Chapter 373: Another Vanir

Ivar was kind of disappointed that he wouldn’t be able to fight against Tein. He wanted so badly to do it, that he would even ignore the orders of MMA if the said man appeared in front of him.

After that excitement and frustration that he felt after the battle, he could no longer think about fighting someone other than him. The other Vanirs would need to struggle a lot to impress him as much as Tein did.

That’s why he didn’t even flinch when he saw Leo, that giant bulked Vanir with his massive gauntlets, walking towards them.

He exuded the same oppressive energy as Tein did, but the Fenrir thought that the latter had something more behind his aura that made him outstand even from someone as strong as Leo.

After talking to Rurik, the Aesir knew exactly how powerful Leo was. There were a lot of reasons, but the fact that he was still alive and willing to fight them, even though Rurik just split him in two after a single punch, was enough reason to justify the power of that man.

"Hey, Casper..." Ivar said, glancing to the side where Casper was... but not the right one.

"I am here, you know?"

"Ah, got it." He cleaned his throat. "So, I wanted to say that it is better for you to just run away and leave me here to take care of this man. Let’s do it just as we planned before, ok?"

The White warrior bit his lips. He felt like being underestimated again, but he needed to be more logical than that.

’In truth, he is not belittling me. He is just trying to make things according to the plan. However, it still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth to let him fight against this Vanir alone. After all, he is the same Vanir who could withstand fight against Rurik and his healers, coming alive after a really powerful blow, even though Rurik was sure that he killed him...’

Casper was concerned. However, he made the plan precisely to avoid all worries, so he would be able to focus on his part.

"Ok..." He answered, reluctantly.

The soldier gave a step back while talking to Yanke in his mind.

’Yanke, I want you to call to all the other Aesirs. Tell them that the enemy appeared on 64th street. Ivar is holding him right now.’

[ No worries, Master. It will be done right now. ]

Casper sighed.

Although it was his plan, he didn’t want that the same scene repeated. Anyways, in order to prevent completely that this sort of thing happened, he needed to do it.

’Also, use teleportation. Now that we made a huge mess here and on the floors above, I am sure that they will send more troops to defend this part. A lot of cameras saw me here as well. It will be crucial for us to take advantage of it and continue our plan.’

[ Teleportation skill activated ]

[ Preparing to teleport ]

The messages appeared in front of his eyes and he waited for some seconds. A weak white light began to envelop his body.

He was sure that the enemies wouldn’t notice it so soon, nor have the speed to stop him, but that was not the case.

When the teleportation process was about to end and Ivar prepared himself to charge forward, something happened.

Leo suddenly stopped to walk, and instead charged forward with all his might.

Despite being heavy, and wearing heavy weapons, he still was able to shorten the distance quite quickly.

Casper got surprised when the hand of that giant appeared centimeters away from his face.

Ivar was the one who stopped his arm from keep going, holding it in the middle of the movement.

"So, you aren’t that weak, huh? Actually, you are pretty strong." Ivar commented.

Although the guy said it with such arrogance and disdain, his arm was still shaking by holding Leo’s arm.

Ivar pushed him away with all his strength before the Vanir could attack once again.

"I think that you will need to hurry up, Casper! If we start fighting right now, it will be difficult for you to teleport!" Ivar shouted raising his guard in order to defend himself if needed.

Casper got a bit shocked by the speed of that colossal figure, and for a second he didn’t move.

The teleportation got stuck because he lost his concentration.

Since now Yanke’s consciousness was attached to his, he also needed to focus to activate the skills and make them work.

Casper knew that he wouldn’t be able to teleport while being in there. Just by reading the mood, he knew that Leo wouldn’t hold on for any longer. He was prepared to charge in at any moment.

The White warrior began to run away from there.

He wasn’t as fast as before because the effects of his skill were lessening, but it was enough to get to a safer distance from those two.

’Ivar and Leo might have killed me if I only stood there all this time... I bet that they will make a huge mess.’

[ Ivar has the advantage of being swift and strong at the same time. He is also more intelligent regarding combat strategies. His only disadvantages are his eyes and ears, which is something that he can’t improve, anyway. In terms of power, he is stronger than Leo, but some variables turn this battle quite unpredictable. ]

Casper nodded to him. That was exactly what he was thinking.

’Anyway, let’s get going, Yanke. We will need to get to the floor of...’ Before Casper could say anything, his vision detected an enemy, and the sensors that Yanke activated told him that a harmful danger was coming right behind him.

Casper jumped to the side out of instinct, avoiding from a few millimeters a burst of flames.

’Oh, no...’ His face went pale. ’Another Vanir!’ He looked at the yellow eyes of Tein, who was flying above him with fire enveloping his body.
