Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Krabol Attack

Meggie took out a red vial and held it tightly in her hand. It was a type of poison she had concocted herself.

Berry took an axe and held it with both hands while his wife and daughter in law stood behind him.

As the footsteps and scent of blood grew slower Berry relaxed, " It’s okay, that’s my son."

He ran to the door and opened it and in came a bloodied orc, one of his tusks was broken.

His pinkish skin had turned blood red and was covered in wounds. Orcs ran on all fours so when he got inside the house he stood up.

Then he staggered forward and his father caught him. His wife and mother also ran to him.

Meggie told Adrian to fetch her bag, he ran upstairs as fast as the wind and came back in less than five seconds.

He gave her the leather bag and she took out multiple vials of potions. As an alchemist witch, making potions was her speciality.

They placed the orc man down and Meggie sprinkled the potions on his body then started chanting.

His body sizzled and steam rose to the air, the orc squealed like a pig but his family held him down.

Adrian watched his wounds heal at a visible speed and before long they had closed completely.

He fainted and they sat around him and waited impatiently. Finally he woke and the first thing he did was scream.

His wife ran to him and hugged him telling him it was okay, he is safe now. He finally relaxed.

Just as Berry was about to ask what had happened, Adrain caught multiple scents through the air.

The others watched him walk towards the door and he stood in front of it looking into the distance.

There were no street light in the farm and so the night sky was very dark. None of them had as good an eyesight as he did.

Orcs had incredible sense smell, not at his level but very good but their hearing and eyesight was barely above that of humans.

They too caught the scents and knew something was coming but Adrian could already see them.

A pack of semi humanoid hyena looking creatures running towards the farm house in a frenzy. They stopped a few metres In front of the house.

The largest of them and the obvious leader of the pack started pacing left to right while growling.

" Krabol." Berry whispered with disgust, Krabol were a race of Fayera but in their true form they weren’t different from a Gadra.

Once they transformed they lose all sense of rationality but to fair this was not a trait unique to them.

A lot of Fayera were like that, their instincts were so strong they take over once they took their true form.

In fact orcs weren’t too different either, while they don’t entirely lose their rationality, they do get dumber.

Of course Berry was an exception but that was because of his years of training. He was also certain it was the reason his son ran back here endangering his wife and unborn child.

With his life in danger he must’ve taken his true form and his intelligence dropped, he stopped thinking beyond wanting to be safe and so he naturally ran back where he felt the safest.

Berry couldn’t blame him for that, it was a curse of their people. Adrain stood next to him.

" Want me to take care of them?" He asked but Berry shook his head.

" What kind of man would have a child fight his battles?" Adrian stood back and said nothing more.

He could hear the pride in Berry’s voice, he who shattered the limit of their race and learnt to be a powerful warrior.

" Pagu, bring my axe." Pagu was Berry’s son, even though he was still exhausted he ran upstairs.

When he came back down he was carrying a giant battle axe that was stained with blood. This was a weapon of their family passed down for generations.

Berry was not the first of his kind to break the limit. The first was over a thousand years ago, the first king of the orcs was born back then.

The first orc to rush into battle and bath in the blood of his enemies. Of course Berry couldn’t compare to that figure.

It is believed the king even reached level 3 in his lifetime, something considered impossible for their race.

Of course in the past 1 000 years there had been a few orcs who had reached level 2, Berry couldn’t even compare to those.

In fact there was one such orc in the current era and even stranger, it was a female orc, female orcs were known to be physically weaker than males.

She was the first to break the limit of her biology thus making her almost as impressive as the first king.

And that orc, was Berry’s own older sister, the ruler of all orcs in this era. While Berry couldn’t compare to those monsters, he was anything but weak.

Seeing the wild dogs who had dared to harm his son, he felt his blood boil with rage and he activated it.

His trump card, a technique even his sister was yet to master, not that she needed to with her power.

His esper blazed out and a red aura surrounded his body. Seeing this, Pagu clenched his fist.

It was at this moment that he hated his own weakness. Berry took a step forward, his body transformed.

He grew to over 2.7 metres, his arms turned into thick logs of muscles and fat and his head became that of a pig.

Two sharp tusks came out of his lower jaw and pointed to the sky. Berry gripped his battle axe with both hands.

Meggie smiled, " To think the old man mastered the king’s aura." That drew Adrian’s attention.

" King’s aura? I think I can use that too." This made Meggie sigh, Adrain was becoming more and more ridiculous, even by her standards.

The Krabol on the other hand didn’t pay attention to Berry, their attention was fully on Adrain.

He noticed that too but said nothing, it wasn’t until Berry took the first swing that they paid him any attention.

But by then, it was already too late.
