Divine Emperor of Death-Chapter 3592 City of Cherryweave Blossoms
[Welcome to the City of Cherryweave Blossoms]
Davis arrived before the city gates as he took a deep breath, inhaling the pleasant smell of the city that made him feel like he was surrounded by flowers.
His gaze panned as he looked at its skyline adorned with towering red palaces, their roofs adorned with intricate carvings and golden inscriptions that shimmered in the sunlight. Surrounding these structures were cherry blossom trees, their pink petals swirling in the breeze.
They also line the streets and pathways, filling the air with a sweet and enchanting fragrance that spreads all the way outside the city, even enchanting the outskirts.
He stood in the queue like a normal person trying to enter the city. The queue didn't seem to be long as the process was taken care of fast and within three minutes, he was already standing before a guard who looked at him with narrowed eyes.
His pupils focused on Davis by the second before his eyes suddenly went wide.
"Pfft~ Ahahaha~"
"Brothers, look at this… another impersonator of the Divine Emperor of Death. Ahahaha~"
That guard burst out laughing, and hearing his laughter, a few more guards appeared beside him and measured Davis, their expressions amused.
"I must say, he looks exactly like the person." One guard suppressed his laughter.
Another guard strode forward and placed a hand on Davis's shoulder.
"Young man, I understand wanting to catch the eye of our prized Celestial Fairy, but if you thought this kind of trick hasn't been tried out yet, you'd be very wrong."
"…"
Davis stared at the guard and then the hand on his shoulder before he returned his gaze and smiled.
"Guess I was found out."
The primary guard, who appeared to be the gatekeeper, suddenly stopped laughing and reached out a hand.
"Alright, pay the toll and go inside. We don't have all day to entertain you and your paltry tricks, although I must warn you not to go near the Cherryweave Family's Estate, or don't blame us for being ruthless."
Davis nodded before he paid the toll with a bit of Mid-Level Immortal Crystals.
Without any trouble, he actually managed to enter.
It made Davis wonder if the guards were careless and stupid or if this city allowed tourists to come and go as they pleased.
After all…
"Woah~ So many pink heads…"
Mira also popped out from his robe, appearing to enjoy the scenery of the beautiful landscape around her. She looked at excitedly at the breathtaking scenery.
As they wandered through the streets of the City of Cherryweave Blossoms, they encountered a vibrant array of flora, each more fantastical than the last. There were giant peony bushes as large as a person, cascading wisteria vines with blossoms that seemed to glow in a pink shade under the shadow of the vines and ethereal pink or red lotus ponds where vibrant flowers bloom gracefully atop the shimmering waters.
This appeared to be a city that was refined up to the utmost elegance that Davis stood at the plaza for five minutes straight, looking like a country bumpkin as he enjoyed the scenery, and so did Mira.
She even said she wanted to live here, so insisted on taking over the city, so Davis had to bonk her cute dragon head and put her back in his sleeves.
Nonetheless, as Mira said, the city was filled with people with the color of ripe peaches, others had vibrant strands of cherry-red, tied back with ornate silk ribbons adorned with silver or golden hair accessories, sometimes enunciating their status.
Their attire was equally magnificent, with flowing robes in shades of pink and crimson embroidered with intricate cherry patterns, which very much reminded him of the heavenly geniuses of the Cherryweave Family, especially Fairy Aila Cherryweave.
Davis, who was blond, actually attracted a lot of gazes on him.
He seemed to be fairly popular with the ladies, but after seeing him act like a bumpkin and possibly not the Divine Emperor of Death, they lost interest, going about their way.
And it went without saying Davis also eventually lost interest over the novelty and made his way to the Cherryweave Family's Estate.
After passing through many streets, Davis finally arrived before an array of mansions.
He didn't know how long and wide the buildings were populated, but he could tell that it covered more range than his entire city.
Standing before the main gate to the estate, Davis wondered how he should make his entrance.
Grand?
Lowkey?
A few seconds later, he decided both weren't worth his time and took out a messaging talisman.
"Fairy Aila, I'm standing in front of your estate's main gate. If you could come receive me, that would be better than me causing trouble."
He sent a message and waited for a reply.
"Huh, did this impostor just act like he called our Celestial Fairy?"
"Wanna go teach him a lesson?"
Two guards at the gates spoke, their manner utterly nonchalant that one could see that they were bored guarding gates that no one tried to intrude.
"Forget it. I'm exhausted after teaching these idiots a lesson many times. There's no end to them."
However, one of them uttered, which made both lose interest as they continued to guard the gates with their spears pointed toward the heavens.
Davis continued to wait calmly.
The only reason he hadn't entered the estate in a concealed manner was to not damage Fairy Aila Cherryweave's reputation.
'Well, she destroyed most of it already by sending so many letters to me publicly and admitting to having feelings for me…'
Davis inwardly sighed, feeling like he could only try not to make it worse. As a man, he wasn't worried about his image, or rather, because he was strong, he didn't need to bother about his image.
No one could point fingers at him or see their fingers go missing the next second.
"You there— if you don't have any valid purpose to be here, then leave. Don't waste our time."
The guard who thought of teaching Davis a lesson seemed to lose his patience with Davis, who still remained here even after they glared at him, trying to make him leave.
Davis ignored their words.
He knew responding would only escalate the situation, and as for Fairy Aila Cherryweave-
'Ah, there she is…'
Davis couldn't help but smile as he saw the petite beauty in the distance, her flawless pink-red robe swaying along with her movements as she quickly hovered towards him.
The guards harrumphed over Davis's smile, thinking that he was mocking them.
One of them had just moved when suddenly, a wave of fragrance hit their nostrils, causing their hearts to skip a beat.
A peerless beauty rushed past them from behind, causing them to stop in their tracks. Their jaws dropped as they saw their Celestial Fairy stand only a meter away from the purple-robed man as she stared at him, possibly looking at him with intense emotions.
"You finally came~"
Fairy Aila Cherryweave's voice was emotional, appearing like all the letters she wrote was worth it for this day to come by.
"Aila!"
"Young Mistress Aila!"
"Fairy Aila!"
The two guards were pushed aside as many Grand Elders shot towards her, standing beside her as they cautiously looked at Davis.
Even their Patriarch appeared, his expression looking solemn.
"Divine Emperor of Death…"
Had the day they feared finally come?
