DxD: I Steal Luck-Chapter 182: True Inside Agent
Chapter 182 - 182: True Inside Agent
"You brat, what did you just say?!"
Inside the meeting room, Katerea Leviathan showed a furious expression as though Blake had triggered her anger.
"Isn't it true?"
Ignoring Katerea's fury, Blake calmly pressed on.
"Heh, very well. You've angered me."
With that, Katerea raised her magic wand, which began to glow with massive magical energy.
Boom!!!
In the next moment, a violent explosion rang out within the small meeting room. Everything was wiped out, and thick smoke enveloped the area.
"Hahaha, you deserve it!"
By the time Katerea laughed, her body hovering in the air, it seemed as if she had wiped everything below out of existence.
"Gah!"
However, before she could laugh for long, the smoke cleared, revealing the situation below.
No one was injured, a faint golden barrier enveloped everyone.
"Heh, this is such an ugly scene, the leaders of the three major factions united to cast a barrier like this!"
However, as if to regain her dignity, Katerea laughed mockingly at the sight of Sirzechs, Michael, and Azazel jointly maintaining the barrier.
"Sirzechs, Michael, I'll take care of her. No objections, right?"
Azazel spread his twelve wings, blacker than the night, and spoke casually to Sirzechs.
"Descendant of the former Great Satan Leviathan. You're not a bad opponent. Katerea Leviathan, let's have a big showdown."
Katerea, undeterred by Azazel's intimidating challenge, responded with a fearless smile.
"I've been waiting for this, Governor of the Fallen Angels!"
Boom!
Katerea and Azazel flew off into the sky, engaging in a battle of light and magic above the schoolyard.
However, while Katerea was pouring all her energy into her attacks, Azazel, the pesky governor, kept one hand in his pocket and wore a relaxed expression.
"As expected of a Leviathan descendant, your strength is impressive."
In mid-air, still with one hand in his pocket, Azazel formed a green magic circle with one hand to block Katerea's orange magic beam. He commented lazily, though it was obvious he was toying with her.
"Dammit, Azazel, you dare mock me!"
In response, Katerea took out a bottle from her hand. She quickly opened it and poured something resembling a serpent into her mouth.
The moment it entered her mouth, her magical power exploded, reaching Satan Class. However, while her quantity of power had increased, the quality was clearly lacking.
Boom!
Feeling Katerea's force, Azazel finally became serious.
"It seems like Ophis gave you something impressive."
"Yes, he's a dragon with infinite power. For the sake of world change, I borrowed a bit of his strength. Thanks to this, I can now fight you. I might even have a chance to defeat Sirzechs and Michael. They are fools, and so are you, Governor."
"...Perhaps. I might be foolish. With out my vice governor, I couldn't do anything. I'm just an Scared Gear enthusiast. But I believe Sirzechs and Michael are not as foolish as you. They're far more capable than you."
Azazel's words twisted Katerea's face with anger.
"Foolish talk! Fine, I'll end you now. I'll make your death the first step toward creating a new world!"
With that, Katerea unleashed her expanded magical energy toward Azazel. He raised an eyebrow and blocked the attack once again. Instantly, the air was filled with green and dark orange energy clouds, causing the space to tremble. It was terrifying—if not for the joint barrier cast by the three Great Satan, the real world outside would undoubtedly be destroyed.
After a few seconds of intense fighting, just as Azazel was about to strike and end the boring battle, a figure clad in white armor appeared behind him, releasing a light blue magic circle aimed directly at him.
Azazel sensed the attack just in time and defensively formed a shield to take the blow head-on.
Ding!
However, things did not go as Azazel expected. At the last moment, countless large sword beams struck the figure, sending it flying. The sound of metal clashing and sparks flying filled the air.
"Vali, you're the insider, huh? And to do something like a sneak attack... this is not something the White Dragon Emperor would do!"
Once the dust settled, Blake, wrapped in green wind, swiftly flew to Azazel's side, looking directly at Vali, who was covered in silver armor.
This caused everyone to look on in shock.
"The White Dragon Emperor... is the insider...?"
"Looks like you suspected me all along."
Vali spoke with a hint of helplessness.
"Don't forget, I have learned Sense type Magic Arts. Naturally, Rias, Sona, and the others can't be insiders. Though Azazel might be a bit out of line, he's not lying. And neither the Satan's nor the Archangels have any ill intentions. As for the last Archangel... she's not a threat either. So, by process of elimination, it can only be you."
Blake analyzed Vali without a care, his expression calm.
"Strong in power, and your analytical abilities are impressive... you're really a troublesome opponent."
After hearing Blake's analysis, Vali smiled. It was the excitement of facing a strong opponent.
The others looked at Vali with solemn expressions. The betrayal of the White Dragon Emperor was no small matter.
At this moment, Azazel, who had repelled Katerea with some force, also turned with a wry smile.
"So, Vali, you've been coaxed into this..."
"When did this happen? When did it all change?"
"It happened while we were bringing Kokabiel back to the headquarters. Apologies, Azazel. This situation is just more interesting."
Vali replied casually, his body radiating powerful magical and dragon energy, causing the space around them to destabilize.
This made everyone, except for Blake, frown deeply, and the atmosphere grew perilous.
"Vali, did the 'White Dragon' submit to Ophis?"
Sensing the oppressive atmosphere, Azazel furrowed his brow and spoke in a low voice.
"Not exactly, it was more of a helpful arrangement. It was a very enticing offer: 'Don't you want to try battling the Norse Gods?'—when he asked that, I couldn't refuse. Azazel, you dislike battling the Gods, don't you? After all, you hate war."
"I told you to 'become stronger,' but I never said 'create something that could destroy the world.'"
"It's fine. I just want to fight forever."
"...I see. Actually, I probably already knew you'd leave me. From the moment we met, you've always craved fighting strong opponents."
Azazel revealed a bitter expression as he said this.
"This time, all the preparations and intelligence were from the White Dragon Emperor. Understanding his nature, it's unlike you to just let him go unchecked. In the end, you've only harmed yourself."
From behind, Katerea also spoke mockingly, clearly displeased that she had been suppressed by Azazel after taking Ophis's serpent.
