*Clack~* *Clack~* *Clack~*

The sound of water dripping from the cave ceiling could be heard, along with a pair of footsteps echoing in rhythm.

Davis entered the secret entrance and looked around, noticing the crystal appearance of the vast cave, which gave a luminescent and mirror-like feeling as though he was present in multiple worlds. Nonetheless, through a glimmer of a moving silhouette in one of those many crystals, he spotted a silver-robed woman making her way to the front.

He looked ahead of her and saw a vague statue amidst the foggy atmosphere. If he wasn't wrong, he knew it was the statue Tia talked about. The inheritance was likely hidden there. However, he frowned, wondering why this silver-robed woman was here, and Tia had no idea about her.

Still, he continued following her but as soon as he stepped onto a particular location, his surroundings lit up in an icy light, gradually slowing down things and even the airflow around him. Davis felt things get heavier, causing him to instantly understand that this was the power of yin.

It was as though he was caught in a spiral force that acted in an opposite way against him while biding him in threads. Not only did it hold a persuasive force, but it was utterly powerful for its level.

'A spirit formation using the icy environment... not bad...'

Just as Davis smiled as he came to know that this silver-robed woman was powerful in Soul Forging Cultivation, wanting to break it, the silver-robed woman who was in the distance abruptly stopped and disappeared. She suddenly reappeared before him like a specter, holding her fingers as though grasping the holds on the spirit formation.

"From where did you obtain the Forsaken Yin Lotus Manual?"

"Mhm." Davis pursed his lips, "That's not a warm welcome. Are you not going to release me?"

The silver-robed woman's brows squinted, "Answer me first."

Davis couldn't help but smile. He wondered if she actually thought she had him in his grasp, but he decided to play along, his lips curling into a wry smile.

"I got that knowledge from a book, and now it doesn't have a physical body anymore, so I can't provide its source to you."

"Meaning that it was in the form of a jade crystal that gives access only a single time?"

"You could say that. Why do you ask?"

The silver-robed woman went silent as she stared at him. It was unknown what she was thinking, but after two seconds, her mouth behind the veil moved.

"The Forsaken Yin Lotus Sect has only sent two immortal masters here, and two of them were already found, so for one of your women who came from the sealed world to practice the Forsaken Yin Lotus Manual, I find it a bit... strange? I can only think you were the reason for it because you are a Divergent who rattles the destinies of many."

The silver-robed woman seemed unsure, but Davis's heart shook. One of their inheritors might actually be Fallen Heaven's previous possessor if he was right. He couldn't help but want to gain more information from her.

"I respect the hustle to be indifferent to everything as not many people can forget and move on- no, this isn't the level of forgetting and moving on but totally ignoring it as though it doesn't exist. Can I know what your immortal inheritors' names were or at least their titles?"

"Their titles are Lone Lotus Empress and Blind Lotus Empress."

"Lone and Blind...?" Davis blinked but inwardly, he was asking Fallen Heaven if it remembered them.

"Blind Lotus..." Fallen Heaven's hoarse voice echoed inside his soul sea, yet audible only to him, "I think I might have come across such a name."

"Really?"

"I'm not sure. I didn't bother with names or titles but searched for the knowledge regarding the mysteries of the world and its laws, after all."

"..." Davis had the urge to say people were also mysteries, but with this kind of reply, he even lost the urge to retort and continued asking her questions.

"Did Blind Lotus Empress die of mysterious circumstances?"

"How did you know?"

The silver-robed woman's pupils dilated sharply.

"..." Davis blinked. It was just a guess since Fallen Heaven was involved, but he couldn't obviously mention it, causing him to shake his head.

"I don't know. She's blind, so how would she know where she died, much less you all or me, who have no way of tracking an Immortal Emp-"

"Courting death!"

*Whoooz!~*

Yin energy burst out from the silver-robed woman as she displayed aggression, causing Davis to raise his hands.

"Aiya, you claim to be indifferent, but you're angry with them?"

"No one can insult our ancestors. If not, you know something behind the mysterious death of one of our immortal inheritors, don't you? Spit it out..."

'Have I gotten myself into some deep historic trouble...?' Davis blinked, "Excuse me, don't you know I just came out of a sealed space? How am I supposed to know such mysteries?"

"Then tell me why you people would have the Forsaken Yin Lotus Manual? Where did you find it? Did it also have records pertaining to the mysterious circumstances of my ancestor's death?"

"I don't know."

The silver-robed woman's eyes flashed at Davis's words, "Then you're not leaving from here."

"Miss," Davis couldn't help but chuckle lightly, "I just did something that I didn't like doing, so don't make me do it again. Obediently remove the spirit formation you cast, or else, I'll-"

However, he suddenly stopped. The next moment, energies whistled behind him as they transformed into a sword and lotus as they shot past him.

*Whiz!~*

The air whistled under the onslaught of two ice energies simultaneously hurling toward the silver-robed man.

Her dark eyes flashed with an icy light as she spread her hands, causing her immortal might to surge. Dark blue yin energy surged from her and formed a gaseous veil before her.

Just as the icy sword and the icy lotus entered this gaseous veil, they abruptly began to slow down as though time was being stopped inside, causing Natalya and Tanya to raise their brows in shock.

However, as ice cultivators, they knew that this was the work of the subduing nature of the yin, and Natalya knew the most as it was a direct representation of the Forsaken Yin Lotus, which distances itself from all that comes it's way.

Nonetheless, Natalya's brows squinted at this moment as she clenched her fist, "Tanya!"

"Alright!"

*Boom!~*

The yin lotus exploded on the yin mist, but it sent Tanya's icy sword flying upon the impact. It broke through the confines of the subduing yin and shot toward the silver-robed woman in blinding speed, causing the latter to become shocked before she moved away.

Her hurried figure was rather graceful as she easily dodged the piercing icy sword, but that moment of reprieve was all Natalya and Tanya needed to barrage her as the silver-robed woman suddenly sensed an array of icy swords and lotuses surrounding her.

However, she was just as fast, quickly summoning her yin energy to surmount a thick and muddy defense that would be extremely difficult to penetrate.

"Stop."

However, a single word caused Natalya and Tanya to come to a stop as they held their hands in place, the icy swords and lotuses just inches away from passing through the silver-robed woman's yin fog. The next moment, they heard Davis speak again.

"Miss unnamed, I'll tell you one last time. Release me of your own volition or face the consequences."

The silver-robed woman's brows squinted heavily. Looking around, she saw that she was surrounded as though she was a cornered rabbit.
