Cultivating in the Wizard World-Chapter 244 - 215: Exploration, Beasts of Burden, and Debt_3
Viola couldn’t help but sigh, her tone tinged with complexity and resignation: "Indeed, typically developing a plane involves substantial ’investment’ in the early stages. Many ordinary Sixth Level Wizards need to incur debt, amounting to billions of military merits, just to barely complete the initial development of a plane."
She looked at the distant Augustine Wizard, with an undeniable hint of envy in her voice: "But with the rare resource of a Living Plane, Augustine Wizard might recoup all his early investments just from charging ’tickets’ to other Wizards, and even make a surplus!"
Jeming also sighed, though there was a hint of regret in his heart.
The precious resource of a Living Plane, he’s unlikely to encounter again anytime soon.
Unfortunately, the core outskirts of the Ice and Flame Plane were covered with densely packed, leaf-like translucent Runes.
These Runes formed powerful isolating Force Fields, not only sealing the consciousness of the Living Plane but also blocking external scrutiny.
Without Augustine Wizard’s consent, no one can enter the core, let alone conduct research.
And with his current level of expertise, he couldn’t even approach the Runes, much less study entities of such caliber.
He was still a Low Level Wizard, far from the Realm where one can freely access and study plane cores.
Jeming suddenly felt curious and turned to Viola: "Senior, why are you here?"
Given Viola’s nature, she’s typically uninterested in spectator events unless they can cause many people Pain.
Viola was about to answer when a familiar voice beside her answered Jeming’s question.
"Because... I need to take her back to repay her debt properly."
Jeming turned abruptly to see that the newcomer was Professor Clark!
He was still unkempt as before, and his trademark messy hair seemed a little more bald.
His appearance maintained that "senior workhorse" fatigue.
With dark circles under his eyes, as if he had just climbed out of a laboratory.
Viola sighed when she heard this. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
Knowing she couldn’t escape, she explained to Jeming with a hint of resignation: "Back then... that vial of ’Soul Ascension Potion’ was bought with a loan from my mentor!"
The resignation and frustration in her voice was palpable: "The price was... having to work for him for over a thousand years! It’s practically a lifetime contract!"
Clark looked at her expressionlessly: "Given your earning ability, having you work for a thousand years is a very reasonable rate."
He paused, then added: "Of course, now that you’ve just been promoted to Sixth Level Wizard, if you further hone your skills in Magic Potion and advance to Master of Magic Potions, this working period might be shortened to under a hundred years."
Upon hearing this, Viola sighed again, and even Jeming couldn’t help but shrink his neck.
Even reducing it to a hundred years is an astronomical number for Jeming, a debt so large it’s like a "cosmic figure"!
Remembering he also had a loan to repay with the mentor, Jeming felt a sense of shared misfortune with his senior.
He immediately understood that Professor Clark came here to take Viola, the ’invaluable’ Sixth Level Wizard, back to work relentlessly!
Professor Clark looked at Jeming, nodded, as a greeting.
Jeming adjusted his clothes slightly, solemnly saluting Professor Clark: "Mentor..."
"Hmm, not bad." Clark nodded slightly, "To encounter such an event on your first independent expedition, luck really is enviable."
Jeming smiled, unsure what to say.
For High Level Wizards, this was indeed lucky, but for him as a Low Level Wizard, it should be considered bad luck.
Clark didn’t care what Jeming was thinking, just turned to glance at the High Tier Wizards still landing intermittently in the sky:
"I came not only to study the Living Plane but also because Augustine invited me before, to help install the Cross-plane Spatial Teleportation Array. Seems we’ll be working together for some time."
Jeming’s face brightened at the news, but then suddenly thought, isn’t this just more excuses to "repay the loan"?
The problem is, while Wizards can still continuously provide Power of Red Dust, the quantity isn’t substantial.
Judging by recent collection results, providing two vials of Red Dust Potion monthly on time might really be challenging.
Thinking of this, Jeming couldn’t help gnashing his teeth, his face slightly downcast.
Clark seemingly saw through his thoughts, chuckled: "Don’t worry, at least until the Space Transmission Array is completed, you don’t need to worry about the debt."
Then, ignoring Jeming’s relieved expression, Professor Clark skillfully grabbed Viola by the back of her collar like a chick.
Ignoring Viola’s helpless and powerless struggling gaze, Clark directly carried her toward Augustine Wizard, who had been waiting with a smile almost bursting with flowers.
Jeming clicked his tongue, tucked his head, and left straight away.
Clearly, before returning to school to exhaust herself for Professor Clark, Viola probably has to stay here first, assisting him to earn "interest" for a long time!
If he doesn’t hurry up to gather resources and pay off the debt, he might end up working exactly like Viola.
