Divine Emperor of Death-Chapter 2568: To the Mercurial Blitz Ice Valley
Heavy winds soared throughout the skies. Filled with ice energy, they froze everything in their path and, sometimes, even turned mountains into glaciers and peaks and cliffs into deadly spiky icicles trap. Everything one could see around if their gaze was able to see past the low visibility atmosphere, one would only be able to see an endless ice world.
At this moment, a thirty-meter-long flying boat flew into a giant valley that headed deep into a basin.
Half a day later, Davis's group arrived at the Mercurial Blitz Ice Valley. There were many ice mountains situated in the basin.
*Bzzz!~*
The moment the flying boat entered the valley, an enormous icy wave smashed against it, causing it to rumble and shudder. It even started going downhill as they felt their bodies turn weightless, but everyone instantly used their energy to keep themselves stuck to the surface.
Inside, Davis had his arms folded as he waited for the eventual demise that he was going to face. The others weren't worried because they believed him to a fault, but he wondered when his fate was going to strike him and send him into a spiral of death, but fortunately, such a thing didn't happen, and the flying boat safely landed.
It didn't even crash land, making him know that the flying boat wasn't damaged.
Just as he wondered why the sky sailor would do a stunt like this, the shutter of the flying boat opened, causing him to instantly envelop everyone with his energy. His brows narrowed, thinking someone was already trying to kill them all.
However, he couldn't help but blink as there was no blizzard flying into the flying boat to freeze them to death.
The atmosphere was still cool and freezing, but it wasn't something a Late Stage Immortal would be unable to endure. The flow of the heavy winds wasn't there, but instead, it was soft and fleeting, as though there were truly no winds.
"This is..."
Natalya possessed a similar doubt as him, "The basin isn't affected by the icy winds?"
She asked, causing Davis to nod lightly in agreement before he stepped out of the flying boat.
Instantly, a vast icy terrain entered his view. All flora and fauna were frozen while even the magical beasts that were assumably living here wildly were frozen to death. Even though Davis found signs of many undulations of having roamed this region, their carcasses weren't one bit touched.
However, Davis and everyone else who stepped out of the flying boat were shocked beyond compare as they saw a giant sinkhole at the center but what was even more ridiculous was there was an icy-blue ray of light that surged above from the eye of the sinkhole and spread into all directions, flowing like clouds in the skies.
"Woah..."
Davis was genuinely breath taken by this colorful sight while the others appeared the same.
"The surging wind pressure has formed an actual ocean current...? No, an air tunnel...? It's no wonder there's no blizzard here."
Tanya couldn't help but nod in understanding as she realized that the current trapped the winds from devastating the surroundings. She almost mistook the air current for the blue ocean current that exists in the seas.
"Indeed." Davis nodded, "I thought I would have to protect you all until we got to this sinkhole where many tunnels exist, where icy winds don't appear, but it seems like you're all free to roam here."
He had heard a bit about the Mercurial Blitz Ice Valley when he had gone to the Treasury Island and hence, decided to bring Natalya and the others. Not only was it a perfect training spot for them, but it was also bound to have some treasures for them if he was not wrong about the environment being a treasure valley already for ice cultivators.
"The environment may not pose a threat, but the people who want to capture us and take advantage of you are plenty. We'll try not to get beguiled by delicious resources and wander off somewhere."
Natalya giggled, causing Davis to shake his head as they hovered and flew to the sinkhole.
"Threelotus, Lightsky, and Starlily. Keep your eyes open and protect Tia at all costs. Your secondary objective is to look out for the others and keep me informed through whatever means necessary if I ever leave the group."
"Yes~"
A chorus of responses came from three different people at the same time.
Threelotus appeared quite excited as her eyes gleamed with expectation for an adventure. On the other hand, Lightsky either had his head lowered or looked elsewhere altogether, afraid that he might offend the Legion Master as he was the only man in the group other than the Legion Master himself.
He felt slightly uncomfortable, wondering if he would be gotten rid of if he even looked at the Legion Master's women for two seconds. On top of that, when he was ordered to guard Tia with his life, the latter instantly cast a cautious gaze at him, making him inwardly cry.
If he offended this young woman who was closely related to the Legion Master, he was still going to get killed but wishing for the best, he remained hopeful and optimistic about the future as the Legion Master hadn't been bad to them a single time.
On the other hand, Starlily was quite composed. Although her eyes initially sparkled when she looked at the entrancing scenery of the icy winds surging through the skies and sporadically spreading everywhere like a space phenomenon, she was now calmly surveying the surroundings.
However, there was one thing similar in all their eyes as they were intensely curious about their Legion Master. They watched his back leading into the eye of the sinkhole, whereupon they were instantly hit with an intense freezing atmosphere.
This was the location where Immortal Kings weren't allowed to enter as the sinkhole's rising pressure would try to crush them beyond repair.
It almost froze them into inactivity, but Davis's light energy once again enveloped them, protecting them from turning into ice statues. It helped them traverse that layer and enter the sinkhole, the icy pit where they saw numerous ice-glazed tunnels that appeared like mirrors leading into different realities.
However, their eyes couldn't help but fall on a group that appeared quite bulky and menacing as they stared at them.
"We've been waiting for you, Emperor of Death."
Davis couldn't help but narrow his eyes at the person welcoming him. He recognized him as Slor Rocksunder, ranked thirteenth in the Core Disciple Rankings of Immortal Stage disciples.
However...
"You've all been silent all this time. Has the Earth Dragon Clan finally decided to make their move?"
Davis smiled as he chuckled, abruptly appearing before them in a blitz as he caused their eyes to widen in alarm!
