Conquering a fantasy world with the US Army.-Chapter 9: how did these things threaten humans?
Chapter 9: how did these things threaten humans?
The FOB became active as Chinooks started to be loaded with the companies that would attack the two lightly guarded villages, and M270s loaded their pods and made their way to their firing points, putting the coordinates in for their fire missions. As I watched in real time, the army moving through the forest was moving quickly. This was going to wear out their warriors who ever is leading the army is a fool, they have the element of surprise on their side why are they rushing it and pushing the soldiers this hard they will make it to the village in about twenty minutes and the companies that were going to attack that village first had their first unloading meaning I am still a step ahead of them. I want to get my men in place before the army attacks the village. Granted, I doubt I will make it, but that battle will take a while, as they don't have any siege weapons.
"Do these green fuckers know anything about War?" I said, making the General look at me before speaking. "From what I can tell, they believe might is right, and you don't need to think about how you fight; you just need to break everything in your path. Their fighting style is shit against modern warfare, you can only break your enemy if you can get close to them which isn't going to happen with modern weapons unless you get the jump on us but I doubt they can do that." General Matthews said, making me nod in agreement. "Sir, A Company and B Company of the 2/75th Rangers have been unloaded and are starting to make their way to their area of attack." A sergeant said.
"ETA for the Companies of the 3/75th Rangers to their landing point is 25 mikes." A PFC yelled out as I marked where my people are watching on the map, and I spoke up. "The two companies for the other village land them at the landing point for the first village, to back up their sister companies if need be. We can attack that village after we claim these three, just in case anything pops up, it's better not to make ourselves too thin along the line." I said, making the General get on the radio and call those rangers, rerouting them.
As we watched the village, the birds in the woods started to take off in massive numbers. "It's game time, gentlemen." As I said, the Orcs walked out of the tree line, roaring. This tells me it's a personal Orc thing going on and not because of me. Granted, they may not even care if I killed a couple of them in the woods, and they would have just thought of those Orcs as weak; they must have bad blood between villages.
"You got to be shiting me." The General said. As I looked at the screen, I saw that the Orcs in the village were leaving the walled village. "They are that dumb I guess, Why the hell would you leave the perks of your walled village to fight a force that outnumbers you unless you have something to give you an edge that can make that up you would be stupid to fight a battle on unfavorable terms unless you had no other choice." I put too much respect on people who were known to be warriors, but are more like thugs than anything close to a warrior.
"Emperor, the two companies have landed and are now making their way to the other two," said someone as I spoke up. "Relay new orders. I want them to take up new positions to the east of them, making an L-shaped contact line. Once the battle comes to its closing end, engage the Orcs left. Don't let them enter the village, as I want to keep that place intact as much as possible until I upgrade it." I called out, and they relayed my orders.
"Sir, the companies at the other villages have begun their attack; they have met little fight from them, and one has entered the village already." I nodded and looked at my system. I was already at level 19, which made me smile. I will upgrade a COP soon, but should I upgrade COP Glory or one of these villages, as they are further out? If I get to thirty today, I will make the two villages I was planning on attacking into FOBs, as they are further out from New Rome and will play a safety net for my main FOB. I had made up my mind that COP Glory would have to wait.
"Pass my orders, once they take those villages, turn them into a temporary COP until I build a real one, for the next couple of days. So try not to damage them as much as you can." I said. This was a very profitable day. It has been confirmed that at least the smaller tribes and maybe the lower tribes aren't anything to worry about. But I will still not underestimate the middle or upper ones. "I will be heading out, General, you're in command now." After I said that, he saluted me and I returned it.
Meanwhile, on the battlefield.
"Would you just look at that, it's like a bar fight but with killing. And they are something to be feared? They look like punks that would cave on the modern battlefield." Said the First Sergeant of Alpha Company 2/75th Ranger Regiment. "Don't underestimate them, First Sergeant, they may be dumb, but they've got the special people kind of strength if you know what I mean." Said a SFC, making the platoon bust out laughing.
"Get ready; the battle is slowly dying down," said the CPT. As they waited for the order, the sound of weapons being switched on fire could be heard. They started to salivate at the thought of battle and the slaughter that was about to befall the enemies of their Emperor. "Mortars ready!" "Half-load!" "SEND IT!" The sound of mortar fire rang out from the other side of the hill and then from the forest, making the Orcs look around, trying to figure out what that was, until the sound of whistling could be heard above them, as they looked up, only for explosions to ring out a second later. The opening of the machine gun fire from the hilltops and the forest brush struck the confused Orcs.

They started to rush the two sides, killing them, trying to destroy whatever was slaughtering them. Still, the confusion on the battlefield lead to more dying as they trampled the wounded on the ground with int three minutes the gun fire and mortar fire stopped the smell of gunpowder filled the air and the moans of the Orcs still alive laying on the ground or trying to get up only to get shot in the head until everything became silent once more.
"Alpha Company begins clean-up. Kill the wounded. We don't take these things as prisoners, " the CPT said before picking up the radio. The One Below, this is Grim—battle entering clean-up phase, no wounded or KIA. Over," he said, waiting for the reply. "Copy, out." As the CPT stood up and started walking down the hill with his company, Bravo doing overwatch, Charlie company left the woods, and both CPTs nodded to each other as their people began to kill the wounded.
