Dungeon Overlord: Monster Girl Harem!-Chapter 109: Discipline and Training
The moment he called out.
Ifrit started complaining in his mind. Because she needed to gather mana and essence from the dungeon to form a body, Ifrit required lots of energy and would sleep most of the day, and it seemed he woke her up.
[Why are you shouting?!]
'I whispered...'
[I'll cut off your system access!]
'Beautiful fairy goddess Ifrit, please be benevolent to your future spouse.'
[Who is my spouse?!]
'Me of course? You said so yourself...'
[Ack!]
The sudden defeat and Leonhardt using the oath he made against her caused the origin of all fire to retract from the argument as she opened the special feature of a ranked dungeon where upgrades on current squares and purchased items appeared.
▼ Upgrades
- Training
- Monsters
- Traps
- Magic
- Weapons
- Armour
- Materials (HOT!)
Various types of upgrades formed over seven tabs, which applied to almost anything from weapons to trade goods and the materials formed in the dungeon. The materials tab seemed popular because there were ratings for each tab.
'What are these upvote things?'
[Ranked Dungeon Masters usually have meetings each month to decide the strongest or most popular type of spells and other things bought with Dungeon Points.]
'Cool... will I be joining them?'
[Yes, the world's first Chimera becoming a Ranked dungeon master. It's already got a few posts on the message board.]
Leonhardt didn't understand the finer details, and Ifrit scolded him for trying to click a post that said
[Hot Succubus Nudes! Click Here!]
All because it was a trap set for men like him.
If he clicked the link, it would take him to a page to input information.
That would then subscribe him to a decade-long plan, paying a certain amount of DP a month to pay for those Nude pictures.
"Damn but it's 80% off!"
[THE NORMAL PRICE IS 10000DP]
Ifrit scolded him again and started teaching him how this worked.
It seemed to be a Dungeon Master was a more sociable role than he realised.
Thus, Leonhardt gained a new thing he needed to study and focus on, but he discovered that the training and monster upgrade tabs were almost barren, with no upvotes.
"Why are they so annoying...?"
"Ah, Master, that's because most of the Dungeon Master's are demons." Zafira cut in while sitting on the edge of his throne. The scent of her body wafted close as the squished flesh of her thighs entered his view.
'Hot Succubus Nudes... Zafira is a succubus...'
"Master? Master, are you listening to me?"
Zafira tried to get his attention several times, but it seemed to fail.
Of course, there wasn't a chance she didn't notice his gaze directed at her thighs and buttocks, but that was something she wanted to enjoy. So she remained quiet and waited for him to finally snap out of his daydream.
"Zafira?"
"Hm? Yes Master?"
"I'm glad you were a succubus!"
"I see..."
The conversation ended before she started to tell him about the demons and once again about how they looked down on other races. There seemed to be some respect for the dragon race, but anything else earned their scorn.
"Do you remember, how I was when we first met?" Zafira showed a bitter smile and looked apologetic. He understood what she meant, disliking the dungeon and the master she would need to serve.
"I also thought that way back then... that's just how demons are brought up, but where were we? Ah!"
Then, it became clear why the upgrade tab for monsters was less important compared to the personal tab for Dungeon Masters or the Magic tab.
However, these facts also stirred up Leonhardt's curious nature.
"Then why is the training tab also empty?" He would think that a warrior race would love to grow stronger and use anything they could to do so. It made no sense from the knowledge in his mind from the human point of view.
'A weak human would definitely choose to train hard and buy strong, useful spells.'
Sadly, there weren't many purchases that could deal with his lifespan issue.
Because although it increased when he evolved.
When he exerted himself like against Devi, he lost 20 days of vitality.
"Demons are prideful Leonhardt. So, to the majority, the thought of crawling on the ground like insects is something humans and goblins do. Is beyond insane!"
Leonhardt nodded, thankful for her information and opened up the training tab to see if he could afford anything interesting.
He wondered what would be considered training.
[Weighted Clothes]
"These antique relics were used by a certain warrior race to improve their power levels at the most important moments..."
- 9001 DP
[Living Eye Patch]
"Constantly devours aura, mana and all other types of energy, keeping your strength at a set limit, until you tear it off and unleash your true power as all stored energy overflows back into your body!"
-5000DP
"It doesn't show their actual effects?" He asked, curious about some items.
"I believe this is on purpose, to make every purchase like a mystery box."
"Hmm..."
Most of the items seemed to be some kind of novelty or related to past skilled warriors or special existences that may or may not have existed.
Leonhardt wanted something that could cultivate him without levelling and improve through effort and hard work... so he browsed the random upgrades and items for sale. Some sounded stupid but others a little interesting, until he found a bizarre item.
"A core?!"
A core was the source of a monster's life.
Without it, you would die, and to implant one needed a lot of luck or adaptability.

The listing looked bad... no images or item information.
Leonhardt noticed you needed to pay Dungeon Points to list an item for the online auctions, but this also had a buy-out feature... for 10000 dungeon points. He didn't know why he stopped on this item... because it sounded BAD. The effects listed made him feel conflicted, but something inside him wanted this thing.
'Is it because I am a Chimera... my current core isn't good, it's unstable and the one that almost cracked when I was created by that crazy archmage.'
[What's the matter?]
"You seem to be struggling... Master what's wrong?"
Both women asked him questions at once and Leonhardt didn't want to explain, so he simply said.
"I just found something that may help me..."
Then pointed to the core...
But
"It's a blank screen, what are you talking about?"
[There's no listing. Are you okay, Leon?]
He blinked at Zafira, and she blinked back...
'What?'
It was clearly there in his eyes, the forbidden core... a cheesy listing.
"Can't you see it? The forbidden core is right there... look, the confirm bid popped up!"
What made Leonhardt's heart shake was that his bid of 100 DP went through, and the auction only had a few seconds left!
'What?'
"Leon... are you alright?" Zafira suddenly grabbed his shoulders, a confused look as she gazed at the screen several times before peering at him with a worried expression.
"No... really, I can see it."
She shook her head.
"I don't see anything."
[What's going on? Who made such a bizarre listing with a protection that even I cannot access it!?]
Ifrit also spoke up after a while, seeming to have investigated the listing.
[DING!]
A little sound played from the system interface on the 3D hologram and then even Zafira gasped.
"Hold on... I won..."
He clicked on the Dungeon point tab to see if he had spent them, and the cost of the item was missing, and then suddenly... he felt a weight in his palm, it was icy cold... colder than Sylvie's aura as a Yuki Onna. But it felt comfortable.
However, Leonhardt became entranced when he opened his palm... and the multicoloured orb rolled across his palm, a core no larger than a marble, with various colours spread through its milky surface.
The world began to slow down.
He lifted it to his eyes, narrowing them and enjoying the flickering lights.
[LEONHARDT: DO NOT SWALLOW THAT!]
There was something wrong with him, but he didn't feel bad.
This orb, it called out to him, using a strange name.
The name didn't sound familiar yet... Leonhardt's chest pounded when it repeated in his mind, creating a sense of warmth and nostalgia.
Leon wasn't under any control—he wanted this.
His core screamed, his chest throbbed, and his mind raced with information.
This core was HIS.
It was supposed to be his—Leon just felt this way. He closed his eyes with a smile on his lips. Zafira's and Ifrit's voices echoed.
But Leonhardt placed the orb into his mouth and swallowed...
