Demon Slayer: Rise of The First Werewolf-Chapter 38: Transformation
Adrain growled and pounced, he ignored his own sense of smell and trusted Meggie. He made the right call.
His body pierced through the black fog and came face to face with the demon but before he could attack a heavy force landed on his chest.
It was so powerful it shattered his rib cage, his bones pierced through his organs and he coughed up blood.
He shot back like a meteor and hit the wall on the other side of the room. At the speed he was thrown at he had expected to go through the wall.
But it was harder than he had expected and he bounced off it instead.
" You’re okay?" Meggie shouted, Adrain stood up and spit the blood in his mouth, his wounds started healing.
" Yeah I’m fine." He rotated his shoulders and his bones cracked them a low growl echoed through the fog.
He was using echo location to try and locate the demon but it was as if it did not exist at all.
He couldn’t find it anywhere inside the house so he waited for it to attack him first and it did.
A terrifying face pierced through the fog and roared to his face, he punched but hit empty air.
Then he suddenly found himself in a dark forest surrounded by thick fog. He looked around but saw nobody.
He retreated until his back hit a tree, he turned and what he saw made him angry. Hanging on the tree was his mother.
Her eyes and heart were gouged out but he could still feel her breath. The fog cleared and more trees appeared.
On them were his family, Meggie and Annie were included as well. Adrian felt his breath rise.
His chest heaved with rage and he growled like a beast. He tried to use his telepathy to break free to no avail.
This illusion was stronger than the others, before he could react something hit him and sent him flying across the forest.
He rolled on the ground and jumped to his knees in a split second. He looked around but saw nobody.
He tried to use his senses to no avail, he couldn’t detect whatever had hit him, then it hit him again.
A wave of pain assaulted his senses, his bones broke and pierced his organs. He coughed up blood and fell on the ground dozens of metres away.
He was getting frustrated, being played around with like this was getting on his nerves.
He felt himself lose control of himself and his body started changing then he stopped himself and took a deep breath.
He knew his body was still inside the house, if transforming here would also transform his real body then that would be bad.
It would put Meggie and that entire family in danger so he kept himself in check but this demon was getting to him.
Outside, the others couldn’t see the demon or Adrian but they could hear their fight. The family was shaking with fear.
Especially Eve, her ability to sense energies made her extremely sensitive to this situation.
To her, she felt like she was standing next to two bonfires that were so close to her they could burn her if she moved less than an inch.
It was a terrifying experience then she felt one of those bonfires grow before it went back to normal.
However that brief moment made her heart shake with fear as she felt the hand of death grip her heart.
Meggie had also felt Adrian was about to transform before he went back to normal, this made her sigh.
She had never seen his true werewolf form but from what he told her, she wouldn’t want to either.
She flipped through the pages looking for a spell to use then she found it. An old binding spell.
The first chant is to weaken the target then followed by another chant to bind them to an item with certain runes drawn on it.
Meggie had already practiced this spell she had only lost it because the grimoire was too huge.
From the outside it looked like a normal book but it had nearly a million pages, most didn’t even have spells.
They explained some magical items and beings and how to deal with them. Which spell to use but not the chant itself.
Worse part was that it could not be tempered with, she couldn’t fold the pages nor could she rip a page out.
Anything place within the book would be sucked inside and turned into a drawing, it was one of the reasons grimoires can survive for so long.
While she was skimming through the spell one more time, the young boy Cane took a step forward.
A voice was whispering in his head drawing him in, by the time his family noticed he was already standing at the edge of the barrier.
" Cane, come back here sweetie." His mother called out and outstretched her hand to him.
" No." Meggie whispered and took action, she cast a spell to lock Cane’s movements but it was too late.
Cane kicked his foot across the ground and opened a hole through the circle of salt, the barrier around them crumbled.
Before they could react a hand came through the fog and dragged Cane out, his screams disappeared through the black fog.
Without a second thought his father ran after him leaving his daughter and wife behind. Meggie gritted her teeth.
She grabbed the two of them and dragged them to where she remembers the stairs were.
Fortunately her gamble was right, the fog was only on the first floor so they ran upstairs.
Her spell wasn’t ready yet, she still needed Adrain to buy her time but she knew he had it rough.
" Ding dong, ding dong." A voice echoed through the walls. Eve and her mother grabbed their mouths to stop their screams.
Meggie chanted a cloaking spell, she knew it wouldn’t work against a demon, especially a level 2 demon but she hoped it would at least buy them a few seconds.
" Francine sweetie, it’s me, open the door and let us in, We’re not gonna hurt you." Danny’s voice came in through the door.
Francine looked at Meggie then rushed to open the door, instead of her husband what appeared was the demon.
Before it could act something grabbed its shoulder and threw it across the room back to the first floor.
It was Adrain, he looked at Meggie, " Get them out." Meggie took them and ran downstairs.
They found Cane and Danny unconscious near the door and dragged them out with them.
The demon ran after them but bounced off an invisible wall. " Hexes are placed all around the house.
You’re stuck here with me." He grinned at the demon then his body started changing, silver hair grew all over his body and his height and muscles grew well.
A three metres tall creature appeared Infront of the demon. " AWOOOOOO." A loud howl pierced through the walls and windows and echoed across the entire city.
