Daddy, You Got The Wrong Mommy-Chapter 372: Teach Her a Lesson
Victoria Don paced back and forth in the room, her heart filled with fear.
Gavin Miles and Damon Hawke were both arrested last night, Gavin was detained, but Damon returned safely!
How could this be!
Never mind how the police showed up suddenly, but how is Damon unharmed?
He clearly drank the tea she made for him, how did they not find anything wrong?
Could it be he didn’t drink the tea she made?
Impossible!
The next morning, she purposely checked the teapot, and the water was all gone.
Could it be that he saw through her collusion with Gavin and played along?
At the thought of this possibility, Victoria’s face turned pale.
What should she do?
Damon was no longer under control, what should she do?
A knocking sound came from the door, followed by a maid’s voice.
"Miss Thorne, please come downstairs for a moment."
Victoria snapped back to reality, took a deep breath, and opened the door.
It can’t be, it’s all just her speculation.
Damon still has the Gu, she didn’t believe she couldn’t control him.
Victoria elegantly descended the stairs, and with an inadvertent glance, saw two police officers speaking with Damon.
Why are there still police at the Hawthorne’s?
Victoria’s heart skipped a beat; she struggled to control her quickening heartbeat as she slowly approached.
"Tom."
Damon turned his head slightly, giving her a slight glance.
Victoria looked at him charmingly, wanting to go up and hold his arm.
At this moment, the two officers took a step forward and said, "You must be Miss Thorne? Henry Harris confessed that you were involved in their smuggling operations, please come with us to the police station for an investigation."
Upon hearing this, Victoria shivered and her face turned deathly pale.
"I didn’t, Henry Harris is lying!"
That old bastard Henry Harris, how could he drag her into this!
"Whether he’s lying or not, we’ll find out through investigation; now please come with us."
One of the officers said sternly, gesturing for Victoria to follow them.
Victoria trembled with fear, grabbing Damon’s arm, her eyes turning red as she looked at him.
"Tom, I don’t want to go to the police station, please tell them I’m innocent."
This time, she wasn’t pretending to cry; she was genuinely on the verge of tears.
The sight of the woman’s tears made Damon’s heart constrict sharply.
He clenched his fists, reached out, and patted her hand.
"Don’t be afraid; go with them for the investigation. As long as I’m here, I won’t let anything happen to you."
"But—"
"Trust me, okay?"
Damon’s voice was purposely gentle, his dark eyes looking at her deeply.
Victoria bit her lip, thinking of the Gu in his body, and nodded.
"I trust you. Tom, you must come and pick me up soon."
If he doesn’t come to pick her up soon, she won’t be the only one to suffer.
"I will, go on."
Damon signaled the officers to take Victoria away.
Victoria looked back every few steps, her eyes red as she watched him.
Damon fought the urge to comfort her, suppressing the pain in his heart, and looked away.
The woman said not to do anything to Victoria for now.
Wait until she returns to deal with her.
Yes, he would listen to her.
"Truly satisfying, Tom, Victoria was taken away too. You see, she and Uncle are in league."
Andrew King said to Damon.
The Hawthorne were all there, looking at Damon, their eyes filled with hope that he would see reality clearly.
Damon’s eyes shifted slightly, and he smiled, "I believe she is innocent."
He and Amelia Miles were still playing the charade.
Should they keep acting?
"Tom, even now you still trust her? Have you really lost your mind?"
Vinny Hawke couldn’t help but say.
Damon looked at her, the smile lingering on his lips.
"Mom, do you curse your own son like this?"
"I’m not cursing you, I just..."
"Tom, I feel like you’re not worried about Victoria at all. Are you pretending?"
Elder Hawthorne, having lived a long life, seemed to have caught on, his face full of probing curiosity.
Damon’s gaze fell on Elder Hawthorne, his lips curling as he turned to head upstairs.
"Wisdom comes with age, Grandpa, I need to go upstairs to handle some things."
Watching Damon’s back, the Hawthorne were stunned in place.
Realizing, they exchanged glances, both surprised and delighted.
He’s acting?
This kid has been hiding it from everyone!
Police station.
Victoria was taken into a small dark room.
With a click, the lights turned on, piercing Victoria’s eyes.
Victoria quickly shielded her gaze with her hand, discontented, "Can you dim the lights a bit?"
The officer across the table sat down and said sternly, "Victoria Don, do you think we’re in a café and I’m offering you coffee? Sit tight and start confessing."
Victoria barely adjusted to the harsh light and said, "What do you want me to confess? I know nothing."
"Playing dumb! Henry Harris has already confessed; it was your idea to drag Hawke Group into this mess, you’re the mastermind."
The officer shouted fiercely.
Victoria’s expression shifted.
That old scoundrel Henry Harris!
He actually managed to pin everything on her in the end!
"He’s lying! He’s slandering me! Don’t ask anymore, I know nothing!"
She decided to remain silent from this moment, waiting for Damon to rescue her.
The officer saw her silence and his face turned grave.
He slammed his hand on the table, stood up, and turned off the camera.
Then he turned the lights up to the maximum, grabbed Victoria’s hair, and aimed the beam at her eyes.
"Victoria Don, are you going to confess or not?"
The bosses ordered to teach this woman a lesson.
As long as it’s not too excessive.
Victoria’s eyes watered from the strong light, and she screamed instantly.
"Let go of me! As a public official, how dare you coerce me with torture! I’m going to report you!"
"For stubborn suspects, I have to get tough, you think I’m having a chat with you?"
"Let go of me! Let go! Tom, come save me!"
Victoria’s tears streamed down, and she cried out loudly in distress.
The officer snorted coldly and shoved her away.
Victoria quickly wiped her tears, shrinking by the chair, her body trembling.
"You wait, I will definitely report you."
Damn it, once I get out, this man will pay!
"You should be grateful you’re a woman. If you were a man, you wouldn’t be sitting there so peacefully."
The officer’s face was full of mockery.
Victoria swallowed hard, glaring at the officer hatefully.
Frightened, she felt the urge to use the restroom.
She quickly shouted, "I need to go to the restroom!"
The officer glanced at her, got up, and turned the camera back on.
"Need the restroom? Fine, just confess truthfully, and I’ll have someone take you."
What!
He wouldn’t even let her use the restroom!
That damned bastard!
Victoria’s chest heaved with anger, "I’m not a criminal, you can’t treat me like this! Unlock these cuffs, I need the restroom!"
"Hold it in."
The officer spat out two words, not forgetting to pick up a cup and slowly pour water on the floor.
The sound of water trickling down acted as a lure.
Victoria tightened her legs, feeling the need to go even more.
That damned man was definitely doing it on purpose!
