Damned Healer-Chapter 149: Sky And Earth Illuminator
Chapter 149: Sky And Earth Illuminator
After that weird moment, Darian got back on track.
"Now that you get it, let’s get to the point."
He taught the twins how to move the ring’s power into their spiritual roots. Their rings only had a bit of power, but it was enough.
In an instant, both of them felt a strange connection forming. Then... their eyes rolled back, and they were hit with a wave of pain.
Niara jumped. She moved fast, reaching out toward the two of them, who were trembling in clear agony.
Darian focused — and then he felt it. Something chaotic inside them. Completely out of control, like a pool of water swirling in every direction. He let out a breath — exactly what his master had predicted.
He activated his rings. A bit of black and white power flowed into the twins’ spiritual roots. Darian then created a special black-and-white rune — each one got a pair.
The moment he placed the runes on them, their spiritual roots absorbed them and fused with them. It was like the missing piece — everything stabilized in seconds.
Their expressions eased, the pain was gone. They looked at Darian, then at Niara, who still had a worried, distressed look. Both of them gave her an awkward nod — they could tell Niara was genuine and saw them as important. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
"Try again," Darian said calmly.
The two of them took a deep breath...
The cave lit up.
Both caterpillars started glowing intensely.
It was a light that shifted from white to black, sometimes turning gray in between.
Darian nodded, satisfied, and began teaching them how to manipulate the runes he’d given them.
They got the hang of it easily. The light flowed out from their bodies, shifting and changing shape based on their will.
"Good. Now watch and feel this," Darian said, then showed them his black power.
It was easier this way than trying to explain. The twins looked at it, and their eyes went wide in surprise. It felt kinda like what they sensed in Niara — but there was no danger in it.
The black power was like nature itself. There was life in it — but also death. No evil. No intent to destroy.
At the same time, it wasn’t something you could mess with lightly.
Darian taught them a bit, trying to get them to the point where they could use it to attack. Their power should be able to do that.
Niara volunteered as the test dummy. The twins focused and tried over and over again.
After a few hours, Lucy was the first to get it.
"!"
In that moment, Niara’s eyes widened. Her bloodline sensed something totally off — like the whole world was shifting and locking onto her as the target.
The light around the yellow caterpillar turned pitch black. Lucy’s eyes lit up with a wild kind of excitement.
That black light started growing. And growing. But it wasn’t Lucy doing it — it was like the laws of the universe themselves were reacting and boosting her.
Lucy nodded, then fired a black arrow straight at Niara.
*Bang!*
It hit her square in the chest. Niara staggered back several steps and coughed up a mouthful of blood. Her scales had covered her body, but they were nearly shattered from the blow.
Darian watched it all, feeling it, shocked.
It was a terrifying attack — it had a similar vibe to his black power. But it wasn’t the same, and it had only used a tiny bit of the power from their rings.
Once the base was formed... the power grew on its own.
"The heavenly laws... I see..." Darian muttered, understanding now.
Every living being, based on their karma, was affected by the heavenly laws. If your karma was really dark and heavy, all kinds of bad or weird stuff could happen. If it was really white, the opposite. But obviously, that was just influence. In the end, your choices were what defined everything.
When Lucy activated her power, her connection to the heavenly laws caused Niara’s karma to get pulled in — and that helped boost the power even more.
Darian’s power used karma as fuel. But Lucy and Lucius couldn’t do that. Still, through their roots and their link with the laws, they could create power that was connected to karma.
Lucy jumped in shock and had her partner rush over to Niara. But Niara straightened up and gave a faint smile — she was totally fine.
A few hours later, Lucius managed to pull off the same thing Lucy did. His attack was almost identical, just a bit weaker in terms of raw power.
Then, Darian called in a beast from outside — one that had a wound still in the process of healing.
He encouraged the twins to try healing it, showing them his white power so they could feel it. Basically, they’d have to flip their light to the opposite side.
It didn’t take long. Lucius was the first to get it.
The light around the purple caterpillar turned white. Then it touched the beast’s wound... it took almost half an hour, but the wound fully healed.
It was nowhere near Darian’s potential, but still — they could heal. And possibly purify corruption too.
Compared to normal healing blessings, this was on a whole different level. For most people, they’d already be considered divine healers.
A few hours later, Lucy managed to do it too. But she took almost an hour to heal another beast with a similar wound.
The twins had similar powers, but they were already showing differences. And as they kept improving, those differences would only grow.
After that, their light showed more uses — when it turned grayish, it could be used for defense, and even to manipulate elements in the environment.
"So that’s it... you two belong to the Mystic class. You can take on any role," Darian confirmed with a slight nod.
Lucy and Lucius exchanged a look and some thoughts. It took them about a minute to decide, clearly excited. Everyone had a blessing with a name. Darian said they’d be creating their own, so it had to be something that stood out.
"My blessing will be: Sky Illuminator," Lucy said, her eyes shining.
"Mine will be Earth Illuminator," Lucius added right after.
Darian nodded, and Niara gave a faint smile.
Now, the two of them had a solid foundation, and Darian’s job was done. The rest was up to them. From here on out, they’d have to build and shape their powers on their own.
"Hmm... I don’t think my martial art fits them," Niara muttered, glancing over at Ariu and Rion.
The boy, Rion, stood up and said, a little shaky, "I-I learned to fight with anything. B-but I was best with long weapons."
"A-and... I like using a bow. I can hit anything accurately..." Ariu, the girl, added right after.
"It’s fine, we’ll get you guys martial arts later," Darian said casually, then opened his inventory.
A silver bow and a blue spear appeared. They were items from the Earth Clan’s treasure vault, which he’d brought with him.
Darian handed them to the Summoners. They were average weapons by Earth standards. Then he looked at the four of them.
"You have three days to train together. After that, you’ll have to show me what you’ve learned. It’s gonna be an insanely intense training, so be ready."
"Yes!" the four of them responded in an oddly perfect sync.
Niara chuckled and walked out of the cave with Darian.
