Dragon King: Throne of Demons and Gods-Chapter 82: The Final Dive
Chapter 82: The Final Dive
The crater still sizzled with electric heat.
Bel stood in the center, cloaked in frost and flame, one sword wreathed in blue fire, the other in icy mist.
His body trembled slightly, not from fear, but from the sheer pressure trying to contain what burned within him.
[HP: 3,490 / 5,700][MP: 4,100 / 6,120][Stamina: 2,780 / 5,000]
He exhaled.
"Let’s burn... TO ASHES!"
His aura burst like a star imploding.
A storm of ice erupted into the sky, snow falling thick and fast. The clouds twisted, forming a vortex above them.
But the wind brought more than snow. The bird screeched, and lightning joined the dance.
Forks of energy sparked through the storm, turning the white flurry into a glowing tempest.
Bel stepped forward, then swung his fire blade upward.
The air ignited. A column of flame burst from the arc of his slash, stretching toward the sky like a wave made of pure heat. It swallowed part of the clouds.
Bel blinked.
...That was big.
He glanced at his mana [MP: 3,741/6,120].
Still full enough.
His smile widened.
"So that’s how it is..."
Everytime he swung, if he infused a huge amount of mana, the result would be destructive. He didn’t need to cast beams of energy to a lightning fast target.
He would just shape magic through motion. Blade and body, fire and ice.
He charged.
The bird shrieked, diving down like a comet.
Bel roared and leapt, both swords burning.
They clashed.
Lightning and flame exploded together. The sky went white.
Snow turned to steam, thunder roared.
Bel spun, swinging his frost blade sideways. An arc of ice shot out, striking the bird’s wing.
It barely dodged, but the ice nicked a few feathers.
It retaliated with a thunderclap, its talons slashing through the air.
Bel blocked, but the force sent him flying sideways.
He crashed into another floating island, right onto a bed of jagged spikes.
Crack!
His back arched in pain as the points scraped his scales. No blood, but he felt bruises burning like fire beneath his black coat.
"Hah... ow..." he muttered, blinking through the haze. "Still good."
The storm above grew worse. Snow and lightning rained together now. A new world born from their battle.
Bel stood slowly.
[HP: 2,880 / 5,700][MP: 3,520 / 6,120][Stamina: 2,450 / 5,000]
The air cracked as the bird shot toward him again, talons sparking.
Bel didn’t block, he welcomed it.
The creature slammed into him. The shock sent arcs of lightning up his spine, but he moved with the blow, twisting his body midair and swinging both blades into the bird’s chest.
Boom!
Fire and ice collided with feather and lightning. They tumbled through the sky, smashing through another landmass.
Chunks of stone and glowing ice rained below.
The bird shrieked and vanished into lightning again.
Bel dropped like a comet, slamming into the ground with an explosive impact.
Everything blurred.
A moment of silence.
Bel blinked. He could hear a laugh. Distant, muffled. He wasn’t sure where it came from, it was around, yet distant.
He tried to move, but his body responded before he asked, with a slash.
A giant wave of flame exploded from his sword. He hadn’t even meant to swing.
His breath came heavy.
He tried to think clearly, but it felt like he was sinking.
His mind was falling beneath the surface, like a shadow drowning in dark water.
And above the water, his body, his emotions, his excitement, fought like a monster, laughing like a maniac.
"... Is that... me?" he whispered inside.
At this moment, it felt like there were two Bel, both different, but something felt connected.
The more he was sinking, the more the Bel above felt alive. He could feel the growing excitement, how good it was to be there...
He closed his eyes... and outside, his eyes burned brighter.
Bel surged forward again.
The sky and land became one.
Firestorms erupted. Ice formed bridges midair only to shatter under lightning strikes. Thunder shook the dungeon. The bird and the dragon fought like elemental gods.
Their movements shaped the area.
Each clash shattered more of the floating realm. The dungeon’s structure cracked, the space itself groaning beneath the pressure of their battle.
Bel was tossed. He countered. He was burned. He burned back harder.
[HP: 2,320 / 5,700][MP: 2,400 / 6,120][Stamina: 1,800 / 5,000]
But his violence and madness kept increasing, he never slowed down.
The bird flapped, gathering lightning again.
Bel swung his frost blade upward.
Snow burst like a geyser, twisting into a cyclone.
It filled the air, thick and fast.
The bird screeched, flying faster, lightning bolts slamming into Bel.
But his aura burned stronger.
Ice cracked with each step. Fire tore through the wind.
He chased it.
He could see it now, every movement, every shift of feather, every flash of light.
Both danced in destruction.
An untouchable foe against an unkillable one.
What was left?
A battle of stamina.
And this very concept, sealed the outcome of this battle. Even monsters had limits.
A flash.
Bel’s blade grazed the bird.
A feather fell.
Then another.
The bird’s movement slowed.
The snowstorm thickened. Now, it wasn’t a false impression anymore, the bird was losing its stamina.
Bel leapt to push his advantage, but lightning swallowed him again.
The world turned white.
For several seconds, thunder striked the sky.
The bird hovered above.
Then turned.
It started to descend, eyeing the place where Bel had fallen.
But as it moved...
Shhk!
The abyssal blade pierced its back.
Bel was there, roasted, his breath hollow. His arms trembling.
The bird screamed, flailing, its feathers exploding with electricity.
But Bel held on.
He gritted his teeth, shaking the blade inside the wound.
Sparks lit his body, pain coursing through him. Still, he moved the sword.
Once.
Twice.
Again.
Each twitch. Each shake. Each time... a new aggravating the injury.
Until...
[Status Effect: Burn Inflicted]
The bird caught fire.
And not just any fire, but the abyssal fire.
Blue and permanent.
It shrieked and flew upward in panic.
Bel grinned through the pain. He reached with his free hand and grabbed a wing.
The bird panicked. Its altitude dropped.
They flew toward another landmass with threatening hosts.
Spikes. Dozens of black, jagged rocks reached like teeth.
The bird screeched.
Bel roared back.
He pulled.
Muscle tore. Feathers scattered.
Then...
RIP!
One wing tore off.
Bel and the bird spiraled down, driving straight into the spikes. freēnovelkiss.com
