Divine Emperor of Death-Chapter 2566: Registering
Davis and the others headed outside the island as it slightly opened a way outside, with him controlling the formation.
Instantly, a blasting blizzard entered, bringing an intense chill that tried to freeze them to death. Even Mingzhi and the others who were near the exit to send them off grabbed their arms and shivered as they tried to encase themselves with their energy in order to protect themselves.
Natalya and Tanya, who were Davis, also shivered. It was like they came to experience what chillness is for the first time in their lives, unable to believe that they could experience such freezing cold without even being near the source.
But at this moment, Davis's soul force sprung into action, causing them to feel some warmth surrounding them. He used light energy to envelop them, and it was like receiving coal as a gift in winter, causing them to smile as they knew that they could rely on him.
They looked at his back with admiration as they sensed his prowess at this moment. It was vague due to the extremity of the gap and how minuscule his energy signature was when he used it, but they could generalize that his prowess reached the Immortal King Stage and perhaps even surpassed it.
Quickly, they were pulled along with him inside the light energy barrier he created, which led them outside the island.
At the same time Davis and his group left, Yotan used the auxiliary formation core in her hands and closed the way outside.
Suddenly, Yotan couldn't help but feel someone elbowing her waist. She quickly turned to look around, smiling.
"What is it, Mistress Bylai?"
Bylai raised her hand above her ear as she brushed her golden hair, her side face looking beautifully artistic as though sculpted by a master sculptor.
"Say... how long are you going to keep this up?"
"What do you mean?" Yotan blinked, causing Bylai to put her hand down and sigh lightly.
"Don't act dumb. I was ignoring you since I thought you could do it by yourself, but you never even tried to make a move or even give a few hints. Have you really given up?"
Once Bylai mentioned it quite openly, Yotan glanced around slightly, ensuring that everyone else left before she opened her mouth.
"I-It's complicated..."
"How so?"
Bylai raised her brows in doubt. However, Yotan raised her hand and looked at the formation core she held in her hands with a complex gaze.
"Legion Master doesn't look at me in the same way he looks at you all, and I have many duties to fulfill. He trusts me as the Legion Commander. Otherwise, I wouldn't be given this auxiliary formation core. How can I betray his excellency's expectations?"
"Don't be stupid. Do you think Davis gave you this just because you're his Legion Commander? Other than Evelynn, Isabella, and Shirley, the only one who has this key is you. Of course, it has to do with the fact that you're the Legion Commander, but it is also because he knows that you love him and are devoted to him that he is convinced that you most likely wouldn't betray him."
"Otherwise, a cautious person like him would never give the residence key to someone who just has the position called Legion Commander. After all, if such a person betrayed us and let in the dangerous assassins, we're all dead."
"...!"
Yotan felt like a lightning bolt had fallen on her as she shuddered. Seeing this reaction, Bylai couldn't help but smirk lightly.
"But... but I'm in a position to die protecting you all..."
Bylai shook her head, thinking about when exactly it was that Davis put Yotan in a dangerous situation.
"I said what I wanted to say. The way I see it, you're suffering silently, aching for his praise day and night. Only, the way you're going about wanting it is wrong, in my honest opinion. Well then, I'll see you later."
She waved her hand and left, leaving a confused and mellow Yotan who had her conviction slightly crushed for the first time ever since she became a Legion Commander. She gazed at Bylai's back, feeling lost but some time later, she eventually came out of her reverie and shook her head.
Freezing cold blades occasionally flew past mountains and split them in two after grinding at them for many hours. There were countless scars on the land and the skies, adorned with glaciers forming below and icicles forming from above. Even the floating islands didn't seem necessarily safe as some of them were encased in complete ice other than the mansions themselves.
Davis and the others made their way past the horrible and hazardous blizzard. The ice storm practically made the visibility extremely less that Natalya and Tanya could only see a hundred meters within their range. They knew even their energies couldn't go past a few meters under this extreme ice storm.
As for Davis, he could see and sense far more, but even he had trouble navigating the skies as he had to rely purely on his memory of nearby floating islands to make his way to the destination. He wondered if there would be an assassination attempt as it was the right window of opportunity for anyone who wanted to kill him, but with Nadia together with him, he wasn't worried.
Ellia and the others followed him without concern, fully trusting him.
Nonetheless, he knew he was on the correct path to his destination.
However, he wasn't going to Mercurial Blitz Ice Valley. He didn't know where it even was and would have to find it from someone or something else.
Still, before heading to the Mercurial Blitz Ice Valley, Davis headed to another island within the Aurora Cloud Gate first. It wasn't the mission distribution island, either. It was for later. Right now, he was heading to the Alliance Island, where a disciple can register or join an alliance.
Naturally, he was going to create an alliance for himself, not because he fancied being in a group but because he wanted his people to be able to pool contribution points without much loss. This way, they could all benefit sooner or later.
Soon, they arrived at the Alliance Island, where Davis had his eyes on for a long time.
As soon as they stepped on the island, they were welcomed by a warm atmosphere, one that even soothed their hearts and even their souls. Instantly, that claustrophobic feeling left their minds, leaving them feeling good as they looked at the vast simulated skies.
"You undisciplined disciples. Didn't the sect announce for you all to seclu-"
Halfway through some chiding, a middle-aged man blinked and finally recognized that purple-robed, blonde-haired, and sapphire-eyed man that everyone was talking about. He had thought that they would be all injured but looking at them be safe without a single sign of unhealthiness, he couldn't help but believe what he saw.
"I want to register an alliance."
Davis uttered as he stared back at the middle-aged man, causing the latter to nod his head and silently bring the infamous Divergent to the Registration Hall.
"It's pretty empty, huh..."
Ellia off-handedly commented as she looked around.
"Due to the blizzard, most immortals stayed inside their rooms or didn't return to the Aurora Cloud Gate's headquarters. Instead, we're even receiving complaints that they're acting like the overlords in various branches."
"Hehe~ Were they disciplined accordingly?"
"..."
The middle-aged man didn't expect Ellia to laugh at his joke. He slightly glimpsed at Davis's reaction, and seeing that he wasn't offended as he maintained a calm expression, he continued.
"Not really. This is a disastrous situation, so the other branches have been told to be accommodating, but most wrongdoers have been dealt with. Even the ones in status aren't forgiven easily. For example, the true disciple ranked hundred and thirteenth, named Kal Yale, has been arrested for trying to spike a female outer disciple in the northern branch. He's facing the death penalty in a month's time unless that mere outer disciple comes forward to forgive him."
"I see."
Ellia kept nodding her head as she was astonished as it was different from what she thought, while Davis also felt that the sect was not bad. Their law enforcement was truly righteous and upstanding, almost devoid of any corruption he could see or manage to point out.
Soon, they arrived in front of the registration hall that was nine stories high.
They registered themselves on the first floor after deciding on a name that Davis liked before they added all their names to it.
Soon enough, they left the island under that middle-aged man's gaze that shook because he saw Davis's light energy envelop them before they disappeared in the blizzard.
"To traverse in this blizzard... you need to be an Immortal King... right?"
He felt strange, thinking of some conspiracy theories as he held his head. After all, a disciple who just ascended couldn't possibly reach the Immortal King Stage in a few months! Even a fabled reincarnator was incapable of that!
