Ensnaring his Dark Moon-Chapter 326: When did I..?
Luciana glared at him and grabbed his hand forcefully, inwardly cursing Jeremiah for being so powerful. She knew that Cardan was delicate compared to Aleister but she did not know that he was delicate to this extent. Although he could control minds and manipulate people but since he was this affected by a mortal, then he must be weak. Had she known it, she would have left him outside the sea court to protect him.
If Cardan could hear her thoughts, he would have turned paler but the man was distracted since the moment Luciana forcefully grabbed his hand and her touch was all he could think about.
’’Is that all?" Rezeph asked.
Rezeph’s unflinching stature made Jeremiah confident that maybe the man had his hopes pinned on Cardan who was also a heavenly prince. And that made him chuckle.
He twisted his fingers and a black star emerged in his palm, ’’Do you know what this is, Your Majesty?" his mocking gaze wandered back to Rezeph.
Rezeph’s eyes landed on the star lying in Jeremiah’s palm.
’’The people of the witch clan have been sending their experts to train more mortals to practice black magic. With this, I can summon the experts from the witch clan any moment I want to. Would you still be sitting so calmly by then?" Jeremiah chuckled and the star disappeared from his hand, ’’But I doubt I would have to use such an artifact on worthless people like you.’’
Elder Hall frowned and looked at the King with a concerned gaze.
The dark aura around Jeremiah’s body dispersed in thin air as the man raised his hand and grabbed Esme’s long hair, yanking it back harshly.
Her head was jolted up, ’’Ahh...’’ she cried, two drops of tears escaping from her eyes and turning into pearls as they fell on the floor.
’Crack’
Jeremiah’s amused gaze landed on the arm of the throne that was cracked under Rezeph’s fist. For the first time in the whole day, there was a flicker of rage in those usually nonchalant eyes.
"Esme!"
Luciana and Adrian rushed forward toward Esme only to halt when Jeremiah wrapped Esme’s hair around his fist, clenching it harder till more tears spilled from her eyes.
’’Get on your knees,’’ his gaze shifted between Adrian and Luciana, both the people who had offended him a few moments ago.
’’I said...’’ He twisted Esme’s hair and arched her neck back, eliciting a heart-wrenching scream, ’’Get on your knees..’’
’’Stop!" Adrian clenched his fists till his knuckles turned pale.
Luciana could feel the tears prickling the back of her eyes, ’’We will do as you say. Let her go,’’ her voice cracked.
Jeremiah looked at them, pleased, but his grip on Esme’s hair never loosened.
’’Do it then," Jeremiah drawled, yanking Esme closer before he pushed her to the ground and slammed a foot on her head, "The more time you take, the further Esme will suffer.’’
"Ahh...!!’’
’’Esme!"
"Esme!"
Rezeph stood up from his throne, his eyes narrowed.
Elder Hall closed his eyes.
Jeremiah threw his head back and broke out in a peal of maniacal laughter.
’’To make her suffer, you have to go through me.’’
Jeremiah’s laughter came to an abrupt halt when he heard the voice.
And the moment he glanced at the man walking past the doors of the throne room, his eyes widened.
Aleister was the only person whose powers were unpredictable hence he had schemed against the man very carefully.
Jeremiah panicked for a brief moment but the moment he heard Esme’s pained cries, the panic in his heart disappeared.
Every puppet had its strings. No matter how powerful, once the string is tugged, the puppet would start dancing like an aimless doll. Aleister’s string was Esme.
The realization of it had Jeremiah’s chest inflated in confidence. He pressed his foot harder on Esme’s head, pressing her face down on the floor.
’’Ah...’’ Another heart-wrenching cry erupted in the throne room.
Aleister’s footsteps slowed down.
Jeremiah smirked but the smirk was wiped off his face when Aleister raised an eyebrow and continued approaching Jeremiah.
"Ahhhhh!" Another heart-wrenching cry resounded in the walls of the throne room but this time, it did not come from Esme.
Jeremiah staggered a few steps back before crashing on the floor, looking at his severed foot that was lying at some distance.
Jeremiah looked at Aleister in disbelief, ’’You...’’
Aleister approached the man nonchalantly, ’’The thought of touching her crosses your mind, I will rip your arms off. Look at her with that spiteful gaze, and I will gouge your eyes out.’’
’’Thoughts?" Jeremiah gasped as he moved his finger and a black fume enveloped the foot that was lying in the distance. The foot gradually got attached to his leg in front of everyone’s eyes, slowly healing the garish wound but there remained some ugly black scars on the skin around it, ’’You cannot do anything to me regardless of what I do to my wife.’’
’’Your wife?" Aleister’s gaze passed every person present in the throne room before it landed on Jeremiah.
Jeremiah glanced at Esme who was sitting beside him on the floor. He pushed himself to his feet, still a little unsteady on his legs, grabbed her hand roughly, and yanked her closer to him. A wide smile made its way to his face, ’’Nobody told you about this, did they? Esme is my wife.’’
Luciana gazed at the man in disgust. The thought of having the same blood as that man made her insides churn.
’’When did I marry you?"
Luciana’s eyes widened in disbelief as she turned around.
She looked at Esme who stepped inside the throne room, holding a white little creature in her arms while she stroked those pristine fur with her fingers.
It was none other than Leo who had forsaken them the moment they reached the Crystal Castle. And the beast had even returned to his adorable tiny form.
This time, Jeremiah’s breathing stopped when he raised his head towards the voice and saw Esme walking towards him.
