Damned Healer-Chapter 198: Decisive Moment
Chapter 198: Decisive Moment
The natives watched that army charging toward Darian and, without hesitation, raised their weapons. But...
"Stay where you are," the voice of the Ice Phoenix echoed, making all of them freeze instantly.
They had absolutely no chance against those elite demons. Before, Woldi’s alliance had way less power on average, and the natives had double the numbers they had now. Sure, they could throw themselves into a suicide fight to buy time... but the two Phoenixes realized that wouldn’t be needed.
Niara scoffed. She still had about a third of her power left.
"Go finish them, little sister," she murmured, staying perfectly still.
Suddenly, the sound of something massive sprinting echoed in the distance.
A distant screech, completely frenzied, shook the whole field. It was... a Paradise Bird, almost completely plucked, charging fast toward them.
"Woldi?!"
Some who were running noticed and turned, surprised. But... something was clearly very wrong with him, even if no one had realized it yet.
His eyes were pitch black. His consciousness was completely gone.
It was like a lifeless puppet, being pulled by invisible strings — controlled by some twisted, evil entity.
Not far from the center of the chaos, Lucy was hiding. Her eyes wide open... completely black too. Around that tiny human, a thick, twisted dark aura kept swirling.
Her technique, called Sinful Enchantment, was something pretty crazy — insanely useful too. After Darian managed to corrupt someone’s body, Lucy could take control of it, keeping the target’s soul unconscious. She was still learning how to use it... maybe someday she could even read memories or pull off even crazier stuff. frёeωebɳovel.com
Niara smiled slightly. "Damn... he looks ridiculous all plucked like that. This bastard’s gonna have the pathetic ending he deserves."
Lucy wasn’t just controlling the body — she could fully use all the power from the target’s ring. Of course, things like their blessing or complex techniques were still impossible... at least for now.
Woldi’s body was glowing with that intense orange power. He dashed forward like a missile, ignoring any consequences, moving at terrifying speed.
"Woldi? Finally, you’re back, damn it! Let’s finish th— wait... huh?"
It was only when he got really close that they realized something was seriously wrong.
Lucy grinned. ’Woldi’ leaped straight into the middle of the enemy swarm. His entire body glowed with overwhelming power... it was his own life.
"SKRAAAAW!"
**KBOOOM!!**
An absolutely insane explosion went off. Every bit of power he had got dumped all at once. The ones closest to him were just... erased from existence.
But it didn’t stop there...
The strongest figures started screaming in panic and terror as a black vortex sucked them in. Inside, it was like there were invisible blades shredding everything. As it spun, the vortex grew bigger and bigger, swallowing anyone nearby... and ripping them to pieces.
That was the black power inside his body. Nothing alive could escape.
"Oh!" Niara blinked, impressed. "Lucy got real cruel and creative with that one."
When it was over... nothing remained but blood and chunks of bodies scattered everywhere.
Lucy didn’t even look back. She’d grown a lot. She’d been through real battles now, and she understood perfectly — being cruel was the only way to survive enemies like these.
She let out a sharp breath and dashed forward. Her body glowed as white light wrapped around her. Without wasting a second, she jumped straight into the Light Domain.
The battle inside was absolute chaos. But those 57 demons... they were monsters. This was on a whole different level compared to fighting Darian.
This time, they were fighting like they didn’t care about their lives — going 100% with everything they had.
Even with only half their strength and without their supreme artifacts, the hundreds of enemies inside still couldn’t kill them... or even keep them under constant pressure.
The demons advanced in perfect sync, smashing through defensive barriers, forcing the walls back just so they could heal — getting dangerously close to Lucius.
The moment Lucy stepped into the Domain, Veyle — who had been right next to Lucius, fully focused — immediately turned around.
She was another secret card Darian had invested in creating. And now that Lucy was here to protect Lucius — who couldn’t fight inside the Domain — it was her turn to act.
"Ametheos!"
She shouted, slamming her wooden staff against the ground.
Right above her chest, on her pale skin, a dark rune appeared, pulsing like crazy.
A black shadow started forming around her. It twisted and grew, shooting up until it hit ten meters tall.
The whole air shifted. It got cold... heavy... violent...
*ROAR!*
The shadow thickened into something almost physical. And then... a primitive beast roared in pure rage.
Every single demon felt a terrifying pressure crash down on them. Their eyes widened like crazy when they saw that monster.
"What the fuck is that?!"
Before they could even react, Veyle had already pulled out a small vial with a red potion and a round blue pill. She popped the vial open, threw the pill inside, and the liquid instantly shifted to a deep, sick purple.
Ametheos lunged forward like a bloodthirsty ghost straight out of hell.
At the same time, Veyle tossed the vial into the air, right toward the enemies. Her eyes lit up orange, and her staff lifted high, activating her blessing.
*Crack*
The vial shattered midair, just as a mist formed, swallowing the liquid whole.
That mist... which was once white and pure like clean water... turned into a thick, poisonous purple cloud.
"FALL BACK!" Barod yelled to the Zroots and Matteo, who were still holding the frontline.
Veyle then guided the mist forward. Right as Ametheos crashed headfirst into the middle of the enemy.
Niara watched the whole thing from afar, impressed.
The demons started breathing that toxic mist in. But this wasn’t some regular poison — demons on this level couldn’t give two shits about normal toxins. Their race had an absurd natural resistance to that kind of thing.
But... paired with Veyle’s blessing — which could slip right inside their bodies and blow them up from within — the demons were forced to push their ring power entirely into defense. And they couldn’t defend against both at the same time.
The twisted poison slipped in. Thin purple lines started spreading through their eyes and their skin.
*BOOM!*
Meanwhile, Ametheos was like a starving wolf dropped into a pen full of clueless sheep. The poison didn’t affect him at all. Veyle couldn’t fully control this technique yet, so her allies had to stay back or risk getting wrecked by it too.
Five minutes flew by.
Darian felt it — less than two minutes now, and the fusion would be complete.
Inside the Light Domain, Veyle was straight-up wrecking the fight. She completely flipped the whole battle on its head. Not every demon was hit directly, but with the allies sniping from a distance, their numbers plummeted fast.
At this point... less than fifteen demons were still alive.
Victory was finally in sight.
Until... everything flipped.
Up in the sky, the two Phoenixes — who were still keeping that sealed power under control — suddenly felt it vanish.
Everyone looked up.
The two pairs of eyes — the leftover power from the Phoenixes’ bodies — started dissolving into raw energy.
Darian saw it crystal clear... that leftover power fused straight into the two hidden immortal souls.
And then... two demonic figures materialized in the sky.
Their eyes radiated a soul-crushing pressure. Anyone who dared look at them felt their soul straight-up tremble.
Even Niara froze. Those two — even if they were just fragments — were immortals on the same scale as the Divine Dragon. Here... everyone was just a mortal getting crushed under the furious will of actual gods.
And the worst part...
They weren’t even focused on everyone else.
Their eyes locked straight onto Darian. Cold. Ruthless.
Darian just stared back at them, completely unfazed. But, he totally felt like that was the decisive moment.
"Oh... so you realized you fucking lost, and now you’re here trying to negotiate like some pathetic regretful bitch?" Darian spat coldly.
