Cultivating for a hundred lifetimes to ascension-Chapter 645 - 396 The Path of the Primordial Spirit
Chapter 645 -396 The Path of the Primordial Spirit
Half a day later, Zhao Sheng, smiling profusely, accompanied the Qingshan Ancestor and another to the edge of the secret mansion, then sent the two out of the secret mansion.
After a short while, Zhao Sheng flew back to the terrace, took his seat again on the jade couch, and with a flick of his right hand, an ancient book had fallen into his grasp.
He carefully flipped open the ancient book, his eyes greedily devouring the content, completely forgetting the events that had just transpired.
If someone were standing behind Zhao Sheng at this time, observing the pages of the ancient book, they would be astonished to discover that the pages were completely blank, not a single character in sight.
The reason for this was that this nameless ancient book was “handwritten” by Zhao Xuanjing using the power of his Primordial Spirit. Without a Nascent Soul-level Divine Thought and the specific “frequency” of Divine Thought, it was impossible to comprehend the “text” on the pages.
This ancient book’s cover didn’t even bear a name, but it was one of the most important underpinnings of the Southern Sky Zhao Family.
For this book recorded the entire cultivation experience of a Divinity Transformation True Monarch, with each word a gem, each phrase laden with deep meaning.
The ancients said, “A single word of a true transmission surpasses ten thousand volumes of spurious teachings.”
In Zhao Sheng’s view, this nameless ancient book was undoubtedly a “classic that would endure through the ages.”
Merely skimming it a few times yielded great rewards, resolving countless doubts in his heart and largely revealing the path ahead in his cultivation.
In his previous life, although he had also stepped into the Nascent Soul Realm, being an unaffiliated cultivator, he was not very clear about the path beyond Nascent Soul cultivation, especially regarding various critical junctures and doubts, about which he was utterly confused.
As a result, during the decades after his advancement to Nascent Soul, his cultivation progressed extremely minimally, and his strength improved at a terrifyingly slow rate.
But after finishing this classic, Zhao Sheng had an epiphany.
It turned out that it was not that his advancement was slow, but that he had not found the correct direction for cultivation.
From the very day he began cultivation, Zhao Sheng knew it was divided into four major stages: “Refining Essence to Qi, Refining Qi and Returning to Spirit, Refining God and Returning to Void, and Refining Void and Merging Dao.”
The Nascent Soul is the fourth realm, following Qi Refinement, Foundation Establishment, and Golden Core, and from the perspective of the four stages, it is in the latter half of “Refining Qi and Returning to Spirit.”
At this point, “Refining Qi” is no longer the focus of cultivators’ practice; instead, “Returning to Spirit” is crucial.
The word “Returning” succinctly captures the essence of cultivation in the Nascent Soul Realm.
“Returning” also implies the notion of replenishment and completion.
It should be known that a key hallmark of becoming a Divinity Transformation True Monarch is the creation of a Primordial Spirit.
Therefore, for cultivators in the Nascent Soul Realm, the most important goal during the “Refining Qi and Returning to Spirit” stage is to achieve a Primordial Spirit.
However, forming a Primordial Spirit is as difficult as reaching the heavens, since it is based on the Taoist Law.
Why do Nascent Soul Ancestors covet the Outer Heaven Mysterious Essence so desperately? Simply because the Mystic Crystal contains a certain chance of encompassing traces of the Taoist Law.
Such “secrets” have always been transmitted orally, without leaving a trace in writing.
In his previous life, Zhao Sheng was essentially on his own, how could he have known such top-secret information?
Now that he had read it, he could only beat his chest and sigh, lamenting: Knowledge monopoly is truly a scourge in cultivation!
Thinking this, Zhao Sheng couldn’t help but feel sentimental. After lifetimes of effort, his family had finally grown a towering tree capable of sheltering his own cultivation and illuminating his path forward.
The cultivation of the Nascent Soul Realm may sound simple—merely the matter of “Returning to Spirit.”
But in reality, 99% of Nascent Soul Ancestors can’t even touch the threshold of Divinity Transformation, let alone achieve a Primordial Spirit.
The reasons are basically threefold:
First, the lack of True Scripture Treasures that direct one towards a Primordial Spirit;
Second, insufficient comprehension of the Taoist Law, leading to an unstable foundation for the Primordial Spirit.
Third, the Qi Fortune environment of Tianzhu Realm is too sparse, and there are very few places full of Spiritual Energy that can satisfy the needs of Nascent Soul Ancestors’ cultivation.
Outwardly, Nascent Soul Ancestors appear lofty and carefree, like Immortals, but in essence, they are a group of woeful “poor ones.”
Should one settle for remaining at the Nascent Soul level, that might be fine, as they could still roam freely for a thousand years and enjoy boundless bliss.
But those who aspire to reach higher realms are truly in for a difficult time.
Setting aside Refining God for the moment, let’s discuss the growth of Mana.
Because the tier of Mana is so high, environments with Spirit Veins of third-tier or lower are no longer sufficient for the cultivation of Nascent Soul cultivators.
Even if they were sufficient, the speed of extraction and refining of Spiritual Energy from the environment is despairingly slow.
Therefore, normally, Nascent Soul Ancestors have three popular cultivation methods: the first is using top-grade or top-grade Spirit Stones for cultivation, the second is consuming High-level Spirit Pills, at least third-tier ones. The most luxurious and the quickest way to improve is to directly refine the Outer Heaven Mysterious Essence.
But the Mystic Crystal is so precious and rare that even Zhao Xuanjing is reluctant to “waste” it in such a manner.
One should know that to activate an Ascension Array, a sufficient quantity of Outer Heaven Mysterious Essence is necessary.
Although the Ascension Array is currently barely functional, what about the future? What if one day the Array is restored by some great talent?
To sum it up in one sentence: The declining Spiritual Energy environment of the Tianzhu Realm no longer satisfies the cultivation needs of the Nascent Soul Realm.
To achieve a Primordial Spirit, relying solely on “competing with peers” and “seizing opportunities” is insufficient; one ultimately needs the support of the Heavenly Dao.
Coincidentally, Zhao Sheng now has great merit, and what he lacks the least is the Qi Fortune of the Heavenly Dao.
So long as resources are adequate, he has a great chance of ascending to the Absolute Peak of this world.
Let’s leave those distant futures aside for now and focus on the present.
In terms of the Nascent Soul Realm, this realm can be divided into early, middle, and late stages, and the criteria for division are very complex, but there’s also a simple and crude standard for assessment.
One can distinguish using the “height” of the Nascent Soul Magic Body, where from one inch to three inches is considered the Early-stage Nascent Soul, four to six inches is the middle stage, and seven to nine inches is the Late-stage Nascent Soul.
When the height exceeds one foot, there’s a significant likelihood that the Magic Body will transform into a Primordial Spirit. Of course, it’s not certain, as some powerful Nascent Soul Ancestors lack sufficient understanding of the Taoist Law, ultimately failing to achieve Divinity Transformation.
