Chapter 195: Know Your Place

The chaotic battle kept going. Darian was really surprised — these Spiritual Guardians from the big planets were... pathetic. How the hell did they even survive until now?

They just kept doing simple and obvious moves. Even when it was clear it wasn’t working, they kept repeating the same thing, unable to think of anything new. Had they never faced a hard fight they couldn’t win the usual way?

Even that fight inside the array, against illusion beasts, had been harder.

Of course, Darian now was a completely different person. He was trained by Meru, learned to use his powers way better, and gained way more experience. But... there were so many enemies at once, all holding supreme artifacts. How the hell could they be this weak?

’These idiots are used to oppressing others and getting everything pretty easily. They’ve never even been close to real death in their lives,’ Niara read exactly what Darian was thinking and commented. ’Besides, they’re all young. In my universe, they only fight enemies they can beat. But you... besides your techniques being pretty broken, you’ve already been through so much...’

Darian nodded. These idiots actually reminded him of himself back when he had first discovered his powers. Way too brave, not skilled enough. Being born on a big planet with tons of resources had a pretty big downside too.

Still, they were all at most 30 years old. Maybe after a certain age, they’d actually get strong. Or maybe that’s exactly why their planets would never be that powerful. The real difference between them and Darian... was the time needed to mature.

*Woosh!*

With a Tempest Blink, Darian suddenly dashed straight toward one of the demons.

The demon was shocked. Darian actually ignored his barrier? He had pretended to leave an opening to get surrounded, and these idiots, so naive, fell for it so easily. Now he was charging in, holding an assassin’s sharp blade.

The demon’s face changed instantly. He awkwardly tried to attack Darian with his weapon, only for his expression to freeze the moment their weapons clashed.

From the start, he didn’t plan to fight directly. He was a tank and had a weird blessing of block and knockback. Nothing that involved cutting worked that well on him. His whole plan was to use Darian’s own attack to launch himself away, escaping his range. He didn’t even think about pulling out a supreme artifact...

But when their weapons collided... his blade stuck to Darian’s sword like glue.

In the exact instant his plan failed, before he could react, a flying dagger pierced through his head — blowing it up and killing him instantly.

The first genius from planet number 8 was killed by Darian... right in the middle of a fight against thousands of enemies.

The smell of fresh blood filled the air.

Whether it was the natives, his allies watching from far away, or even the enemies themselves... everyone stared at Darian, completely terrified. His power, his speed, his reflexes, his combat experience — everything was at the absolute peak. He looked invincible.

Niara watched proudly, but that was just an exaggerated impression from the outsiders. Yeah, Darian did have natural talent for fighting, but... a lot of this was because the black karma on these people was way more obvious than usual.

It wasn’t like fighting the Risen, whose movements he could predict perfectly. But right now, Darian could still sense the tiniest movements of karma and predict his opponent’s actions. Sometimes he messed up... but with his healing powers, it didn’t even matter.

Combined with his insane speed, regen, and physical body boosted by elemental power... against these idiots, he was like a god playing with dizzy ants.

Unfortunately, he couldn’t kill them that easily, and his power wasn’t infinite either.

*BOOM!*

Suddenly, a loud explosion echoed. The Yin and Yang essences stopped falling. Two colored lights appeared in the sky.

Screams echoed: "The Primordial Seeds!"

Time’s up — it was the end of the second test and the start of the final battle.

People swallowed hard. This meant Darian fought alone against everyone, killed seven of them... and no one could do a damn thing.

Worse... the whole time he kept collecting the essences.

Sure, he could’ve collected even more if he wasn’t busy fighting. But even so... right now, he had like 99.9% of all the essences — basically, if you summed up everything everyone else had, it wouldn’t even matter.

At that moment, the Primordial Seeds lit up. Two beams of light shot out from them. Everyone watched, holding their breath. And yeah... no surprise — the light started locking onto Darian.

*Buzz!*

It didn’t even take two seconds... when suddenly, everything shifted.

A buzzing sound echoed from the ground.

In one corner, two figures started radiating an intense, bright aura.

It was the two demons who had agreed to take the seeds together. Their bodies and eyes were glowing like lighthouses — one blue and the other red. It was the power coming from the corpses of the two phoenixes they had taken.

Darian narrowed his eyes. The light beam from the seeds distorted... and started focusing on them.

The natives were shocked and furious. They knew exactly where those demons’ power came from. They had killed the two goddesses, took their bodies, and even blasphemed against them.

Everyone turned to Darian. At that moment, none of them felt any kind of resentment toward him. The natives weren’t naive. They knew they’d never be able to get the seeds... but they would rather fight to the end and die trying.

Now, every single one of them deeply wished for Darian to get the seeds. He risked himself to save them, became the target of everyone, and never treated others like trash. On top of that, he was strong enough to honor the legacy of the two goddesses.

"We’re the ones destined to have this. You’re just a human slightly above average. Aren’t you getting a little full of yourself?" the blue demon stared at Darian, mocking.

Darian snorted coldly. "I said it from the start — I’m taking the seeds. You didn’t wanna fight me back then, and now you pull this trick? Since you think you’re destined... I’ll rip your life out."

"Hahaha!" the red demon laughed like crazy, staring at Darian from the distance.

*Woosh!*

But his laughter was suddenly cut off when a flying dagger shot straight toward him. At the same time, Darian charged furiously at him.

The blue demon waved his hand. A supreme artifact activated — space distorted, and the dagger vanished like it was sucked into another dimension.

"Just you? Keep dreaming!" — the blue demon laughed and suddenly activated another supreme artifact. A spear made of pure ice power appeared in his hand.

He pointed it forward. Just that movement froze everything in front of him.

Darian appeared right in front of him.

**BOOM!**

A huge explosion made all the light disappear. The impact shattered everyone’s eardrums — they couldn’t hear anything for a few seconds.

This time, it was Darian who got brutally blasted away. Blood was dripping all over his body. It was the first time he had been hurt that badly today.

"Pathetic. You really think we didn’t come prepared? No matter how strong you are, you’re nothing but an ant," the blue demon said, laughing.

Countless black runes started glowing all over his body. Each one held a terrifying explosive power. He just threw a dozen of them, and Darian got sent flying, wounded.

Everyone watching from afar swallowed hard. Before, every enemy only used one supreme artifact at a time. With their power limited to two rings at most, it was impossible to handle more than one. But this demon could.

That seemed to be the blue demon’s trump card. He had a supreme defensive artifact that made him immune to ranged attacks. The spear was another supreme artifact. The black runes were another... and his blessing seemed to connect it all, letting him use every piece together perfectly.

Even Woldi would’ve been in huge trouble fighting him. This blue demon was simply on another level. And that was just one of them — the other one definitely wouldn’t be any weaker.

Right now, the light coming from the sky and hitting his body got even brighter. The Primordial Seed started burning, pouring its power into him.

The seed wasn’t a physical object but an energy that fused into the winner.

But it was still a contest. It would take some time for the fusion to be complete. If he got killed, or if he broke the connection and gave up, everything inside him would get expelled, and the next in line could take it all.

The order should’ve been automatic, based on how much essence each person had collected before. But these demons were clearly cheating the system.

"My current self can kill you like I’d kill a chicken. Sit down and know your place. Maybe, just maybe, I’ll forget your arrogance and spare your worthless dog life," the blue demon laughed.

"Oh? Is that so?" Darian muttered coldly. But everyone could clearly feel the mockery and the killing intent overflowing from him.
