Alright, I won’t. Go and... breathe in the mountain air."
After finishing, Wu returned to the lab. He had no interest in going out for leisure; it was more intriguing for him to study the mysterious patinas.
Jia continued to be a competent driver.
When they reached Xiao Feng Mountain, Feng Yi went to find Mute Uncle. He didn’t keep Jia with him all the time, allowing Jia to move around, to see the sights or even take a nap in the car if he wanted.
When Feng Yi arrived, there were guests at Mute Uncle’s house. They must have just arrived as the tea was freshly brewed.
Feng Yi recognized Mute Uncle’s visitor; he had seen him during the ancestral worship ceremony at the temple hall but had never spoken to him, remaining strangers.
It was unexpected that this person and Mute Uncle knew each other, seeming to have an alright relationship – not too good, but not bad either, and at least he hadn’t been driven out by Mute Uncle.
Observing Mute Uncle’s attitude, this guest seemed like an old acquaintance, different from the relatives who had come before trying to rent the house.
Upon seeing Feng Yi, Mute Uncle gestured, and the familiar voice from the phone spoke up:
"You’re here, have a seat first."
The visitor was slightly surprised to see Feng Yi and did not know that Feng Yi had such a good relationship with Mute Uncle.
Over time, you come to know what attitude Mute Uncle takes with different people.
Guests knew that Mute Uncle didn’t get along with the Feng Family of Yang City, yet they didn’t expect him to be so familiar with Feng Yi, someone who had already left the Feng Family of Yang City, treating him just like one of his own kin.
After exchanging greetings, Feng Yi, knowing his way around, put away the fruits he had brought and then washed and cut a plate of fruit to take to Mute Uncle.
Feng Yi treated Mute Uncle like an elder in his family. Since an elder had guests over, and those guests were the elder’s old acquaintances, it was only natural for him to help cut the fruit, a small act of hospitality.
Only then did he sit down to the side, waiting for Mute Uncle to finish chatting with his guest.
From the casual conversation between Mute Uncle and his guest, Feng Yi learned that the guest was a tea merchant. They were talking all about tea-related topics.
It made sense when he thought about it; if they were talking about ancestral temples or anything related to the Feng Family, Mute Uncle would’ve shown his displeasure long ago.
The tea Feng Yi drank was mostly made by Mute Uncle himself. He hadn’t been particularly fond of tea before, but the ones Mute Uncle made were quite good.
The guest took in the scent of tea and said with a satisfied smile, "This fragrance, one whiff and you know it’s mountain spring water from here."
There is indeed a rather hidden spring on Xiao Feng Mountain, and Mute Uncle uses that spring water for brewing tea. He wouldn’t necessarily use it for guests on a regular basis, but doing so indicated that Mute Uncle thought highly of them.
The guest, feeling valued, was naturally pleased and content.
The tea leaves were brought by the tea merchant and were not the special brews that Feng Yi was familiar with from Mute Uncle.
Mute Uncle poured three cups of black tea, two for there, and handed one cup to Feng Yi.
Feng Yi had wanted to listen in on their conversation, but then, the two started talking about "how to use rheology to improve the quality of tea."
Feng Yi: "..."
Mute Uncle glanced over at Feng Yi, pushed the fruit plate toward him, and gestured for him to:
"Go eat and play over there by yourself!"
Feng Yi: "..." Alright then.
Without much interest in drinking tea, Feng Yi slowly ate the fruit, still listening in on Mute Uncle’s conversation.
Though Mute Uncle couldn’t speak, he typed quickly on his phone, and the guest’s demeanor was very casual, as if chatting with a regular tea buddy.
The conversation had progressed from the quality of tea to the formation of a film on the tea.
The film that forms on the surface of black tea is a combination of organic and inorganic substances, related to the hardness of water, the oxygen concentration, brewing temperature, and so forth.
Before Feng Yi had a chance to learn about the tea film, the topic had already shifted from the tea film to tea packaging, and then to innovation and change in the tea drink industry, as well as sales of new products, and so on.
Feng Yi: "..."
It seemed as if using his brain too much recently had left him unable to keep up with the pace of their conversation.
Feng Yi redirected his attention and looked at the tea in front of him.
The thin film that had formed on the tea surface was becoming clearer, showing rainbow colors under the light.
Feng Yi leaned in, tilted at an angle, and blew gently on the tea surface.
He watched as the film on the surface of the tea cracked like a layer of ice.
Feng Yi smiled, then noticed Mute Uncle was watching him.
Mute Uncle’s look: "Is this guy an idiot?"
Feng Yi: "..."
After the two had discussed the tea drink industry and various popular internet celebrities’ products on the market for a while, the tea merchant shifted the topic to the recent ancestral temple consecration ceremony held by the Feng Family of Yang City.
Feng Yi perked up; this is a topic I know about!
Looking over, he indeed saw Mute Uncle’s expression fading, indicating disinterest.
The guest looked troubled: "Do you have any deity statues here? I’ve been praying to every god I see, hoping the weather will get better and not become more extreme."
This year there had been a minor fluctuation in the climate, and although it was truly minor compared to extreme climate periods, it couldn’t be ignored by the tea market. High temperatures, low temperatures, and continuous rainy weather could all affect the yield and quality of tea leaves.
Those who produce high-end tea would definitely feel a greater impact.
As Mute Uncle listened to the guest ramble on, he typed expressionlessly on his phone: "I don’t believe in gods!"
Seeing Mute Uncle’s attitude, the guest didn’t pursue the matter further, but thinking about the recent news about Xiao Feng Mountain, he asked:
"Aren’t you worried that they might move the ancestral hall back here?"
"They can dream on!" The voice from the phone was rough and strong.
