Ensnaring his Dark Moon-Chapter 243: Sleep with me
"Awake?’’ he whispered gently, his grip on her wrist tightened.
Esme’s eyes fluttered open.
She blinked.
Aleister gulped softly, ’’Esme,’’ he said her name with a hint of fear in his voice.
Her silence was making him feel unnerved.
[A/N: Karma is a bitch, Al. You used to unnerve her back in the Daven Castle during her earlier days there ;) ]
She did not forget him again now, did she? Aleister could not help but wonder.
Esme’s gaze shifted from the chandelier hanging above her head.
She glanced at him.
Under her blank stare, Aleister pushed himself out of the bed.
’’Who am I, Esme?" he asked her carefully, still holding onto her hand.
She can glare all she want but he badly needed her to glare at him. At least, that would make it certain that she did not forget him again.
Aleister knew that it was absurd but at this point, he did not know where his fears were emerging from.
After all, he did not expect her to lose consciousness just by jumping into the sea.
So, there were uncertainties.
’’Look at me. You remember something?’’ When her gaze remained blank, he cleared his throat, ’’Look into my eyes. You said you like them.’’
He even leaned closer to her to let her take a look.
Aleister did not know what was all of it about her being obsessed over a pair of eyes.
But he was not going to be the one to talk when he was obsessed with all of her.
’’Also, you said you hate me. Remember?" he continued.
She did not respond.
Now, she was scaring him.
Her lips thinned and her eyes narrowed.
Relief washed over his heart. She remembered him.
Heaving another relieved sigh, he inched closer to her, ’’I apologize for what I did earlier. I took it so far, my dear moon. Stop scaring me now,’’ he mumbled, "I know I should not have done that—’’
’Pak’
His words were yet to stop when Esme swung her hand out of his grip and gave him a tight slap.
Aleister’s head whipped to the side by the intensity of her slap because he was caught off guard by her movement.
His jaws clenched.
He closed his eyes, taking a calming breath that did not calm him anywhere.
Nobody had the audacity to slap him. This was the first time it happened.
But then, he should not have been affected by it.
After all, many of his first times belonged to this woman.
He tilted his head to look at her, raking his fingers through his hair as he removed them from his forehead.
His fingers curled into a tight fist till his knuckles turned pale.
He was furious. But much to his amusement, his fury was directed at their circumstances, not at Esme.
It was eye-opening how all of his morals got on their knees when they faced this woman.
Had it been someone else who slapped him, he would have burnt that palm till now.
But, here he was, stretching his lips into a soft smile, ’’If that makes you less angry,’’ he nodded, trampling on his pride, ’’Let me apologize again—’’
His words were yet to finish when she cut him off. Again.
Not with a slap, but a kiss this time.
Esme threw her hands around his neck as she met his lips fiercely, stretching her body halfway across the bed.
His eyes widened.
Aleister still had his body lowered to her head level.
He knew. He knew that he was so desperate for this woman that he was beginning to hallucinate things now.
His imagination were beginning to run wild and...
His thoughts trailed off when Esme bit his lips. It was a prickling sensation at first but soon he felt a metallic taste in his mouth.
And that snapped him out of his daze.
He was not seeing things out of his pathetic desperation.
It was real.
Esme. was. kissing. him.
Biting. him.
He raked his fingers through her hair and responded to her lips with equal passion.
As she stretched her body, Aleister pressed one knee on the bed.
She tightened her hold around his neck and pulled him closer to herself.
He took her bottom lips between his teeth, licking and sucking it alternatively.
The bed dipped as he climbed atop her body. He tugged at her hair and angled her head upwards as he thrust his tongue inside her mouth.
Esme stopped biting him. Her hazy eyes were half-lidded as she glanced at him.
Aleister removed his fingers from her hair as he cupped her face, ’’I am not allowing you to say that it was a mistake on your part. Or a lapse of judgment. Or anything else that defies this moment between us,’’ his voice was hoarse, ’’Because, you, my love, will be breaking my heart if you say any of that.’’
His palm shifted on her cheek as he stroked her thumb, looking into her dazed eyes.
She was not pushing him away and that made him drop a gentle kiss on her lips again.
She still did not push him away.
He stole another kiss from her lips before he kissed the tip of her nose.
He pressed a gentle kiss on her left cheek and then moved to the right.
He kissed the tip of her nose.
His thumb continued caressing her face as he kissed her forehead, ’’Esme,’’ he called her name softly as if he was trying to stop that serene moment from shattering.
He was almost beginning to forget how it felt to hold her this close to him, to look at her up so close that he craved to count those dense lashes that cascaded over her cheeks everytime she looked down.
Esme closed her eyes, her head nodding off towards him.
Her arms around his neck started loosening.
’’Esme,’’ he called her name again as worry started creeping inside his heart.
’’Sleep with me,’’ she mumbled in a barely audible voice as she placed her chin in the crook of his neck, hugging him tighter.
Aleister’s jaws dropped.
If this was how he was going to be treated after a slap then he would let her slap him again.
Aleister cleared his throat, ’’You are not fully awake,’’ he tried to pry himself away from her but she fell back, dragging him down to the bed along with herself.
He could have stopped her from doing that but... who was he to stop her from gracing mankind with her kindness?
