Demonic Skeleton God-Chapter 40: Leaveing the Dungeon
Chapter 40: Leaveing the Dungeon
"Itai, I think you should learn the book Concealment of Death here. We don't know what it will be like outside, and I can't just march out there with an entire army of skeletons. That would draw too much attention, and someone strong might notice us and destroy us," Flain reconsidered.
"I agree, good idea. But before that, we need to summon the king," Itai said.
He aimed his right hand—now adorned with the majestic gauntlet—at Zehren. Zehren's bones began to tremble, surrounded by black flames, but after a moment, the process halted.
"I guess even with the gauntlet, this will take a while," Itai said.
It took him 20 attempts to summon Zehren, which was a massive improvement compared to when he didn't have the gauntlet—back then, he couldn't summon him at all.
On the final attempt, Zehren's bones arranged themselves into the proper formation. He stood still, and suddenly, his bones began to thicken, his body growing so dense that he no longer looked like just a skeleton. He had become a Bone Guardian.
"He evolved into a Bone Guardian, so he's at Stage 2 now."
"Can you speak?" Itai asked, to which Zehren shook his head.
"At least you can perceive and understand me. The other skeletons don't even have awareness; they just follow commands like without a soul," Itai muttered.
Flain then tossed him the greatsword he had taken from the bandits. "I'm keeping your old sword. Here, take this one," he said.
"If he has awareness, then theoretically, he could command the other skeletons," Flain noted.
"Can you lead my skeletons?" Itai asked. Zehren nodded.
"Alright, then you'll be a general. But you still need a name," Itai murmured.
'His name was Zehren,' Aran informed Flain in his mind.
"Aran says his name was Zehren," Flain said.
"Very well, your name is Zehren," Itai declared.
After that, Itai pulled out the book and started studying. Meanwhile, something had been bothering Flain since his conversation with Nexosaron, and now he decided to ask the system about it.

'Stage 1 skills are meant for Stage 1 beings. So does that mean my Fire Ball and Swiftlash aren't worth using?' Flain asked.
[Tip: When any of your skills reach Level 10 and do not have a maximum stage, they can evolve—something beings without a system cannot do. Stage 1 skills can still be used against Stage 2 beings because the difference between skills that are only one stage apart isn't that big. However, when the gap reaches two stages, such as between Stage 1 and Stage 3, the difference becomes much more significant. Beings without a system cannot accurately determine a skill's stage.]
After reading that, Flain was satisfied—this was acceptable.
Then, another rather important and fundamental question crossed Flain's mind.
Flain asked the question. 'How does one advance to the next stage? Nexosaron mentioned that when I move to the next stage, I will also evolve. Do I reach a higher stage through evolution or through power? What happens if I have enough power for the next stage but lack the required Evolution Shards?'
[Tip: Normal beings advance to the next stage through power, but you do so through evolution. If you do not have the required amount for evolution and have reached the maximum power for your current stage, leveling will become inaccessible until you acquire the necessary amount for evolution.]
Flain didn't like this very much, but there was nothing he could do about it.
He decided to test whether he could now use Zehren's black sword in a dual-wielding style. It still wasn't optimal, but it was already better than his current swords combined, as they looked like they were about to fall apart. Flain discarded one of his swords, tossing it to one of Itai's skeletons, and replaced it with the black sword.
Days passed as Flain and Aran continued hunting in the dungeon while Itai studied the spell.
Itai mastered it in six days, and in that time, Flain had accumulated 52,500 EXP, 5 Evolution Shards, and 4 Evolution Dusks.
Before leaving, Flain leveled up since he had enough EXP.
[Level 29 -> Level 30]
[Strength increased by 1, agility increased by 1, vitality increased by 1, intelligence increased by 1]
[You have gained 1 bonus point]
Flain allocated the bonus point to vitality.
[Vitality increased by 1]
"Let's get out of here," Itai said excitedly.
"But before that, let's test *Concealment of Death*. Learning it gave me quite a headache, so I hope it actually works," Itai muttered.
He extended his hand, releasing a black pressure wave that swept beneath every one of his undead.
Flain lost control over his body and instinctively began digging into the ground, just like all the undead. Within five seconds, they had all buried themselves, leaving only Itai standing.
Itai held his head, realizing he still didn't have full control over the spell and had accidentally concealed Flain as well. He cast another pressure wave, but this time much weaker.
From the ground, a hand clad in an iron gauntlet emerged, followed by another, and then an entire armored undead figure with a damaged green cloak covering its skull.
"Sorry, Flain, I didn't mean to. I guess I still don't have full control over it," Itai said apologetically.
"Hmh, that was a strange feeling... When I was underground, I lost consciousness," Flain muttered.
"Well, that doesn't matter. Let's just get out of here," Flain said.
Itai summoned three skeletons to carry three full bags of goods for sale, and the five of them set off toward the exit.

Lucas approached the generals, who were arm-wrestling while smoking.
"General, we're out of water supplies. Can I go fetch more?" Lucas asked.
"Go ahead. There should be some not far from here, a supply shipment. But you probably already know that," one of the generals replied.
A short while after Lucas left, a soldier approached the general. "Generals, the detector is showing five red dots. There are also some strange loud noises."
The generals shifted their attention away from their match...
