Damned Healer-Chapter 191: Anomaly
Chapter 191: Anomaly
The moment Irana said that, she saw something terrifying. All the natives froze, noticing the same thing. Even the other alliances, way off in the distance, stopped what they were doing to look.
"HOW DARE YOU?!"
Woldi roared in rage. The golden energy flowing from his supreme artifact into his entire army... suddenly stopped. He was the one controlling it — and instantly felt who the culprit was.
It was Darian.
His shout made everyone’s eyes widen. There wasn’t any energy fluctuation... How the hell was that human doing this?
Woldi’s blessing was pretty damn powerful in a battlefield, yeah — but it had just met its natural enemy. Those rings on Darian’s wrists could force that external energy to freeze, stop flowing completely.
Right then, Irana felt a gust of wind. Turning her head, she saw a young man with calm eyes walking over. Behind him were several elves and the Zroot.
Lucius took a deep breath. Suddenly, a brilliant white light burst from his entire body. Thanks to the enemy’s disgusting actions, his blessing had just multiplied several times over.
He smiled gently at Irana, then a wave of pure white light flowed into her, spreading through her veins. In ten seconds, she felt the poison completely burn away — gone.
"We gotta go, Sister Irana," he said softly, holding his hand out to help her stand.
It took her a second to react, but then she grabbed his hand and stood up. Looking around, she saw the elves and Zroot helping the survivors from her alliance. Nearby, another young human girl was healing people, her whole body glowing with that same holy light.
Thirty seconds later, Lucius said calmly, "We need to move."
Right as he spoke, Udynes and Barod’s voices echoed out. All of Niara’s alliance was suddenly wrapped in wind magic, conjured by Udynes. A green aura surrounded everyone, and then a huge blast of wind launched their group straight toward the center of the battlefield.
As they got further away, Irana turned back, stunned by the sight of that one lone figure standing there, completely surrounded.
"Darian... he..."
"Don’t worry. My brother doesn’t fear anyone. But hurry up. He told us to collect as many essences as we can. If we don’t do it now, we won’t get another chance," Lucius said casually beside her.
All the surviving members of Irana’s alliance were safe now. Seeing their saviors ignore everything else and start gathering essences, they took a deep breath... and followed.
Irana, though, clenched her fists, staring back at Darian. He was alone. Surrounded by the enemy army. Every single one of them glaring at him with pure rage.
But... there was that lazy, cocky smile on his face.
The whole rescue took less than a minute. Before anyone from Woldi’s alliance could even react, Darian spoke:
"You really think you’re clever, huh? Running around killing whoever you want, stomping on everyone like nothing’s ever gonna come back at you. People like you always surprise me... Y’all must just be sick of living, huh?"
"Filthy human! Do you even know who you’re talking to?!" Woldi roared, his eyes glowing with bloodlust.
He’d tested it multiple times — the artifact’s power wasn’t flowing to his army at all. Fine then. He gritted his teeth and waved his hand.
All that golden energy stopped going to his army... and instead rushed straight into him.
Darian tried to stop it, but this time, his rings couldn’t hold it back. When Woldi focused the blessing entirely on himself, it became something way stronger than what Darian could block right now.
Woldi’s whole body lit up. His humanoid form shattered.
A colossal winged beast emerged. A Paradise Bird — a creature as beautiful as it was terrifying. Its feathers weren’t soft or delicate but huge titan-like golden plates, reflecting light like polished diamond.
That golden energy wrapped around him, fusing with his ring’s power until it got so dense that the space around him started cracking.
Any native who looked directly at him felt their eyes burn. Some started bleeding instantly, having to turn away and shut their eyes.
Darian let out a long sigh and walked forward lazily, his voice completely flat: "Who you are means absolutely nothing to me. My time’s valuable, and a little piece of shit like you isn’t worth much."
"Hahahaha!" Woldi threw his head back, laughing like a maniac. Meanwhile, even more golden energy poured down from the supreme artifact, getting absorbed by him.
The natives were horrified. Yeah, some had tried attacking the artifact floating up in the air earlier — but none of their attacks had done anything. The damn thing didn’t even seem to be fully physical.
Then, suddenly, Darian spun around and yelled: "What the hell are you all waiting for?! Fight with your own hands!"
All the natives flinched. Snapped right out of their shock, they gripped their weapons tight. Almost a third of them had died in just a few minutes, but now... the power those six thousand had was just—gone.
"KILL!!"
They roared in pure frenzy, sending chills down the spines of every Spiritual Guardian around.
The tables had completely turned. The natives, who were never weak to begin with, now charged with double the numbers.
*Buzz!*
Space trembled, and the pressure coming from Woldi multiplied like crazy. It felt like he had infinite power—enough to crush everyone there with ease.
Far away, those two demons from planets 8 and 9 watched silently. But a crooked grin tugged at their lips. Yeah... the feeling everyone had wasn’t wrong. Woldi, fully using his supreme artifact plus his blessing, could probably take both of them on at the same time.
Of course, the artifact was still releasing power slowly—that was his weakness. But Woldi had his ways. He could drag the fight out long enough while absorbing everything. The demons had cards of their own too, but the cost would be massive. That’s exactly why their planets had made deals to avoid this fight.
Everyone outside the epicenter quickly shifted their focus to one single person.
A healer. Some harmless-looking healer... who just stood there, staring calmly at Woldi. Was he crazy or fearless? Nobody could tell—but everyone was tense.
But one thing was clear... the way he looked at Woldi? It was pure arrogance. Complete contempt.
Woldi felt it too. That same contempt. Darian didn’t even say a single word — it was just the look in his eyes. And it made Woldi’s rage skyrocket beyond anything he’d ever felt.
"Who would’ve thought... that pathetic little planet, from an even more pathetic galaxy, was hiding a supreme artifact strange enough... to mess with mine. Perfect... it’ll all be mine," Woldi hissed, voice dripping with malice.
Of course. That was the obvious conclusion. Everyone thought the same — Darian must’ve brought some weird supreme artifact that could do this.
Woldi spread his wings. The sky and the earth twisted under his power. Right in that moment, even the top demons felt a primal fear crawling up their spines.
Woldi laughed. "TODAY I WILL—"
"Oh for fuck’s sake, are you ever gonna shut up?!" Niara yelled straight into Darian’s head.
Woldi stopped mid-sentence, pissed off... but—
Darian moved.
It was just a dagger. A small one. He casually flicked it in a straight line toward Woldi.
Everyone watched, confused as hell. Was this a joke? There was literally zero energy in it. Looked like some random mortal throwing a kitchen knife. Except... there was a weird rune glowing faintly on the blade.
Woldi didn’t even glance twice. He just flicked his wings, waving it away like trash—
*PIERCE!!*
A horrifying slicing sound ripped through the air, followed by golden blood splattering on the ground.
"What?!"
Every pair of eyes flew wide open. The dagger just... kept going. Straight through the wing. Straight through the golden aura. Then slammed into the chest of that massive winged beast...
...and punched clean through him. Like nothing was even there.
The gigantic body trembled. His eyes bulged wide in utter disbelief.
Then—
Darian appeared in front of him like a damn ghost. His face was calm. But the smirk on that tiny creature sitting on his head? Absolutely priceless.
He clenched his fist. A faint black aura flickered—Woldi saw it crystal clear.
*BANG!!*
The giant beast was blown sky-high. One punch, dead in the face, sent him flying in front of everyone’s shocked eyes.
A second later, his massive body smashed into the ground.
Silence.
Even the native army froze.
It was so sudden. Two simple moves. Flick a dagger. Throw a slow, lazy punch. And just like that... the whole world went dead silent.
An unstoppable beast got tossed like a ragdoll. People weren’t even sure what they were feeling anymore.
"All that talk, zero skill. Guess he just acts scary to freak people out," Niara scoffed, her voice echoing through the suffocating silence.
Nobody moved. An overwhelming aura—fake or not—seeped out from Darian.
Fake, because... he was just standing there. Normal. Calm. Same as before. But deep down, everyone felt this terrifying, primal fear. A fear of the unknown.
Darian was now a total anomaly. The worst kind of enemy—the one nobody had a damn clue what to expect from.
That man standing right there... looked like someone who feared absolutely nothing. And the question buzzing in everyone’s mind was—what else does he have hidden?
Then Darian moved again.
His rings lit up. Right away, the Yin and Yang stars pulsed, infused with the Phoenix’s blessing.
The moment it activated, the essences floating through the air started getting sucked in. Hard. Like 90% of it was getting dragged toward him.
All the people in the distance—those busy absorbing—instantly went cold.
Then Darian’s voice rang out, calm as hell: "The two primordial seeds are mine. Anyone got a problem with that... come take it."
