Chapter 37: Chapter 37: Adrian Vs The Demon

Adrain and Meggie had watched everything, Meggie had thought the church would bring the head priest.

He was the only level 2 mage from the church in this city but instead they brought 20 level one monks and a normal priest to deal with a level 2 demon.

Not even mentioning that priest had so many sins and guilt he was basically a walking feast for the demon.

Not they had to deal with a stronger demon because the priest fed it. Meggie couldn’t help but sigh.

She also knew the organisation would not be coming, like the church they only had one level 2 Espara and he was the director of this branch.

He had a lot to deal with like the unruly vampires and a lot of other Feyara that were hiding inside the city.

So dealing with this demon was left entirely up to them but the truth was she was scared. She knew she wasn’t strong enough so it would most be left to Adrain.

That’s what terrified her the most, she didn’t really know how powerful he was but she didn’t want him to risk his life.

Unfortunately she couldn’t stop that child, he was adamant about dealing with this demon.

He claimed he wanted to question the demon about the whereabouts of his sister but she could see through him.

In truth he was just worried about this family, so she decided to help because she knew he would do it even without her.

And now they were here facing the demon, she turned to the family. " Go outside." They tried but the door was locked.

She cast a spell but nothing happened then she took out a grimoire and searched through its pages.

Seeing this the demon acted and put her in an illusion. She saw it, the death of Margaret and she stood and watched unable to help.

This was her guilt that she was unable to help Margaret but while the demon was stronger than she was, Meggie was not slouch either.

She cast a spell and removed the demons Influence on her mind then continued searching through the grimoire.

Adrian was different, the moment the demon acted on him he fought back, he used his telekinesis to enter the demons mind.

However he realised how strong the demon wasz he couldn’t influence its mind no matter how hard he tried.

He sighed and thought it was a pity or he would’ve given it the worst dreams of its life. If others heard this they would curse him to kingdom come.

He as a newborn Fayera had the power to resist a level 2 old demon and he was complaining about not being able to influence its mind instead.

Adrian started transforming, he knew all of his abilities would be useless against demons.

They were nigh unkillable, it was actually one of the reasons why he was also so hard to kill, he had a bit of demon blood.

But that also brought another weakness, he couldn’t enter a personal property without invitation.

Hotels and stuff did not count but a house was different. The only reason he was able to enter this house was because the family was yet to sign the deed.

As such this house did not really belong to anybody and it counted as public property for now.

He turned his attention to the demon, just because others couldn’t kill them didn’t mean he couldn’t either.

However to have poison potent enough to kill a demon he would need to use his true wood form but what would be dangerous for everybody.

Adrain raised his hand and flames ignited above them, he was about to attack when Meggie hit him on the head.

" Are you trying to burn down the house?" She reprimanded him and he cancelled his ability.

Adrain looked through his abilities and couldn’t think of a single one that could be effective against this demon.

The only things that might harm it are his claws and his poison. While his claws couldn’t kill a demon, they could suppress its power. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

His hair and eyes turned completely silver and his claws came out like a cat. He lunged but the demon disappeared.

It appeared a dozen metres away and tried to effect his mind again but his strong will shrugged off its effect.

Its body turned into black fog and covered the entire houses, even with his heightened eyesight he couldn’t see anything.

Before he could react he found himself flying across the room and hit the wall causing it to crack.

He grunted and stood up but an invisible force grabbed him and pulled him forward. A shadow flickered and the demon appeared Infront of his face.

It was holding him up with telekinesis, the demon opened its massive mouth and screeched at him.

He could tell it was trying to scare him but he felt no fear. He tried to use his own telekinesis to resist.

Unfortunately he was outclassed by a large margin so he swung his claws and it disappeared like smoke.

He landed on the floor and searched around but the black mist inside the entire house made it hard for him to see.

He tried a few ocular abilities in his arsenal but not one of them could allow him to see through this mist.

So he stopped trying to rely on his eyes and used his other senses. Smell being the strongest one he had.

He caught the demons scent but it was faint, the most was hiding even its scent from him, he still caught it and it was heading for Meggie and that family.

Adrian pounced in that direction at his fastest speed. He heard the demon scream and before he could react, BOOOOM, he bounced off a hard wall and flew back across the room.

" Adrain is that you?" He heard Meggie’s voice.

" Yeah that was me." He replied while running his head, whatever he hit was really hot and hard.

" Sorry about that, I cast a protection circle so the demon can’t get in, don’t worry about us."

" Adrain help, help me please." Another Meggie sounded from the other side then her voice was followed by the screams of the entire family.

" Adrian that isn’t me, that’s the demon, don’t be fooled." The first Meggie shouted but Adrian paused because he didn’t know what to believe.

Knowing Meggie, she would never ask him for help with something that could pose a threat to him.

But he could smell the demon in the direction of the other Meggie. Now he didn’t know what to trust.

His knowledge of Meggie or his own sense of smell.
