Chapter 20: Keeping the SSS-Rank Secret from the Smartest Fatty! Opening Global Trade Hub

Light flashed, and Caelus appeared right back in his dorm room.

By now, Albert was already back and was aggressively scrolling through the global forums on the internet.

Literally everything on it was related to the latest Origin Network’s ominous announcement.

People were, without a doubt, in complete disorder after this incident.

Of course, the vast majority simply did not give it much importance and moved on with their lives. Their reality had already merged with a literal game. What else could possibly shock them at this point?

"You are back." Albert jumped up.

Caelus nodded at him.

"Brother Caelus, why did you continuously invite me to the arena for no reason? Couldn’t you have just fought another opponent like you just did? Why did you have to bully me?" Albert asked with twitching lips.

He really didn’t know what to say.

Did Albert do something in the past that Caelus held in his heart until now, and he was finally beating him up for it?

"Do not think too much about it, fatty. I was just testing the damage output of my combat score," Caelus said with a casual shrug.

"If you say so," Albert said, not completely buying the excuse.

"But, Brother Caelus, what exactly is your talent? How come you became suddenly strong? No, is it even a talent? It is clear that there wasn’t any light coming from you during the time everyone awakened their Origin Talent. And considering your combat score and the facts from Server 513, it is blatantly clear that you were already strong from the beginning, meaning it wasn’t a random fortuitous encounter either."

"..." Caelus’s expression darkened. Wasn’t this fatty a bit too incredibly smart?

"Do not ask me about the details. I cannot reveal anything about it until I find more information for myself."

Which is never, Caelus thought inwardly.

Albert might be the most trusted being on the Azure Origin Planet as of now, but Caelus was still never going to reveal a single thing related to his SSS-Rank Extraction Talent. Not even to him.

"Fine, I will not ask you about it," Albert replied with a heavy sigh.

"By the way, some huge changes are about to happen following the Origin Network’s announcement. From our classmates in the Special Class, I also heard that the principal and the staff have already entered the meeting room to discuss this matter. We will most likely be briefed about the new changes very soon."

Caelus gave a silent nod as he sat down on his bed.

These World Quests, did they give unique rewards?

That was the only thing Caelus truly cared about.

From the way the Origin Network had worded it, it was glaringly obvious that things were not simple, and they, as an entire planet, had completely failed in meeting the base criteria of clearing dungeons.

So many talented people, and humanity still failed to clear dungeons? Caelus couldn’t help but click his tongue in wonder.

Weren’t these people focusing on completely the wrong things then? As a result, the entire world was now doomed.

What can I say? Now, the world desperately needs me to save it. Caelus confidently flicked his hair back.

Speaking of his hair, it was a total mess. He never really took care of it, and as a result, it was all over the place. Maybe he would try to get himself a fresh haircut tomorrow.

"For now, I will take a short nap after I am done with trading." Caelus was feeling quite drowsy. Since that was the case, he decided to sleep after checking out the trading hub. Then, he would head back into the Domain at night, where he could finally explore the second area of the Newbie Plains, which guaranteed more elite monsters.

He greatly looked forward to it.

For now, he decided to check his status window.

"Combat score has reached 10 thanks the lightning domain talent." Caelus nodded.

The talent gave him lightning oriented buff to his body making it stronger passively.

As expected of a B-Rank Talent. Then his eyes fell onto the title tab.

"Rookie Emperor, huh?" Caelus chuckled.

Honestly speaking, he had never seen this title before. He had already checked around the global forums, but there was absolutely nothing written about it.

Perhaps it was a newly created title by the Origin Network?

Whatever the case was, a thorough investigation must be conducted in the future after he re-enters the Domain.

So far, he hadn’t met any NPCs in the game yet, but that was strictly because the new server was still trapped in the tutorial phase. Once he unlocked more areas in the Newbie Plains map, there would naturally be more NPCs and even localized quests that spawned randomly.

"The MP and HP are still the exact same," Caelus noticed.

Naturally, there was a specific reason for this. That was because base vitals did not passively increase with each level. They only increased with the Rank stage.

Iron I had 100 Mana and HP, Iron II had 125, and Iron III had 150. Then, stepping into the Bronze Realm, it directly jumped to 300 Mana and HP after a successful ascension quest.

It then followed the exact same 25-point increment rule across the Bronze stages as well.

Of course, there were naturally alternative ways to artificially increase this capacity. One simply needed to stumble upon fortuitous encounters or find extremely rare Vitality Reservoir Fruits or Mana Reservoir Fruits, which directly and permanently increased your maximum capacity.

A single 1-Star Mana Fruit could easily cost millions of Origin Credits on the open market, and that specific grade was only usable by those in the Iron Rank.

Bronze Rank players could not use them to improve their mana at all.

Overall, he needed a ridiculous amount of Origin Credits.

Especially for high-end trading.

Caelus opened up the global trading hub in his system interface.

In this digital marketplace, a player could freely browse through all available items. But the strict downside was that you could only see items that were scaled and beneficial for the Iron Rank. But on the other hand, wasn’t that for the best? The young rookies didn’t need to see just how terrifyingly wide and expensive the real world was just yet.

With that in mind, Caelus began scrolling through the current listings.

"Hm, basic armors and weapons." Caelus immediately became bored.

That was because these specific armors and weapons were not actually found by players exploring the newly opened server. Instead, massive guilds and established organizations had their contracted Iron Rank workers craft and sell them on their behalf in return for a meager commission. Of course, the gear naturally worked fine, but all of these manufactured items were simply far too expensive for a normal beginner.

There were many Rare daggers listed, and he even saw an Epic tier weapon, but a standard Rare dagger alone cost 350 Origin Credits.

It did, after all, securely boost a player’s combat score by a solid 1.0 point.

That was a highly significant boost in the early game.

Then, there were also many Common 1-Star weapons going for a cheap 25 Origin Credits per unit.

Additionally, he also saw established merchants selling Rare 1-Star full-set armor, which could provide an additional boost of 1 full combat score.

Of course, they were without a doubt exorbitant in price. They were priced even higher than the weapons at a whopping 450 Origin Credits.

Checking the creator tag, he realized that these sets were in fact meticulously crafted by a certified 2-Star Blacksmith, so the premium price tag made perfect sense.
