Chapter 24: First to Slay a Tyrant Boss! A 1-Star Rare Treasure Chest Appears

Somewhere far away, Ren and his party were discussing amongst themselves.

Ren’s party contained him, Lara, and two others from the first class of Fortis-01 High.

"So, only Lara and I got the town foundation quest, huh?" Ren glanced at Lara, who nodded at him.

"Then that must mean Player 555 most definitely received this quest too," Ren said. "This is the only mission that rewards the leadership token."

"Ren, that is exactly why you must become the Town Leader," Lara suddenly said, bringing up the heavy issue hanging over them. "The academy is already pushing for a merger. If you become a Town Leader, then your status within the Special Class will without a doubt increase. Then, we will not have to transfer to Server 512."

Ren nodded upon hearing this. "Indeed, I do not want to transfer servers either. Giving up our home ground would set us back too much."

"They should be the ones transferring over to our server instead," Lara said with a snort. "If you manage to become the Town Leader, then we won’t have to bow our heads. The school forcing us is one thing we cannot simply refuse, but if we hold the town and make them join our server, then our fame will rise sharply."

The teachers of the Special Class actually favored two students in particular: Sylvia Reign and Kevin Keith.

They were at the top of the class, and in combat, no one could defeat them. Hence, they were the golden children of the teachers and the principal alike.

Hence, once the meeting with the Special Class was conducted, those two were heavily favored. The other students had been asked to transfer over to their server, and the faculty didn’t even bother asking for the other students’ opinions.

Both Ren and Lara were enraged by this.

But maybe becoming a Town Leader might change that. Everyone on the Azure Origin Planet knew that Town Leaders held extreme importance in the Domain.

A Town Leader effectively had absolute control over the players of a server. Their words were law. Forget about leaving without permission; the Leader could revoke your entry into the town entirely, barring you from your cabin and leaving you to the mercy of the night. And that was just the tip of the iceberg.

Their goals were clear. Now they just needed to act faster than Player 555, the mysterious expert of Server 513.

...

"Become the Town Leader?" Caelus grinned. "Do not mind if I do."

Caelus accepted the quest without hesitation.

Why? Because he, just like others across the Azure Origin Planet, knew the immense importance of becoming a Town Leader.

That was when you became a truly important figure in the Domain.

Your status completely changed as a result.

The next course of action was finding a Tyrant-Level beast. From what Caelus knew, Tyrant-Level beasts existed in every area of the Newbie Plains. This meant a Tyrant-Level monster should still be lurking around here.

Caelus looked at his map using the system interface. Right now, he had almost explored all of the first area of the Newbie Plains. But there was still a bit of a grey spot on the map, which was completely covered in a fog of war. This meant that specific part was completely unexplored. Caelus knew exactly where to go, and so he set off toward that grey spot on the map.

A few minutes later, Caelus was inside a dense bush, silently lurking. Ahead of him were two boars. They were aggressively dragging away dead snakes with their teeth, pulling them into a narrow cave.

Being near it, Caelus could easily sense an extreme amount of bloodlust radiating from the dark entrance.

"Looks like I managed to find it," Caelus chuckled softly.

Then what was he waiting for? Without a single ounce of hesitation, he went in. Along the way, he cleanly killed the few boars that were guarding the perimeter with precise strikes.

Suddenly, the air around the cave shifted.

The cavern fell into a pin-drop silence as something slowly began to emerge.

A boar with a gigantic body stepped into the light. It had blood-red eyes and a sharp horn on its forehead. Each stomp it made on the ground shook the cave slightly.

[System Warning! You have encountered a Tyrant-Level Fierce Beast!]

[Wild Tyrant Boar - Level 4]

Caelus grinned widely when he saw the beast.

Squeal!

It squealed violently as it released a dense amount of killing intent, shaking the cave slightly with its sheer presence.

"Damn, your breath smells. Is there no toothpaste in the Domain?" Caelus said a dark look on his face.

He immediately checked its stats. It was a Level 2 Tyrant Boar, and it had a terrifying combat score of 13.0.

Squeal!

The massive beast did not wait. It initiated a charge.

It was a talent unique to boars. When charging at a target, this specific attack dealt massive critical damage upon impact.

The ground trembled under its heavy hooves as it lunged forward with immense speed.

Caelus remained perfectly calm. He instantly activated Lightning Step. Blue lightning crackled violently around his legs.

His body blurred out of the way just a fraction of a second before the boar smashed heavily into the cavern wall.

The impact was deafening, but the Tyrant Boar was incredibly tough. It shook off the falling debris and locked its glowing red eyes back onto Caelus, its thick hide bristling with absolute rage.

"Too slow," Caelus taunted.

He relied on his C-Rank Dexterity and D-Rank Body Enhancement to completely outmaneuver the beast.

As the boar lunged again, Caelus smoothly sidestepped, his movements fluid and highly precise. He seamlessly brandished his Epic 1-Star Windbreaker Dagger.

Slash! Squelch!

He drove the greenish blade with black edges deep into the beast’s thick body. The Epic dagger’s passive bleed effect immediately took hold. Dark blood continuously dripped onto the cavern floor, slowly draining the monster’s HP.

The boar squealed in pure agony and wildly thrashed its massive tusks around, desperately trying to gore Caelus.

"Fireball," Caelus shouted, actively jumping back to create a safe distance.

An orange flame formed out of existence and shot directly at the boar’s face.

Boom!

The explosion scorched the beast’s eyes, but the searing pain only made the Tyrant Boar more frenzied. It prepared for one final, desperate charge, its bloodlust reaching an absolute peak.

"Let’s end this," Caelus said with a smile.

He stretched his hand out and made a sharp flicking gesture. He activated Compressed Lightning Shot.

The condensed sphere of pure electricity blasted right into the boar’s skull, completely blinding and stunning the monster while wreaking absolute havoc on its internal body.

The beast was completely paralyzed.

Without giving it a single chance to recover, Caelus followed up aggressively. He used Weapon Manifestation. A sharp, terrifying wave of weapon energy unleashed from his dagger and tore straight through the boar’s weakened neck. He intentionally avoided using Blood Manipulation to save his mana, as it cost a heavy 25 Mana points per use.

The tyrant beast let out one final, agonizing squeal before its massive body collapsed heavily to the rocky floor as light came out from it and condensed on the ground.

He had killed the beast without even needing to exert his full physical strength.

Immediately, a server-wide system notification rang out across the entire Domain.

[System Announcement: Player 555 is the first person to eliminate a Tyrant-Level Monster in Server 513.]

[System: You have killed a Level 4 Tyrant Boar.]

[System: You have received +50 EXP, 20 Origin Credits.]

[System: Player 555 has received +2 Reputation Point.]

[System: Objective 1 Complete.]

Instantly, the server chat exploded into absolute chaos.

[Marcus: What is happening?! A Tyrant-Level Monster already?]

[Alex: Are you kidding me? Is Player 555 some sort of hacker?]

[Maru: Player 555 again! Just who is this monster?]

[Ren: He is too fast. If we do not find our own boss monster soon, he will complete the town foundation quest before us.]

[Lara: This is ridiculous. How can a single person clear a tyrant beast solo?]

By now, everyone knew that Player 555 was a solo player.

Back in the dark cave, Caelus completely ignored the chaotic global chat. He simply squatted in front of the massive boar carcass and placed his hand on its thick flank to activate his skill.

[System: Extraction Successful...]

[System: You have obtained the Talent: Charge (E-Rank).]

[Charge - Grants a small chance to invoke a critical hit when charging at someone with speed.]

[System: Extraction Successful...]

[System: You have obtained 30kg of boar meat]

"This will definitely come in handy, especially with Lightning Step." Caelus smiled in pure satisfaction.

Then, Caelus turned towards the ground of the cave. Next to the corpse was a glowing treasure chest.
