Ensnaring his Dark Moon-Chapter 346: Dungeons
Unbeknownst to Luciana, a hint of anger laced her cold tone as she stopped two steps away from him.
But that angry note in her voice did not go unnoticed by Cardan, ’’Are you upset because you missed me?"
Luciana’s lips parted slightly, her eyes widening for a moment before she narrowed them, ’’Do not talk to me,’’ she turned around and left.
Cardan was about to chase after Luciana but the moment he stepped forward, his path was blocked.
’’How presumptuous...’’ His words trailed off when he shifted his gaze from the direction Luciana had left and spotted Aleister standing in front of him.
’’Come with me,’’ Aleister turned around and walked away without waiting for Cardan’s response.
’’Is there something that you want to say? If you want to cry and be grateful for the way I saved your life, you can start from here. I won’t mind...’’
’’Quiet,’’ Aleister’s tone dipped.
Cardan raised an eyebrow.
As the waves crashed against the boulders and went back, the brothers stood on the seashore, both lost in their thoughts.
’’Will you say something now?" Cardan spoke up, unable to take the silence any longer.
"You are sick. It is the curse.’’
Cardan’s face turned pale.
Aleister turned around to look at the man, ’’You need to see your mother yet you are staying here, hiding from people and idling around,’’ Taking a brief pause, he added, ’’When are you going back?"
...
’’My Lady, we have turned him down so many times yet the Prince refuses to leave,’’ a maidservant said helplessly to Luciana.
It had been a few minutes since Cardan’s arrival in front of Luciana’s room and his actions had rendered everyone speechless. On one hand, Luciana was adamant about not letting him in, and on the other hand, Cardan was insistent about seeing her.
Them, as the mere servants were sacrificed in between as they could not offend either of them.
Luciana raised her head from the diary in her hand, ’’Let him in,’’ she glanced back at the diary that Cardan had gifted her, ’’In a moment.’’
Once the maidservant left the room, Luciana pushed herself to her feet and went in front of the mirror.
She fixed her appearance hastily and walked back to the bed before sitting in a prim manner.
As the doors opened, she hurriedly grabbed a book and leaned back on her bed, a nonchalant look shadowing her face.
’’Lucy,’’ Cardan sighed at the sight of her, his eyes glowing with affection and helplessness.
Luciana did not avert her gaze from the book in her hand.
The man approached her before he sat beside her.
As he moved his hand towards her face, Luciana swatted it away as she placed the book aside.
But before she could say anything, he held her hands gently and pulled her into his arms, "I am sorry. I did not mean it,’’ he kissed her hair gently.
Despite every nerve in her body screaming at her to push him away, Luciana still let herself loose in his arms when he whispered those words again and again.
There was something about him. He angered her to death yet the moment he stopped doing that, the moment he held her in his arms, she felt a comfort that she had never felt before.
’’I want to take you somewhere. Will you go with me?" Cardan slowly pulled back from her as he looked at her, a glint of hope in his eyes.
Luciana paused, ’’Where?"
’’To my home.’’
Luciana’s eyes widened slightly.
’’If you do not want to go with me, then it is alright,’’ the man stroked her hair gently, assuring her.
Luciana shook her head, ’’I want to come with you but there is something I have been wanting to talk about.’’
Cardan quirked a brow, his movements paused as he retracted his hands from her hair.
’’I want to meet him.’’
And she did not have to take a name for him to understand who she was talking about.
The next day.
a trusted aide informed Cardan the moment they reached Dark Castle, "’Your Highness, His Majesty is in closed-door cultivation. Something seemed to be wrong with him from my observation but we do not know if I am just seeing things because he never mentioned anything,’’
Cardan frowned slightly but eventually, he nodded.
Once the man left, Luciana held Cardan’s hand, ’’Is there no way you can see him?"
Cardan shook his head, ’’Nobody is allowed to step inside the cultivation chambers of the dark castle. But he will be fine,’’ he turned around to look at her.
When his gaze remained fixated on her face for a long time, Luciana averted her gaze, heat creeping up her cheeks.
Cardan chuckled and snapped his fingers.
At the slight movement of his fingers, two shadow guards appeared in the room.
Luciana stared at Cardan questioningly.
’’They will escort you to the dungeons while protecting you,’’ the latter part of his was not just meant for Luciana but also for the guards who immediately lowered their heads in obedience.
’’Why are you not coming with me?" Luciana asked, catching onto to unsaid part of the words.
’’Is it that you can’t bear to part with me, Lucy? If that is so then I can come with you.’’
Luciana narrowed her eyes at the teasing insinuation in his voice, ’’What are you talking about? I was yet to celebrate your absence.’’
Cardan pressed a fist on his chest, ’’That hurt.’’
Luciana rolled her eyes and turned around to leave.
But she had taken a step forward when she paused and turned to face the shadow guards who were standing frozen after witnessing the interaction between them, ’’Lead the way.’’
The dumbstruck men immediately snapped back to their senses when they heard her words and they shot forward to lead the way.
Luciana rolled her eyes again before she followed them.
An amused expression flitted across Cardan’s face when he saw the way she commanded his people. How delightful she was!
